The companies that will be the focus of my project are Devry University and
Chamberlain College of Nursing, both apart of DeVry Inc. DeVry Inc. is the parent organization for Advanced Academics Inc, American University of the Caribbean, Becker Professional
Review, Carrington College California, Chamberlain College of Nursing, Devry University,
Devry Brazil, Keller Graduate School of Management and Ross University. These institutions offer various programs in business, healthcare and technology and serve students in secondary through postsecondary education in addition to accounting and finance professionals (New York
Times, 2013). Both Devry and Chamberlain have a organizational culture for its students that include fostering a learning environment that focuses in on small class sizes, practitioner faculty, industry focused curriculum and flexible scheduling. However as a former employee of both schools, I experienced that Chamberlain has higher enrollment of students compared to Devry
University enrollment. Enrollment growth is normally critical to the for-profit education companies of DeVry Inc. This is important in order to meet revenue and profit expectations.
Devry Inc. has reported a decline in new undergraduate student enrollment, the company’s largest and most profitable segment. But at Carrington College and Chamberlain College of
Nursing were up, a sign that interests in vocational jobs are increasing (Devick, 2013). The impact of enrollment differ in both schools Devry and Chamberlain because students are grabbing more towards programs with a prominent future and healthcare is the best option compared to business programs. In sum, these are the organizational changes for Devry
University and Chamberlain College of Nursing that explains growth in enrollment which produces the revenue for DeVry
