Conflict AsJohnson Sr.
11/4/2012

There are all kinds of conflict witnessed from me. You have the Pseudo Conflict where some of the members did not want to hear the perceptions of the problems. You have the Simple Conflict where people had disagreement over the course of action where this was to be expected because this was the cause of the meeting, to agree or disagree with the location of the church. We also had Ego Conflict, where Paul had to throw in that he is the chair of the committee. There was no need for him to state that he was the chair, I am certain that everyone who was there knew that he was the chair of the church.
Some strategies the committee can use to by next month are: * Taking a vote to see which members agree or disagree with moving the church. * Pros and Cons list, moving to the suburbs or staying at the same location. * If they stay at the same location and still need more funding, find ways to raise more money. Ask the local and or federal government for funding options. Try to get the community more involved and raise money to rebuild at the same location. * Ask all members to help with reconstruction. * Gather information on the suburb move funding. * If the church moved to the suburbs, find was of commuting members to the new church.
Some ways to keep the conflict from disrupting the meeting again: * Respect each other. * Share the floor/take turns when talking. * Discuss everyone’s thoughts. * Make everyone feel like they are involved with making a decision.

In conclusion, whatever decision the committee comes to they need to make it the best one. Do you leave a community that has been supporting the church for years?
Do you move your church to the suburbs with hopes of a new building, possibly more money, new members and a new attitude? These are the things the committee needs to ask themselves before any decisions are final.

An Honorable Governorship

...of government officials that perform many different essential job duties. Although I live in Illinois, I thought that it would be interesting to research an individual from another state. Chester “Chet” Culver is the current Governor of Iowa, and has captivated the attention of many citizens of whom he serves. Governor Culver is part of the Democratic party. He is also the first Democrat to be elected governor since 1937. Chet Culver has been Governor in since 2006. With his political experience, besides being Governor of Iowa, he also was elected Secretary of State and was in office from 1998-2006. “Governor Culver began his career as an environmental and consumer advocate in the Iowa Attorney General’s Office. After receiving his Master of Arts in Teaching at Drake University in 1994, he taught government and history at Roosevelt High School and Hoover High School in Des Moines, where he also coached both football and basketball.” ( http://www.governor.iowa.gov/index.php/governor/.) Chet Culver has done many good things for many people he serves dealing with different issues. He was a former teacher that used his teaching knowledge to give strength to Iowa’s educational system. One way he did this was by raising the teachers national pay average. Another thing Chet did was give millions to furnish school improvements. Chet Wilkens

...E: How is your role in government different from an elected official? CW: This role is different from an elected official because it is nominated by the President of the United States. And, you can’t necessarily be biased in this type of position. The requirement for this job is to be independent and see the case from both sides, no matter what your personal point of view is. E: How is it the same? CW: We serve the people. Our jobs kind of work together in a way that is best for the country and serves to everyone’s needs. E: Do you think judges should be elected? Explain why or why not. CW: I don’t believe the people of America should be able to vote a judge into court. There are many different reasons to consider. As I said, a judge must be very independent and not put personal reason into any case. A majority of people believing in certain things or that belong to a certain political party can elect someone who only sees things from that point of view. That’s not necessarily what you want in the court. You want someone who can make decisions based on law. E: What is judicial review? CW: Judicial review is the power to review or cancel laws or acts of government that are not constitutional. E: Please explain the role of judicial review in a case you recently decided. CW: A case I recently worked in involved someone who stole and used people's credit cards from and in different states. The thief was convicted and sentenced to 20 years. However, this person appealed...

Chet Douglass Argumentative Essay

...A true scholar, in my opinion, is a person who not only knows information about math, science, literature, etc., but uses this information to make a difference in the world. Also, a scholar should not just know the information for the sake of knowing it, they should want to continue to learn about the subject, and become more interested in things that have to do with the topic they are learning about. I believe that Chet Douglass is more of a scholar than Gene, and although he doesn’t realize it, Gene makes these points quite clear, although he makes them seem like flaws. The first thing Gene says is that “Chet is weakened by the very genuineness of his interest in learning.” Having an interest in learning is one of the qualifications necessary...

The Norris Company

...three quality printing plants in various locations. The central plant is located just inside the Midvale town limit, and is managed by Chet Craig, an Ohio State graduate who has been with the Norris Company for close to twelve years. Chet feels confident in his accomplishments and contributions in his daily routine tasks. However, although he is getting the tasks at hand completed, he finds he is lacking the opportunity to devote time toward the special projects that come with the ‘executive’ status and pay for which he is recognized. Unsure of what path to follow, Chet is only able to slowly maneuver around these projects, one at a time. As unexpected issues arise throughout Chet’s day, he finds himself under more pressure, with less time to work on his scheduled tasks. His day begins with two employees away from work, one called in sick and the other truant, and both vacancies leave voids to be filled. As Chet completes his daily tour of the plant, he encounters an operator performing poorly, along with a press helper needing constant reassurance. With vital stock items diminishing quickly, and the plant running behind schedule, Chet dedicates much of his day dealing with routine tasks. Throughout the course of taking action, Chet is constantly interrupted with concerns that are unnecessary and unrelated to his current situations. Chet is faced with some of these problems due to a lack of fit between the process and the people within the Norris Company. Productivity...

Deviance
