Have you ever thought about buying a new car? It requires a lot of thought and effort to choose the perfect car. Buying new or used? Does the white or even hot pink suit you better? Automatic or do I need to start getting better at “Stick”? Several questions come to mind while walking the lots and quite frankly it is exhausting. However this is what I found while searching for the perfect car for me.
The Volkswagen Beetle or Chevrolet Equinox was my dilemma. Either the car I have wanted since a child or a something more suitable for my one day family, which I equally love. Now I spent several weeks debating the differences between the vehicles and although the choice was not easy I ended up driving off the lot with a brand new Chevrolet Equinox; and I will explain in further detail how I came to this conclusion.
The next factor was price. No matter what kind of car you get, you’re going to be paying an arm and a leg for it. The 2010 was only on average about $23,000. While the 2013 was about $26,500. In the world of cars that's not that big of a difference. With the way gas prices are sky-rocketing, I wouldn't mind paying the extra money for the new one versus having to pay less on the car but paying to replace the fuel pump and the fuel injectors. In the long run, it is not a very good idea.
The gas mileage on a 2010 Equinox is about 28 highway MPG. While the 2013 Equinox gets about 32 highway MPG. That's a big difference! With the way gas prices are, we need as many MPGS’ as we can get! As the car gets older and gets driven more, the fuel pump and fuel injectors start to wear out, and those are pretty expensive fixes. It’s not something that you have to replace often, but when it does need to be replaced, you don't want to be stuck with the bill.
Next was the interior. Even though the outside of the car has been the same for the past 8 years, the inside has drastically changed. If you have a family or are trying to start one, this car is perfect. The 2013 has a new foldable third row seat, while the 2010 only had the two standard rows. When you are a mommy with a ton of stuff, or a ton of kids, that third row makes all the difference. Another new feature is the touch screen panel in the front. There are no knows or buttons for the radio, only a big LED touch screen. It’s great because it's not only touch, but voice activated. So when you are not able to touch the screen yourself, you’re able to tell it what to do. It makes the car a lot safer so you’re never having to take your eyes off the road.
The customer reviews were a big help. Most agreed that both cars were awesome cars to have, but with some of the fuel issues, they agreed the the newer car was the way to go. So I've decided the 2013 Chevy Equinox was the car for me. Several factors helped me decide on this choice. After reading and researching, I am confident in my choice on buying a newer car.

Planning for the Chevy Volt

...Closing case: Planning for the Chevy Volt 1. What does the Chevy Volt case tell you about the nature of strategic decision making at a large complex organization like GM? From the case we can see that strategic decision making at a large complex organization like GM has to be decided by several divisions before they can execute so it takes time and may affect at time the company launch new project to the market it may be changed. Moreover the large organization concerned about their past failure to keep improve the quality of product so they would spend more time and may miss the opportunity for some market situation. 2. Christmas Vacation

...t was Thursday morning, December 23, and I rolled over and tried to focus a bleary eye on my alarm clock. I was 30 minutes late starting my Christmas vacation. Vacations are suppose to be fun, restful periods, so I had a strong inclination to do that and go back to sleep. But no, that’s not the American way. We have to go, go, go in order to get the most out of our vacations. We set schedules, make reservations and become slaves to them. I started wishing I were Samoan. Many folks stay home and celebrate Christmas with family and friends, but not me. I am a bachelor who likes to take every opportunity to go places and see new things. I have no family except two sisters – one 500 miles away and the other 3000 miles away. I had a month off from work, and I certainly wasn’t going to waste it hanging around the house and watching myself grow old. I had packed the previous day and partied the previous night, so my things were ready but I was not. It is difficult to overcome the urge to stay in bed and say the heck with plans. I’m not sure why I didn’t. I made my unsteady way into the bathroom where a hot shower put me in a better frame of mind. An hour later my dog Nina and I were in my truck and headed for the stable to get my horse and trailer. Nina and my horse are my immediate family, so I like to take them with me on vacation whenever possible. At the stable a colleague of mine, Pam, was visiting my horse BJ. She watched as I quickly hooked up my trailer and loaded BJ...

Ford and Chevy

...Topic Proposal (Week 1 Assignment) For my course project I have chosen to compare and contrast the organizational changes in the two publically traded companies of General Motors (GM) and Ford. The North American companies were both founded in the state of Michigan. General Motors Corporation (now known as General Motors Company) was founded in the year 1908 by William C. Durant in Michigan. Ford Motor Company was founded in June of 1903 by Henry Ford. Only GM received federal assistance from the US government’s treasury department (Klier & Rubenstien, 2012). The program that provided this assistance is called TARP: The Trouble Asset Relief Program. TARP contributed to saving millions of American jobs in the auto industry; and also preventing the complete collapse of the American auto industry itself. During the US economic crisis in the early 2000’s both GM and Ford faced major pressures to change in order to survive. Both companies suffered losses of millions of dollars and were left with making major decisions to restructure, rebuild, and re-organize their companies if they wanted to stay in business. Similar changes that both companies made were in leadership, manufacturing, and employee relations. Ford has made a comeback by adding new products and redesigning older models (Tepper, 2014). GM made changes by cutting its least profiting products and improving its higher selling cars. I am interested in this topic because although this was a major story almost a decade...

Essay On Chevy Day

...I remember waking up that morning as my best buddy Chevy stares right at me from the floor beside the bed. He already knew we were going hunting that day. He stayed up all night anticipating this day since he saw me getting our gear together the night before. Creeping around the house, trying not to wake up the girls, we slipped outside to warm up the truck. Although it wasn’t much past midnight, I could tell by looking at the clear sky and feeling the frigid cold air that we should anticipate having a very good day. Now Chevy was fearless, he could hunt to some extent in all weather conditions. Yet for myself, after leaving the house, I began second guessing if I had on enough clothes and if I had packed up all the right cold weather gear....

Louis went on to tell me that a lot of research goes into the making of General Motors products so that any issues with the vehicle are worked out by the company, rather than the vehicle be produced and issues being found by the customer. Chevrolet has not only built quality, they made it part of the American tapestry with cars like the Chevy Camaro, which made its showing in 1967 and has been followed by the public ever since. Unlike similar muscle cars, the Camaro was not just a flash in the pan; its production did not stop until 2002. The Camaro returned to production in 2008 because of public outcry. Because of its popularity when the Camaro was reintroduced it was featured at the 2008 SEMA show. Cheers of the Camaro’s return at the show are more proof of the effect of the Chevys superior quality on the American people. Because of the long asked question, what do we if fossil fuel...
