EAST MEETS WEST.
These twin revolvers are a tribute to a defining moment and place in this nation’s history: the official completion of the Transcontinental
Railroad on May 10, 1869, in Promontory Summit,
Utah. These firearms attempt to honor the perseverance and talents of all who worked to complete this engineering marvel. The success of this railroad opened a new chapter in our nation’s history, and through its completion, the development of the West was realized and
America was forever changed. It’s a fitting tribute, artistically rendered upon an another impressive innovation – the Colt Single Action
Army® Revolver.
Assigned to these two Colt Single Action Army
Revolvers are the special Serial numbers East
1, which is for Engine 119, and West 1, which is for Engine 60, named JUPITER. Features include:
Caliber .45 Colt, 7 ½ inch Barrels, Black Powder
Screwless Frames, Beveled Cylinders with elongated Flutes. Special attention was given to the genuine Ivory grips. These revolvers shipped from the factory in the white on December 19,
2011 to Colt Master Engraver Leonard Francolini.

From Belleau Wood, through the battlefields of Normandy, to the jungles of Vietnam, the legacy of the
Colt Government Model® is well earned. This combat proven firearm has served our Armed Forces for more than a century, and is perhaps the most relied-upon weapon in Colt’s history. Featuring the legendary Series 70™ firing system, it is a faithful reproduction to Government Models manufactured prior to World War II. This pistol also features an arched steel mainspring housing and a short steel trigger. A standard safety lock, standard grip safety and spur hammer complete this authentic homage to Colt semi-automatics of days gone by.

HAND CRAFTED BY THE COLT CUSTOM SHOP
More than 100 years ago, the Colt M1911 was chosen as the official sidearm for America’s Armed Forces. Today, a Colt M1911 is once again serving our country’s military. After a rigorous selection process, the United States
Marine Corps selected the Colt Rail Gun® as their Close Quarters Battle
Pistol. This marks the first time since the end of World War II that a Colt
M1911 is being shipped to the United States Government. To honor the brave men and women of this important staple of America’s military might, the Colt O1070CQB will be made available in limited quantities through the
Colt Custom Shop. Marking this historic firearm is its desert tan Cerakoted stainless steel receiver and slide, Novak® LoMount 3 dot tritium night sights and flat, serrated mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Along with its patented look, the pistol also features an enhanced hammer, Colt tactical ambidextrous safety lock, and a 5” National Match® barrel. The Colt Custom
Shop performs hand fitting of critical mating parts and each firearm is test fired by the Custom Shop and supplied with the actual test target. That’s how proud we are of this gun, and we know you’ll be proud to own it

Continuous Mil-Spec Rail from the rear of the upper receiver to the front sight

LE6940

LE6940

For those who set the bar. Some operators demand a little more out of their MilSpec AR-15 – the enhanced accuracy of a free float barrel, the unparalleled zeroretention of the monolithic upper receiver with fixed rails at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock positions, enabling users to swap accessories back to the same positions without the need to re-zero. This is the Colt LE6940’s wheelhouse. When every moment counts - don’t think, just do.

More than 175 years ago, an obscure young seaman, Calcutta bound, carved a model of what was destined to become the world’s most famous revolver from a block of wood. His name was Samuel Colt, and from the spark of his inventive genius, came the modern firearms of today. One would have to search diligently through the pages of history to find a more romantic and glamorous figure than Samuel Colt. His was the mind of a genius, a planner and a dreamer, all in one. His vision was not local, but worldwide. His ambition exceeded mere prosperity and power. Complete satisfaction could only be his when he had reached the pinnacle of his chosen field. His own deeds and the life he lived have immortalized him, and the products that still bear his name are a constant tribute to his ability and his resourcefulness. Samuel Colt’s effort to market his inventions is a record of amazing courage, ingenuity and perseverance. That one so young in years and so handicapped by poverty and lack of prestige could prevail against such odds is one of the marvels of individual American enterprise.

...COLT 102 February 13, 2015 K. Calhoon Essay Assignment Write a four-page essay (printed, double-spaced) based on one of the following prompts: • Gwendolyn Brooks’ “The Ballad of Rudolph Reed” presents a sequence of events culminating in Rudolph Reed’s death. Canto 33 of Dante’s Inferno presents a similar sequence in which the death of Ugolino’s sons and eventually Ugolino himself is described. Look at these two texts carefully. Compare and contrast the ways in which Brooks’ and Dante’s language develop this crescendo of despair. Note: We are not asking you to tell us what happens but how words work to create expectations, foster tension, etc. • In his “Open Letter on Translation,” Martin Luther faults his detractors for their literalism. Explain Luther’s position, and discuss it in relation to Dante’s Inferno, using examples from the latter text to illustrate where the ability to differentiate between the spirit and the letter matters. • Shakespeare’s Henry IV and Molière’s The Bourgeois Gentleman are very different plays. Both, however, are rich in comedy. Each also contains a play within a play. Compare them with respect to this particular aspect. Analyze each play within a play, and use this as an opportunity to reflect on the nature of comedy as such. Please make use of Aristotle’s Poetics as a possible guide in your discussion. • We have dealt extensively with gesture in the course of our discussions, observing how, in plays such as Molière’s The...

