[Cher - Chorus]

We ain't ever gonna go grow up, we just wanna get down,

tell the DJ turn it up real loud.

No we'll never grow up and if we had our way,

we would do this everyday.

Lets go!

[Verse]

I gotta flow that'll make you drop, I gotta flow that'll make you pop.

I gotta flow that'll make your mother and your father, call the cops.

We're gonna make this thing go blow, we've got a system overload.

We're gonna be the generation, that makes everything explode.

And when I say explode I don't mean that we using bombs,

We doing stuff that we don't ever have to tell our moms.

Love this life we got, we got it all up in a bomb.

Paper chasin' yeah we buying everything we want!
[Chorus]

Somehow, some way, we're gonna have it our way,

We don't give a what-what you say. NO WE DON'T.

We ain't ever gonna go grow up, we just wanna get down,

Tell the DJ turn it up real loud.

No we'll never grow up and if we had our way,

We would do this everyday.

We ain't ever gonna go grow up, we just wanna get down,

Show everybody who runs this town.

No we'll never grow up and if we had our way,

We would do this everyday.
[Verse]

Do ya? Do ya? Do ya know what I mean?

I'm a princess, I don't wanna be the queen.

Please don't say a thing Mr. Bean,

Every time you talk in' makes me wanna scream!

I dunno what you heard about me, don't remember holdin' out my pinky.

I'm a finish off all these MC's, like they were my cuppa tea.

I gotta flow that'll make you drop, I gotta flow that'll make you pop.

I gotta flow that'll make your mother and your father, call the cops.

Although too little sleep is an effect of stress | | b. too little sleep can cause stress | | | Explanation | The answer is b. The most important thought the author wants readers to understand is that too little sleep can cause stress. The dependent clause, which is introduced by although, tells readers information the author considers less important, that too little sleep is an effect of stress (that is, people who are stressed may not sleep well). Notice that if you read the dependent clause aloud to someone and stopped there, the listener would expect you to add something more. Lyric Censorship: Language Is Power

...Lyric Censorship: Language is Power Words create powerful emotions in all of us. They are used to express our feelings, thoughts and ideas, as well as communicate with one another. There are countless examples in history where we see language equating power. Within those examples we see people in the position of power, using this power of language to degrade their enemies and those they consider beneath them, and shape language in their favor. Music ties into language completely. The words of song lyrics convey powerful messages. As language is power, those in control seek to repress the power of this language in music, attempting to keep the power in their favor. But this attempt at censorship only gives those words even more influence and any attempt to infringe our right to free speech should be fought for to prevent its loss. The censorship of lyrics has occurred globally and can be dated back as far as music and poetry can be traced. Let’s take Asia as an example. Under the ruling of the Taliban in Afghanistan, music became a crime (Korpe, 2004). Instruments were burned, and people were severely punished for singing or creating any kind of music that was not deemed acceptable by the government. In Kabal, President Rabbani went as far as to create an Office for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, which was used to regulate the lyric of song in the favor of the government, and punish those who spoke ill towards those in power. In Pakistan...

The Interpretive Community

...My interpretive community In each and every community have come to encompass a number of aspects of human being as unique or individual personalized by their society. This has led to condemnations of human cloning from the unique side as a human being for a different perspective in life. The culture of India refers to the customs, beliefs, traditions, languages, ceremonies, arts, values and their different life style. For example, when you are standing inside the subway counter like: There are communities of Christians, Muslims at my left hand side; and communities of Hindu, Jain, Sikh at my right hand side! But when I put them together in SUB, it becomes our delicious and beautiful "INDIA"! Indians by nature believes in faith and religion. I grew up in Indian culture as per my parents. So I am the only solid concern and can tell that this community has their own different believes. Being Hinduism, I believe in karma and all mighty. I strongly believe in this statement “God doesn’t give you the people you want, he gives you the people you need. To help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you and to make you the person you were meant to be.” I have a faith in all mighty gods since I was little. There was a time that I feel and saw from my real eyes. One day, my mom was trying to cross to road and suddenly one car passed by her with rear wheel on her one feet. She realize after that car passed but her feet was absolutely fine and nothing happened. She was...

