Plan B Career Option:
I.T. Systems Administrator My Plan B career option would be to go to school for Information Technology and become a Computer Systems Administrator because I am interested in learning about Computer Operations and I know a few people in the Information Technology field who enjoy it and make a good living. I think the most rewarding aspect of being a Computer Systems Administrator would be to be a part of an Information Technology team and help my organization to keep the lines of communication open to help organize the company’s workflow. The least rewarding to me would be putting in a lot of hard work and not being able to see the results firsthand from a client’s point of view. The best opportunities for someone entering into the Information Technology field would be a Systems Administrator because most companies with a network infrastructure need someone to help run and maintain their systems. Such opportunities could be with organizations such as banks, hospitals, and military installations. The outlook for this career is that it is projected to grow 12 percent from 2012-2022, about the average for all occupations. Growth will be highest at companies that offer Cloud Computing Technology. There is not an oversupply of people in this field and not so much a shortage either and since the Information Technology field is always steadily growing I would definitely choose this field if I had a chance to make the decision again. Most Systems Administrators work full time and maybe even after hours being on call for companies, but I believe this career path does provide a balance between work and family life. The most important skills and abilities required to work as a Systems Administrator are as follows: Determine what an organization needs in a network and computer system. You must be able to diagnose hardware and software problems and

A sports trainer is a health care professional who has to collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. While a bachelor's degree is not a standard educational requirement, t employers generally prefer applicants who hold bachelor's degrees in fields such as physical fitness, physical education and exercise science. Courses they must take are programs that include sports safety and first aid, anatomy and physiology, human nutrition, exercise physiology and kinesiology. Fitness trainers need to have taken classes such as aerobics, Pilates, and yoga. the average salary of a fitness trainer is $31,720 as of 2012. Another career in sports is a sports journalist. Units 4 & 5 Career Guidance Interviews

...Unit 4 and 5 Evaluate the purpose of different types of career guidance interviews Evaluate methodologies to explore the career guidance and development needs of clients Corney and Watts (1998) define information and advice as; ‘providing an immediate response to the needs of clients who present an enquiry or reveal a need that requires more than a straightforward information response. Advice is usually limited to helping with the interpretation of information and with meeting needs already clearly understood by the client…’ Advice and information is therefore concerned with meeting client’s presenting issues relating to information. The OECD (2004:10) definition of guidance is; ‘Career guidance refers to services and activities intended to assist individuals of any age, and at any point of their lives, to make educational, training and occupational choices and to manage their careers’. This reflects the variety of activities that may take place in supporting clients to move forward. Guidance is about helping clients to understand their own needs, set and review career goals, understand any barriers and to produce action plans. Hambly (2008; 16) refers to the iceberg analogy to explain the process of guidance. The top of the iceberg represents the clarifying and meeting of presented needs which is advice and information and the bottom of the iceberg is about exploring additional needs which is guidance. The guidance element may be about exploring high leverage...

...way out when things get rough. If its a known option women, by nature, are going to be more tempted to utilize the option for their family. Thus, slowing their career. Question Two: I would choose participation. By all associated participating it allows all to be seen equally. Women specifically are very opinionated, therefore having the opportunity to give her thoughts would give her a better opportunity to self promote. Empowerment is a little more in depth and requires more time. Time apparently seems to be an issue with women in the industry, so having the participation method I see would be more effective. They attend the same mettings and voice what they see fit. Thus, taking "less" time for women to prepare their thoughts and enables them to "self promote". Question Three: I feel that my husband and I are actually at that point in our life. We are both college students, full time associates, homeowners, and want a family. We often discuss what our options would be when it came to parenting. How are we going to balance home, work, and childcare? If we weren't on the same page with the future we would sit down and listen to each other. We both must look at the others thoughts as valuable and reasonable. We also need to know exactly what we want out of life and what we want in our careers. Being aware that we are currently in the "hole" financially with student loans, considering where we plan on going with our careers and our plans makes a huge difference on child...

Career Thory

...Abstract The purpose of this paper is to explain the career development process and outline an approach of how to progress through it. I will choose a specific Career Theory from the textbook that fits into my personal beliefs of human behavior and career development. I will provide the main points of this theory and use examples from my life to demonstrate how this theory will be beneficial. I will also identify any potential weaknesses or aspects that I may disagree with. What Is a Career? A career can be defined as the "time extended working out of a purposeful life pattern through work undertaken by the person" (Zunker, 2012). This also includes "activities and positions involved in vocations, occupations, and jobs as well as to related activities with an individual's lifetime of work" (Zunker, 2012). A career should be a job that one benefits from not only monetarily but also in some personal way. People should be careful in choosing a career because most people spend over half of their lives working. If one chooses the right career than they can lead a happier life. So many people have what can be considered job instead of a career. A job where one works only to receive money can lead one to be unhappy and cause quite a bit of stress. Overtime this can have an effect on an individual’s overall health. This is why the idea of career development can be so important. What is Career Development? Career development can be defined as a process in which...
