Is music today taking it a step too far? According to Smilkstein (1999), violence occurs in 57% of rap and rock videos and sexual intimacy in 75%. Of videos with violence, 81% also contained sexual references, (p. 1). Music has been around for centuries and affecting teens in all sorts of different ways. Violence and bad situations are not the only thing that comes out of music. Christian music affects religious listeners in a much different way than rap music would affect a teen today. This paper will deal with all the effects, positive and negative, of music and teenagers. The music being discussed will be rap, rock and roll, heavy metal, country, and Christian. So to get a better understanding, I asked her some questions to help me with my paper. During my research I found that the Deliverance Ministry refers to the activity of cleansing a person of demons and evil spirits in order to address problems manifesting in their life as a result of the presence of said entities and the root causes of their authority to oppress the person. Adherents to this theological concept attribute physical, psychological, spiritual and emotional problems that people suffer to the activities of the oppressing spirits following the example of Jesus Christ given in the gospel. The practices and many of the underlying beliefs of these ministries are not accepted by all Christians. This religious group differs from others in a few different ways. Abstract: Binge drinking and alcohol incurred road accidents by youth are a growing concern in Australia; issues which governments are looking for strategies to control. One solution that is currently being debated is to increase the minimum legal drinking age from eighteen to twenty-one. This option would create some unintended consequences that will adversely impact Australia’s youth and the Australian events industry. Alcohol is integral to the success of any large scale licenced event as it encourages attendance, is a key profit source and often is the main source of sponsorship. This paper evaluates the beneficial and detrimental effects of changing the legal drinking age in Australia, focusing on the potential detrimental impact such a move would have on youth and Australian music festivals.