Suprem Court Case

...Huihuhu ihnjikn ujiniu nöipn The moon bows, and we watch it set, thinking it’s for us that it does its dance. But we’re fools, lost in the romance, of a tide that widens with each breath. I didn’t row out, to find the ocean floor, but that’s where I find myself now, in the undertow. I’ve prayed once, and I pray again. I ask G-d to help and not condemn. And I don’t mask myself in humbleness; in arrogance I bend my knees, betting that G-d only values honesty. I didn’t start out, to find the ocean floor, but that’s where I am now, in the undertow. You came to me years ago, a Phoenix without fire, bathed in desire, all I could admire. I’ve loved each part of you, for moments that felt like ours. I kissed and caressed your body on a bed of red and white flowers. I didn’t swim out, of your ocean’s floor, it’s where I felt, most at home. I’ve cherished every laugh, and every smile, with my mind’s eye, I’ve extended every moment into a while. But now I feel the floor drop beneath, feel the need to swim just to breathe, feel you no longer next to me, but a fleeting memory. I didn’t row out, to find the ocean floor. You were never the mermaid I looked for. You were skin and flesh and the smell of love, that I carried beneath my tongue, while hoping G-d would bless us from...

Creative Much Ado About Nothing as Coursework

...Dear Leonato, As you’ve probably heard, I’m travelling back to Messina with Don Pedro. I have to admit, I’m rather nervous about it. I never told you this before but I feel the time has come: I love Beatrice. I ask for your discretion in this matter for it is a very sensitive thing. She is the only person I’ve ever loved and nobody else knows. I’ve conquered many men in battle, even just over these past few weeks, yet I cannot seem to handle Beatrice. Her sharp tongue has cut me far deeper than any sword ever could and still, she is always in my mind. The battle I have just struggled through didn’t end me, but Beatrice’s words certainly will; the double edged sword that will cut me down where no other blade could, for I can’t help but love her more for her wit. She is very special, as you know. Have I ever told you about the first time I met Beatrice? It must have been two years ago, I was in Messina to see an uncle of mine, I hadn’t thought I would be there long enough to fall in love. It’s strange, how quickly that can happen. I was in the market haggling for some bread. I suppose I didn’t really need to haggle, I had the money; I just loved working the men on the stalls down. As soon as I saw Beatrice in the market and heard that she too was haggling with the stall owners, I knew she was something different; something special. I wanted to impress her so I flounced over and introduced myself with such grandeur. My first mistake, obviously. From that moment on she seemed...

How to Sing a Song

... • Get the children to take over the ‘Call’ function as soon as possible from you. You are modelling skills and empowering them to model to each other as well. Children leading others is a very powerful re-inforcer and motivator. 2) Injecting backing tracks into lessons at key points • allows you ‘pick up’ or ‘calm down’ a lesson depending upon the mood. • allows you to overlay any lyrical content that you want to highlight from your lesson. • You can use songs from Sing Up website but you can also simply use the backing tracks of some key songs Example Let’s Dance backing track from Sing Up website Suggest some lyrics to practise to this track from any work you have done today. Can you see a way in which children could be asked to suggest some simple lyrics that summarise key points of a lesson? How would engaging children creatively in the song help them to learn the content of your lessons? How would it affect their attention and involvement? What other ‘support’ might you need to give then to help them come up with some lyrical ideas? How could you build this in to the work you do on a topic so that this support is already there before you play the track? eg: Key word...

