Today all the Mirabal sisters are honored and recognized as heroines in the Dominican Republic for exposing Rafael Trujillo true colors. He was a cold person who thought that everything was on his time. He also thought that he could make everyone like him and do what he said, but little did he know that he was going to meet a person that change all that and lead to his death six months after the girls died. There’s a lot you will get know about the sisters and what they did to try to get freedom in the Dominican Republic and how they were punished for trying to gain their freedom. Minerva is the one who went against Trujillo she saw what he was doing wrong and she wanted people to know that he is not the leader that they think he is. Maria Teresa is the youngest sister she is the innocent in the whole thing cause she looked up to her sister and she will do anything that they do she is lost in the world not knowing how to make her own decision. She was really a shy girl she even cried when people took her journal, so therefore she really didn’t know what she was getting herself into at the moment until they went to jail. Jail made her more hard cause she had to show no fear while she was in there or she will be a easy target that they will take to talk to and get all the information because she was soft. Dede is the sister that didn’t protest with them because she went by what her husband said and didn’t protest and she was the lucky one that stayed home and was a good girl and that’s why she didn’t get in trouble like the others. They were all bright women who fairly took their piece of education at a time when it wasn’t affordable for women.Except of Dede she stayed at home, taking care of the household.All three sisters were natives of a Dominican Republic.
