Two friends who grew in different parts of world ended up in the same medical school. But what makes this story eye-opening is their respective upbringings not much so their success in that field. Clarence Huckabee grew up in Potomac, Maryland as an only child, where his parents were both surgeons. The mother is a heart surgeon and the father was a general surgeon in the nearby hospital. Clearance grew up in an affluent environment that enabled him to thrive academically. Clarence has always been a bright student in school and was never deprived of resources or support in pursuit of his academic endeavors. After high school, Clarence enrolled in John Hopkins University for the fall semester of 2008. Due to the status of the Huckabee family, Clarence success was inevitable because of the education given to him, which paved the way for him to be anything he wanted to be. The house of opportunity was wide open for him and he could pick any door he wanted. Johnathan Kanu grew up in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Jonathan’s father was a butcher at the family shop and his mother died from a stroke which was caused by a blocked brain vessel in the brain when he was 14 years old. The closest school to Johnathan's was 12 miles away and with no car that appeared like an expedition. Mr. Kanu wanted Johnathan to work at the shop to support his two younger sisters but Johnathan said that “If I got an education, then I can be bigger than a butcher”. Johnathan took an anatomy class in school in which he fell in love with and wanted to learn all about the body and its systems. One day, Johnathan bought a 40 Naira (Naira is Nigerian currency) “Introduction to Anatomy” book in which he read and studied every night. With that said, Kanu would ride his bike to school every
