...and contrast the two (2) industries you have identified in terms of size, products, services, customers, economic and regulatory environment. The two industries that I have identified are; Twitter and Google, Twitter is a "micro-blogging" tool, meaning you can share clever comments and content, but you must keep it brief (under 140 characters to be exact). Twitter has experienced exponential growth since it began. Twitter provides its users with many ways to segment content based on topic through the use of hashtags (e.g. #Infusionsoft), trending topics, saved searches, follower lists, and more. Twitter is a quite useful "listening" tool so you can see what your target audience is discussing, stay up to date on industry trends, and engage in conversation with those who talk about your company. The follow connection on Twitter may be initiated by an "offline" relationship, but it is just as likely to be created by a common interest. Twitter users follow industry experts and those with who teach or study the same topics that interest them. Though the bond between Twitter users is not as personal, active users generally have a larger circle of influence on Twitter than they might have on Facebook. Twitter also has search power, allowing users to search by topic, name, and more. Twitter also allows for more automation since tools like Hoot Suite allow you to schedule posts. Set up a Twitter account. Infusion soft integrates with Twitter so that you can increase your followers, publish...

Mba Leadership

...EMBA 704X Leadership and Me: Applying Organizational Behavior Principles to Develop an Action Plan 04-29-2010 I believe that Leadership is a learned art, behavior, attitude and a set of skills that you develop and hone over the period of time that makes up your life. It is not simply a matter of experiences, though they play a roll. For example, the recent TV series “Undercover Boss” has fascinated me because the leaders of these companies are apparently not well-known in their own companies that they can be recognized by their employees while undercover. How is it possible that these followers do not know their leaders? These leaders should be acting like leaders, expressing leadership qualities and using leadership skills that would be obvious to anyone under them. But belaying all that, a good leader should be seen, heard, understood and known by ALL of their followers, otherwise who‘s leading whom? Someone might say is TV the place to get leadership advice? There is good advice and bad advice and you can learn from either, if you are paying attention. I also watch “The Apprentice” and “Survivor: ‘Whatever Island’” for the same purpose: to see how people lead and follow under varying conditions. Do not businesses do the same when they throw their people “into the fire”, “under the bus”, “to the dogs” and other such terms? “Survivor: WI” shows everyday people, business leaders and characters using their talents [or not] in competition, under extreme duress, and under...

Organizational Culture

...being (Chegini, 2010). Culture is the essence of what an organization represents, who they are, what they stand for, what they believe in, and what is important to them. One of the better, and simpler, definitions of organizational culture I found is “the shared values and assumptions that guide behavior in an organization” (Çakar, 2010). The fundamentals of corporate culture can include a company’s values, employee expectations, customs, factual or mythical organizational history, language, climate, etc. In some cases, organizational culture is designed and employees are encouraged and expected to achieve it. On the other hand, culture may also develop over time from the attitudes and mentalities of employees. An organizational vision and mission statement may also set the tone for a developing culture (Agin, 2010). No matter the method, there are many ingredients in creating the perfect culture “recipe,” many of which will be addressed later. Many may ask why organizational culture is important and how it benefits the workplace. As Gareth Morgan states, “We choose and operate in environmental domains according to how we...

...Singapore Management University Maters of Science Innovation | Core Module MGMT 661 By Associate Prof. Adel F. Dimian My Definition, Understanding and Response of the Lecture Topic & Discussions. Innovation Strategy Development Part 1&2 When the need of wanting to be different arises, the need to innovate takes a strong hold in one’s mind to bring about new changes that are often challenged in many different styles, manner, methods and modes. To my understanding different types of innovations requires and employs different innovative strategy or strategies. Which in turn determines the growth phase of the organization and its strategic approach and desired outcome of the innovation. Developing an Innovation Strategy Frame Work The Innovative ideas and strategy plans and developments can only take valuable shape and growth with the right leadership and driving force. Therefore with the discussions developed and generated, I have come to an understanding that successful innovation strategy is determined by the true leadership of an innovative leader with an innovative mindset who wants to achieve success for his organization, employees and himself. Instead of being comfortable and clustering around a few achieved strategies, a successful innovative leader begins by setting high targets and aspirations for the organization. Followed by recruiting qualified candidates and instilling tremendous positive energy, spirit and enthusiasm in the work environment. Although...

... 1. What do you think is the most important emerging issue in the design of work? In today’s aggressive business environment, the cutting edge for any business is given by the pace with which it takes decisions to react to changes in the environment, internal or external. A elegant computerized system alone can offer the information and investigation within the shortest possible time. Now-a-days, many organizations are using the computerized systems. They maintain records in a compact manner; facilitating access and recovery, in a flexible way. Products and process alone can’t help organizations to sustain loyal customers. They also need highly-motivated, dedicated and involved employees who are very passionate about their work and their organization; in short, they need “engaged employees”. But, nurturing engaged employees requires a lot of effort and skill 2. Discuss the most likely organizational design for Coca-Cola Company. The most probable organizational design for Coca Cola Company is that the customers are always top main concern and they place high values for their employees. The company objective is to please the clients and anticipate hiring experienced and inspired workers. Managers at the company most possibly have regular meetings with their employees concerning any propositions for new pioneering ideas and traditions to make their jobs more demanding. Leadership: Charismatic Individuals or Contingent Characteristics?

...reliance on the members of the group the “Leader” has to try and influence to reach its target goal. Therefore Leadership is commonly defined as the process of influencing the activities of an organized group in its efforts towards goal setting and goal achievement (Buchanan and Huczynski. 1985, 2010). Leadership appears to be a critical ingredient in effectiveness; a process of social persuasion in which one can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of the target goal. WHO IS A LEADER? This is a question I find compelling. I have read several articles that illustrate that the leader should appeal not only to people’s minds but to their hearts, the leader should have or demonstrate this thorough his or her vision and values. Nevertheless, taking a scientific approach; why should I believe...

Target is one of the largest retail department stores, and a contributing factor to their success is developing employees. Prior to training, Target must conduct a needs analysis to determine if and what training is necessary to achieve the company’s goals and objectives. The first step is to conduct an organizational analysis to review where the organization is in regards to reaching their goals. They analyze what has been accomplished and what still needs to be accomplished to achieve the goals. From the outcome of this analysis, the organization conducts a task analysis to break down the goals into small tasks.