No Tolerance and No Bulling Policies

...No Tolerance and No Bulling Policies: Why They Do Not Work "Zero Tolerance Policies" were first instated into schools, to enforce suspension and expulsion, in response to students; violating; weapons, drugs and violent act policies that were already in place. Shortly after, schools began to instate “No Bulling Policies” partly to a high suicide rate among teenagers due to bulling. The consequences for violating these policies can now go beyond expulsion, and have legal implications. In theory these policies are a great idea. Unfortunately, these policies are rarely implemented and carried out correctly, causing them to not just be ineffective; but causing them to have adverse effects. We have tried these policies in our schools , it has been proven that they have done more harm than good; it is now time to remove these policies from our schools. The “school to prison pipeline," is a recent national trend where children are pushed out of public schools, and into the juvenile and criminal justice systems. Many of these children have learning disabilities, histories of poverty, and histories of abuse and neglect. There students would benefit from additional educational and counseling services. Instead, they are isolated, punished and pushed out. Many "Zero-tolerance" policies criminalize minor infractions of school rules. Cops in schools are criminalizing behavior that should be handled inside the school. Students of color are especially vulnerable to push-out trends and the...

Media Studies

...No matter how much time has gone by, good shows remain with us. Boy Meets World, Friends, and Full House were childhood staples of mine that have continually shaped who I am and have entertained me to this day. I seem to resonate with all three shows for various reasons that intertwine among the shows. They include the beauty of love, friendships, and family. In Boy Meets World, I got to understand how valuable love could be through the main characters of Cory and Topanga. The way that their love story played out was how many girls including myself only hope for. The two, who have known each other since childhood, grow to love one another as more than friends. Even with the trials and tribulations that come with young love, the two of them learn the true depth of their love. For example, the two separate themselves from each other at one point because being tougher was getting too difficult. But, they eventually end up back together because they realize that soul mates aren’t meant to part. The show has illustrated that love is something that requires hard work and dedication. With that, it can conquer anything. In addition, Feeny, the school teacher, exuded a different type of love to his students. He was the type of teacher who was always there to listen and help his students through things that went beyond the classroom. For example, he showed so much confidence in Shawn, who was the school’s troublemaker that just wanted to get by with his academics. Feeny always knew...

Field Trip Tp France

...Field Trip Report My field trip report is on a Broadway musical that my husband took me to see just last week in New York City. Based on the popular 1994 film of the same name, Priscilla Queen of the Desert follows two drag queens and a transsexual who buy a run-down old bus (they call it Priscilla) and set out on a road trip across the Australian Outback when one of them, Tick, is invited by his ex-wife to perform his drag show at her far-away resort. I like this musical because it presents my beautiful costumes and the scenes are so magical. The way that this musical is done just shows the talent and dedication these dancers have in the play. Featuring dance and disco tunes from the likes of Madonna, Cyndi Lauper and Donna Summer, Priscilla is filled with incredibly imaginative and over-the-top costumes, drag makeup and dance numbers that maintain an energetic pulse throughout the show. A life size bus even moves around onstage. I went to go see the show and let me tell you that it was the best thing I have ever seen. The costumes, design, facility, and many other things were just amazing. When my husband and I got there to New York City was just beautiful. I have just seen New York in magazines or in television but never in real life. I was just surprised and over helmed of how beautiful time square was. I just felt like if everything was possible in that moment. As we moved further to see the show and went inside the view that we got of the show was just very good. We...

Youth Ministry

...Noah Patrick Pastor Shayne Michael Daughenbaugh Introduction to Youth Ministry May 1, 2014 YOUTH MINISTRY FINAL Many might ask, why is youth ministry important in the church? The answer to this question is very easy, and it is because youth are the leaders, makers, and team members of the future. They are energetic, mature and smart enough to help with a lot of things like, setting up for church, spreading the word of God to the community. It is also necessary because it helps to have important relationships between youth and the youth workers; and youth to youth themselves, it makes great friendships. Going back to the given scenario, of just moving to a new church and want get involved in their YM. When I first get there I have to first learn how things work there. Get to know the people that are already working with the youth if there is any and get to know the youth in the church. As I am observing how things work I need to be asking be keeping my self in check by regularly checking my motives and my heart. Making sure that on my side everything is good with my spiritual life and also I am in good terms with my family. After making sure that I am set and God has given me the go ahead sign. Then I will go and suggest some ideas to the youth leaders that are already trying to pursue the job. Now lets say this church is a Tanzanian church. I am more that 90% sure that there is no church out there that is doing youth ministry that has to do with relational ministry....

