When you work together as a team there are many different personalities and work ethics. As a team you have to come together to agree on different things that you need to make sure you are on the same page on. Some of those things are values such as reliability, communication, attentiveness, flexibility, commitment and respect of each other, and more. The list can be so long that fulfilling to all these conditions is pretty much impossible; human personality varies from one to another, and circumstances of the life may interfere in a daily basis in people behaviors. However, one value that appears to be nearby to all people and that is indispensable for a conflict resolution in our team is the general interest.
As a group there needs to be open communication within the team. If there is a problem, restricting you from doing your portion, please pay the team a courtesy and let us know as soon as the issue arises. We cannot know what is going on in each other’s lives unless we communicate an emergency and discuss alternatives. Professionalism is a major part of respect within the group and if everyone can maintain their own professionalism when communicating to the team we should have no problems. Having the general interest requires thinking first about the interests of the group prior to self-interest. Prioritizing the general interests involved communicating with others when necessary, respecting others, being active participants, being dedicated and loyal; it also requires caring about others and their limitations. As a team, we should prioritize the general interest. There needs to be a reasonable deadline for all assignments and stick to that deadline unless otherwise informed. Time management is also a major factor that must be maintained within a group because it is not just my grade but my team’s as well. Everyone should check in throughout the week so that everyone knows where each person stands. I would propose logging on at least every other day just to check the team forum whether it is from the mobile app, a tablet, or a telephone. The team needs to know how everyone’s progress is throughout the week. The instructor requires us to participate in the main forum 3 days, which should apply as well to the team forum. Even if it is just a simple message of “I’m here, I will start the assignment Friday” just give the team an idea of where you are at with your portion. It is also important that everyone contributes. Each team member will be assigned a part to do every week. All assignments will be split up equally. The strategy will be to set a date and time for assignments to be completed and agree on them. If someone cannot make deadline than we should work together to make sure that someone can take over, but it is important to make sure the workload is fair for everyone. If for some reason you cannot meet a due date, please let the team know when you can have your portion in and as a team, we will make the choice to accept the work later or if we are getting to close to the assignment due date, we will make a choice for another team member to finish the portion. At that time the team will decide on if the Team Member should receive partial credit for the assignment by how much they have contributed to the team, if they were able to notify in a timely manner that couldn’t complete their section and if any of the their portion was completed. If a Team Member fails to contribute to the assignment and discussion, than their name will not be on the assignment for that week. Failure can occur in several ways including omission of work and work submitted tardily. According to the University Of Phoenix regulation, omission to offer an individual input in a team leads to serious consequences for all, as well for the deficient member as for the team. The deficient member faces the risk to receive an F while the whole team faces the risk to have its score considerably reduces. Instead, work submitted tardy reduce the score of the entire team in a considerable way. To prevent that, general interest should be predominant and it should be materialized by an active participation of all. When one of the team members cannot complete an assignment, communication should take the relay. He should contact the team and explain his difficulty, and explain the way in which he expects to be helped. In the other hand, any of the team members should express the general interest by covering the work left over as soon that it is observed a failure. If the team member continues to fall behind and does not contribute to discussion or assignments, the team will make the decision to reject the team member from the team for the remainder of the course. Their excuse for not completing an assignment must be under extreme circumstances In conclusion, if there are any problems with any team member we will all discuss together professionally to see what we can do to help each other in whatever areas are needed. The most important thing that is going to make this team experience different from any past team experiences is going to be that we are going to be adults about everything and make sure that we work together to make sure that everything is completed and turned in on time. If we can communicate and work together then this should be a great learning team experience. As a team we need to have general interest is the best value. It is imperative for all members to adhere to all principles that govern it.
