STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Thanks to the ‘Big, Bigger, Biggest’ on the National Geographic Channel who keeps me realizing that ‘An Extraordinary Engineering is a Predictable.’ I have been astonished every time I see it. Seeing the manner in which the Tall Buildings, Dams, Bridges are built and various processes involved instilled a desire in me to be part of the whole process. This coupled with a natural flair for science and mathematics motivated me to take up engineering in college. The reason I took up Civil Engineering was not only I had a passion for structures which are the biggest, tallest, longest, or deepest in the world; but also I wanted to make a difference and shape the built environment.

At Silver Oak college of Engineering and Technology, studying subjects like Building and Town planning, Structural analysis, Advanced Construction Technology, Professional Practice and Valuation gave me a clear vision of what is needed to be done. When our college curriculum lacked, I pursued additional courses and seminars on my own. Each passing day brought in more opportunities to learn and stretch my capacity to work and also it involves lot of field work, unlike other fields where monotony governs in working environment. Nowadays, minimum cost and maximum value and to pursue perfection in the execution of a construction project …show more content…
Moreover before arriving at a graduate program, I am currently working on last year project on ' Analysis to Reduce Accidents of Road User at Intersection using Hindrance.' This is again bit costly method to implement in traditional system. In this method we are using bollard system at intersection which will run with the help of solar power and will be connected to signal timer so that it will mitigate accidents and also traffic congestion. This system can also be beneficial near

Statement of Purpose

...Sample Statement of Purpose: MBA The term “globalism” has become overused, and often misused. In fact, we might say that it has actually been devalued to the level of the everyday language of buzzword-brandishing marketing pundits. Such freewheeling usage has perhaps prompted many a CEO (or future CEO) to launch into a global plan or strategy without proper consideration of the demands and dynamics of the international marketplace. Many would-be globetrotters neglect the acquisition of language skills, knowledge of foreign trade and tax laws, accounting standards, etc., all of which are necessary to effectively “go global.” Superficial knowledge only leads to failure. This has, indeed, happened, and while there is no doubt that neglecting to capture the gains achievable in overseas markets is equally suicidal, misguided attempts at competing globally (along with rapidly developing opportunities in the global marketplace) have placed a dramatic premium on individuals who take the time to properly train themselves in international business. For me, the Columbia MBA is a significant component of this training. I foresee my own career moving in the direction of European/American business, initially from an advisory perspective (i.e. investment banking or consulting) and ultimately from a leadership role within a manufacturing entity, preferably a start-up venture. This prophecy, in part, has evolved from my past experiences in western and eastern Europe which, in turn, have formed...

...STATEMENT OF PURPOSE INTRODUCTION & ACEDEMIC BACKROUND Myself XYZ, I completed my 10+2 in science stream in the year 2009 from Himachal School Education Board with 71%. After that I joined a Bachelor’s Degree of Technology in Civil Engineering. My decision to apply for a Civil Engineering Degree after 10+2 is driven by my aspirations as I am very interested in construction field since my school time as I used to go with my father at the construction sites and my father encouraged me a lot to choose this field. It was a day of achievement for me as I accomplished the call of the almighty to become a Civil Engineer like my father. I have completed my Bachelors of Technology degree from Lovely Professional University, a premier institution in north India with a good percentage of above 70%. Now I have taken admission in Construction Project Management in Conestoga College and this field interests me because of its huge demand in construction industries. It was during my academics where I learned a variety of interesting subjects through which I got to know the concept of comprehensive technical techniques involved in construction and civil engineering field. The hunger for knowledge led me to constantly strive hard in order to graduate with a first class at first attempt. As my interest was more in technical terms involved in management of construction projects, as compared to other subjects, so in third last year of my Civil Engineering Degree, I joined special elective...

Civil Engineering.

...rCivil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works such as bridges, roads, canals, dams and buildings.[1][2][3] Civil engineering is the oldest engineering discipline after military engineering,[4] and it was defined to distinguish non-military engineering from military engineering.[5] It is traditionally broken into several sub-disciplines including environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, municipal or urban engineering, water resources engineering, materials engineering, coastal engineering,[4] surveying, and construction engineering.[6] Civil engineering takes place on all levels: in the public sector from municipal through to federal levels, and in the private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies. ------------------------------------------------- History of the civil engineering profession Engineering has been an aspect of life since the beginnings of human existence. The earliest practices of Civil engineering may have commenced between 4000 and 2000 BC in Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia (Ancient Iraq) when humans started to abandon a nomadic existence, thus causing a need for the construction of shelter. During this time, transportation became increasingly important leading to the development of the wheel and sailing. Until modern times there was...

Statement of Purpose

...Statement of Purpose - MBA 1.  Studying for an MBA requires a certain determination and strength of character. In recent years, the business world has become rapidly integrated across once restricting borders, and anyone with high goals in the business world must have an international perspective and be aware of the realities of different international arenas. I am unique, and uniquely fortunate, to have a diverse background both academically and professionally which has exposed me to different continents, peoples, cultures, and languages. As a native of Asia, I am familiar with the increasingly important markets of this region, and as such I am thoroughly prepared for the demands and challenges presented by undertaking study in the MBA program at your institution.   From a young age, I set goals beyond those of my peers. I decided to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in International Hotel Management, but in recognition of the limitation of programs in this field in my native country, I decided to pursue my undergraduate degree in Europe. The international hotel management course I joined was run by Goodwell University in the UK, and due to the experience of the instructors and the overall sophistication of the program, I received an incredibly valuable learning experience, beyond that which I could have received elsewhere. My undergraduate coursework at Goodwell University focused on management marketing, accounting, and various aspects of tourism. I received broad business-based...

Spiritual and Educational Needs Satisfaction of Mechanical Engineering Students of Lyceum of the Philippines University

...the clock radio that wakes you up, and the car, bus, or bike you take to school. You use calculators, computers, stereos, and phones throughout the day. Finally, you come home and use the microwave, stove, refrigerator, and electric can opener as you help with dinner. Our lives are a lot easier today, thanks to the mechanical engineers who imagined and built these tools. In a world where we depend on machines more than ever before, mechanical engineers keep things running. Mechanical Engineering is one of the broadest professions. The women and men in the mechanical engineering profession work in almost every industry, in private practice, in government, in medicine, in law, and in universities. Mechanical engineers touch almost every aspect of technology. They create machines, products and technological systems that benefit society. Their work can take them around the world - anywhere there are machines, there are mechanical engineers. The above statements prove that mechanical engineering is not an easy profession. This is the reason why we should consider the spiritual and educational needs. Spirituality means different things to different people. Some persons have religious needs. Spirituality can refer to an ultimate or an alleged immaterial reality an inner path enabling a person to discover the essence of his/her being; or the “deepest values and meanings by which people live.” Educational needs, on the other hand are those that has something to do with their attitudes...