Alex Kern’s Don’t Drop Out: Why There’s Still Value in College Rhetorical Analysis

...I took much pleasure in reading your essay “Don’t Drop Out: Why there’s Still Value in College”. As a student of UC Berkley, you recounted your dilemma as to whether to stay in college or drop-out. You made admirable arguments for leaving school but you also made it very clear that graduating from college was the better option. You tried to inform your readers about why they should stay in college and combat the many temptations of dropping-out of college. You accomplished a great deal of success with your writing strategies, pathos, and ethos but not so much with logos. However, your strong ethos and pathos to some extent made up for the lack of evidence (logos) for your thesis that, it is more beneficial for college students to stay in school than to drop out. First, after reading your essay, I deciphered that you used the first part of your strong title ‘Don’t Drop Out’ to identify your target audience. This is an effective strategy to identify your audience because the only group of people associated with the word ‘dropout’ are students in general. You went further and inserted the second part of your chosen title, ‘Why There’s Still Value in College’ to specifically identify college students as your target audience. Your title was also effective because the second part of your title introduced the informative genre of your paper and set the informal tone by the use of contractions that ran throughout your essay. Your strong title also drew your audience in because it...

Swag Is a New Race?

...“Swag, swag on you,” is one of the unacceptable things teens say to show their faith in swag. Students tend to show this newly viral trend all over the internet by taking photos of themselves while wearing caps, huge shirts, baggy pants and doing hand gestures that has a huge connection in slowly losing hope for this generation as adults that notice this say. Inside or outside the school grounds, people see teenagers wearing the swag clothes and bringing pride along themselves. According to numerous adults, those teenagers get influenced by famous artists that spread swag around the globe such as the Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber and English singer Cher Lloyd. More and more teenagers these days, commonly from the Caucasian, Asian and African races are starting to believe in the overused slang word for coolness without any conscientious decisions. Adults never like this new trend as it changes the teenagers from obedient to rebellious. They believe they are better than anyone else by having too much swag. They say every actions they do are cool enough to be praised. Drugs, sex, money are parts of the major problems teenagers in the world cope with. Their obsession with those problems are based on the results of some family dilemmas including lack of parental guidance. Every human in this world must realize that swag has no place anywhere, or does it? People question about how the future will look like if the teenagers in this generation get married someday and make families...

Education

...UNDERLYING CAUSES OF HIGH SCHOOL DROPOUT This paper provides a brief overview of the major underlying causes of high school dropout and its consequences. The subject is directly related to two benchmarks being addressed by many of Georgia’s county collaboratives: “Increase the percentage of students who graduate from school on time” and “Reduce the percentage of students absent 10 days or more from school annually.” The hope is that by understanding the underlying root causes of high school dropout – and its key components - a collaborative can examine relevant data for their local community and develop a comprehensive strategy that produces results. What Are the Characteristics of Students Who Drop Out?_______________ Socioeconomic Background. National data show that students from low-income families are 2.4 times more likely to drop out of school than are children from middle-income families, and 10.5 times more likely than students from high-income families. (3) Disabilities. Students with disabilities are also more likely to drop out. The National Transition Study estimates that as many as 36.4% of disabled youth drop out of school before completing a diploma or certificate. (4) Race-ethnicity. Hispanics and African Americans are at greater risk of dropping out than whites, with Hispanics at a greater risk of dropping out than either white or African American students. Nearly 40% of Hispanics who drop out do so before the eighth grade. (1, 2) Academic Factors...
