Career Development Plan Part I

As you may have all heard by now InterClean has merged with EnviroTech. This merger will allow us to bring new innovative and dynamic cleaning solutions for organizations in the health care industry. It is my job as a midlevel sales manager to select new members for my sales team who will be successful in pushing our new products and ideas. It is important that only the best and brightest come aboard this new adventure and opportunity will be given to those who go above and beyond the basic duties. The job analysis method that I feel is appropriate to conduct to hire new salespersons for this position is the job performance method. I chose this method to recruit new salespersons because I felt that it gives a good advantage to the new people apply for this position. By that I mean since the basics of selling can be learned in a relatively short period of time I felt that this was appropriate. The only disadvantage of the job performance method is that it is inappropriate for jobs that require extensive training or are hazardous to perform but in this case neither applies.
Four main job duties and specifications that will apply to the new sales department will first be to develop a sound pitching strategy for new companies to sell our products to. By that I mean each salesperson must have his or her own way of presenting an idea that will convince a prospective client that this is the product and company that is right for them. This will help weed out salespersons that perform better than others. Second, salespersons are responsible for following up on clients and continuing their pursuit of them until they have picked a company to hire. This will show prospective employers that we would greatly appreciate their business and want to

...brand manager's function varies from company to company, but the core job function is to search for the most productive way to build long-term profitability for a product. How you reach this goal can vary widely between consumable and durable goods. Traditional brand management focuses on consumable goods with a short repeat purchase cycle, in which sales respond rapidly to changes in price, product, packaging, distribution and promotion. The typical career path for an MBA is to enter as an assistant product manager and move up to brand manager after three to five years. A brand management team shares the ultimate responsibility for a particular product. Brand management involves developing a strategic direction for a brand based on what consumers want. It is not just about lowering price or creating commercials, although they are elements of a strategic plan. Rather, managing a brand means finding a way to deliver value to consumers. Brand managers lead cross-functional teams to achieve the goals outlined in annual brand plans. Whether it's managing a spending budget or convincing upper management through numeric analysis to "size-up" a package size to boost sales, everything you do funnels towards the goal of selling more units, thus making more profit for the company and putting smiles on shareholders' faces. Although the needs of a particular brand and product often dictate the level of exposure you have to different issues, one thing all brand managers have in common...

Employee Rewards and Development

...Human Resource Management is defined by Boxall et al (2007) as the management of people and work towards desired outcome. The activities involved should be designed in such a way as to ensure effective and efficient use of human talent to accomplish organisational goals. Boselie et al (2005) also places emphasis on gaining ‘added value’ through the strategic development of its resources preferably its staff. To achieve this, “Poacher” and “Gamekeeper” methods would be utilised. “Poacher” can be defined as offering an individual a job who is already employed or to entice them to quit their employment. It is considered as ‘buying talent’ rather than the organisation training to develop its existing staff. Many organisations such as Investment banks poach experienced and competent persons from reputable organisation, where junior professionals are promised higher remuneration and the opportunity to pursue their MBA in business administration. Poaching is achieved by offering a competitive pay package to an individual who may not get this offering from current employer. Organisations who poach attempts to get the individual they desire, so they set high standards in terms of better contract and as such weakens the competitive strength of opponents. An article in the Electronic Recruiters Exchange by Dr. John Sullivan suggested that poaching proactively targets employing uppermost talent from top organisation. It allows the organisation to acquire persons who possess...

Bsn vs Adn.

...Running Head : DIFFERENCES IN COMPETENCIES BETWEEN BSN VERSES ADN. Educational Preparation Shyni Joseph Grand Canyon University 02/17/2013 Nursing is one of the fastest growing occupations in the United States. Quality patient care hinges on having a well educated nursing workforce in the interest of improving patient safety and providing enhanced nursing care. Research has shown that lower mortality rates, fewer medication errors, and positive outcomes are all linked to nurses prepared at the baccalaureate and graduate degree levels. Education enhances both clinical competency and care delivery. The overall outlook of healthcare professions has dramatically changed in the past few decades. In nursing, competencies define the duties and skills required for nursing positions and establish the educational requirements needed to qualify for each nursing title. In its October 2010 report on The Future of Nursing, the institute of Medicine states” an increase in the percentage of nurses with BSN is imperative as the scope of what the public needs from nurses grows, expectations surrounding quality heightens, and the settings where nurses are needed proliferate and become more complex.”In a study released in May 2008 issue of the Journal of Nursing Administration, Dr Linda Aiken and her colleagues confirmed the findings from their landmark 2003 study which shows a strong link between RN education level and patient outcomes, The researchers found that every 10% increase...
