What events brought the use into WWII there were a couple of things leading up to the involvement. One would be Germany had a plan to try to prevent Britain from getting their supplies for war by using unrestricted submarine ware force or known as the German U-boats. Allied ships were the only ones being sunk by this however, the “Lusitania” held large amount of passengers and many of them died. At this time the US threatened to go to war but due to Germany backing down. Germany attempted to bargain and started up sinking ships however, this time was allied and neutral ships. Another event leading up to the involvement was the economy downfall due to the stock market collapsing in the 1900’s. With the problem it just increased the tensions which lead up to the fight between Communist and Nationalist. With Adolf Hitler’s National Socialist (Nazi) party coming into power which we lead was ruthless and cold hearted. However Hitler there was more than those issues that gave him the spark it was also the racist and anti-Semitic ideologies and seeking to remake Europe. A rare luxury in the West, the Mercedes — usually secondhand and smuggled in — is the commonest of cars in the Levant. It has become what horse, mule, and camel were, and then much more. Universal taxi, it is a symbol of modern technology domesticated, of the intrusion of the West into traditional life, of illicit trade. More important, the Mercedes is the all-purpose conveyance, something one uses for everything — funerals, weddings, births, proud display, leaving home, coming home, fixing, stealing, reselling, running away in, hiding in. But even while laboring under the supervision of others, wage earners have never been slaves, because they have recourse from abuse. They can quit to seek better employment. Or they are free to join with others to take collective action, forming political movements or labor unions. By the end of the nineteenth century, labor unions and labor-oriented political parties had become major forces influencing wages and working conditions. This article explores the nature and development of labor unions in the United States. It reviews the growth and recent decline of the American labor movement and makes comparisons with the experience of foreign labor unions to clarify particular aspects of the history of labor unions in the United States. Unions and the Free-Rider Problem Quitting, exit, is straightforward, a simple act for individuals unhappy with their employment.
