“CO-EDUCATION AND PEOPLE PERCEPTION AND NEED OF STUDENT’S COUNSELING”
ABSTRACT:
Education is the fundamental right of every individual. Today, those societies have excelled in every field of life where man and woman are provided equal opportunities for education. It is common believed that for the development of adolescents, segregated schooling system is better than co-education. While co-education plays an important in the development of both male and female. By studying in the same institution together, male and female acquire maturity through interaction and sharing of personal experiences at an early age than in separate institution. But there is a somewhat persistent belief amongst many parents that single-sex is best, especially for girls. Secondary school students do not know how to control their feelings and emotions and how to release their tension. They, at this stage, usually feel attraction in opposite gender, act highly emotional in different matters and no proper guidance is provided to them. Counseling is a wonderful modern invention. The term ‘school counselling’ broadly refers to the process of meeting the needs of students in several areas , such as academics, society, career, and personal. The purpose of the study is to change the people perceptions about coeducation and to develop a knowledge about behavior changes and need of counseling in students.
This is a deductive kind of research as it is designed to test the hypothesis and getting some outcome. Primary data will be collected from questionnaire. A written close ended questionnaire will prepare for this research, from which quantitative data would be obtained. Targeted populations for this research are parents and students from both types of schooling system.

This study would be helpful and encouraging the students to identify their counseling needs and problems and solve their problems through consultation of good counselor as counseling programs serve as a bridge towards improving academic achievement which in turn will aid in the long run toward national development .Co-education can be used as a positive tool to enable women and man to understand each other while having positive interactions. In this era when the ‘corporate world’ is rising and it requires the contribution of both men and women together with a great piece of co-operation, only the co-education can make a big difference. This atmosphere helps them to develop themselves personally and professionally and in the future they very set forward the country and the world as well.

The formative years of children are the best time to expose them to the company of the other gender, in order that they may learn each others’ behaviour and be better prepared for adult life. Co-ed school provides a superb environment and opportunity for both sexes to mix, for example, boys and girls get to learn together in key learning area from maths to food tech. As a result, male students (or vice versa), girls may become more confident and comfortable in dealing with the opposite sex without being shy or embarrassed. Here Dionysus has filled the place of Eros, or, as I shall argue, Dionysus represents the same universal force as Eros in the earlier books. These divinities, Eros/Dionysus, Pan, and the Nymphs, directly influence the lives of the titular protagonists. Their influence serves different purposes depending on what the situation calls for, but, overall, the influences could be labeled as such: Eros/Dionysus controls their lives, the Nymphs nurture the youths, and Pan enflames their passion. In many Greek novels, Eros functions as a stock figure, “not much more than a convenient method of setting [the] plot in motion” (Turner 119). Critics have heavily studied the role of Eros in this novel, and many find that the text of Daphnis and Chloe can be seen as an introductory text for syncretic monotheistic religions, specifically that of Orphic Dionysus. This argument holds valid, yet, I think, over reads the text, and Chalk admits as an introductory text, it is merely “allusive” and not clearly instructive (36).