Can your home-defense gun be loaded and quickly accessible, yet still be safe? Our handgun editor says "Yes!" and offers several proven strategies. Guns Magazine , Jan 1, 2002, by Massad Ayoob If you keep a gun in your home or workplace, it's only common sense that it be loaded and quickly accessible. The same common sense, however, also tells us the firearm should be inaccessible to children, incompetent adults and unlawful intruders. Having both at once is a tall order, but that doesn't make it impossible. Let's look at a broad spectrum of armed citizens and police officers in this country who have found that when it comes to this important matter -- you can have your cake and eat it too. In The Home John is a detective and gunfight winner who works for a large, West Coast jaw-enforcement agency that serves a very high-crime community. He has investigated a number of violent home invasions, many of which had tragically fatal results. Though most of these were "drug dealer invading and ripping off rival dealer" situations, a disturbing number involved innocent, law-abiding citizens who were helpless once their doors were kicked in. When John gets dressed for work in the...

Kurt Cousins In The NFL

...from the least to the most likely to take a shot on Griffin for the upcoming 2016-17 season: The No Way, We’ve Got a HOF QB Under Center Already Group: - New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers, New York Giants Each of these teams can claim to have a future or near-lock Hall of Fame quarterback under center. None of these teams would be looking to add Griffin unless he’s looking to ride the bench for a number of additional years. The No Way, We’ve Got A Young QB Under Center Already Group: - Seattle Seahawks, Atlanta Falcons (though Matt Ryan needs to step up), Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, Tennessee Titans, Oakland Raiders Each of these team can look under center and justify that they have a player close to or above Griffin’s upside and age already. Been There, Done That Group: - Washington Redskins Something tells me Washington will not be looking to bring back Griffin in 2016, thus seeing what they have with Kurt Cousins in the upcoming season. It’s much more likely that combative politicians in Washington D.C. join hands before Griffin returns to the Capitol area. We Like What We Have, But….. Group: - San Diego Chargers, Arizona Cardinals, Chicago Bears, Kansas City Chiefs All of these teams have veteran quarterbacks that have put up good numbers and winning seasons, though each of the quarterbacks...

This is not only because the label and advertisements Heileman used imply the alcohol content of the new product, but also the main consumers the new product targeting are those who are inner-city, and lower-income blacks and this population group suffered disproportionately from alcohol-related disease. Eventually, in face of continuing protest from community and regulatory pressure, Heileman had to give up the paln to introduce its Colt 45 PowerMaster brand. Heileman was one of America’s oldest and most venerable brewing companies. However, in the mid-eighties, Heileman met some financial problems and even faced the crisis of bankruptcy. According to the research, Heileman marketing director found that higher alcohol content malt liquor category is where the consumer is going and low-income blacks are main consumers in this category. At this point, the company decided to focus on malt liquor segment, offer a higher alcohol content product called Colt 45 PowerMaster and primarily focus on the black, inner-city, and lower-income consumers. However, the market strategy of the new product was not as good as Heilemnet expected. In contrast, the strategy results in a lot of the controversies...

Why Sports Teams Relocate

...the cultural and the economic dimensions of the sports for their own purposes. This is what is known in the sports industry as "playing the field". In the last decade, almost all the big cities in the United States, and a few small cities as well, have battled with each other for the right to host big league franchises. Cities spend hundreds of millions of dollars to build new stadiums and offer enticements to private franchise owners. Politicians often push for stadiums and other favors to teams despite not having support from neighborhoods and general opposition across the whole city, especially where these high dollar stadiums would be built. Some of the most prolific franchises in sports, like the Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Colts of the National Football League, have moved to other cities breaking off their loyalty to the hometown fans. More important than the actual moves are the more frequent threatened moves. When teams "play the field" and explore the option of playing in other cities they are able to lure interested cities into giving them just about any royalty they want. New stadiums are only the beginning. The willingness to threaten departure has secured for teams a variety of land deals, lower taxes, more revenues from parking and concessions, control of stadium operations,...

Ideal Gas Law Report

...In the 2015 AFC Championship football game, opponents Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots went head to head for the title and bling. With the New England Patriots earning the title, later became allegations against the Patriots for the deflation of eleven out of twelve footballs. In my opinion the deflation of the footballs has relation to the Ideal Gas Law. Footballs contain volume and pressure, the pressure in the ball helps the player to grip the ball, the volume helps the ball travel through the air. With a little less pressure the ball would be easy to grip or catch, even throw. An ideal gas law describes the relationship between ideal gases. “the volume of a gas depends solely on the number of moles of its molecules, not on the...

...“Equal in Sports” The names of the three articles that are being used are “Minorities Coaches Do Not Face Discrimination in Hiring,” “Decision Making in Hiring: Intercollegiate Athletics Coaches and Staff,” and “Tackling Unconscious Bias in Hiring Practices: The Plight of the Rooney Rule.” The authors of the article that I am refuting, “Minorities Coaches Do Not Face Discrimination in Hiring,” are Roger Clegg and Greg Franke. This article was published in Opposing Viewpoints: Sports and Athletes in 2005. Also, there are two peer-reviewed articles that I am using to support my argument. The authors of one the editorials, “Decision Making in Hiring: Intercollegiate Athletics Coaches and Staff,” are Keith Harris, Richard E. Lapchick, and Neza K. Janson. This editorial was published in New Direction for Institutional Research in the winter of 2009. The author of the last piece of writing, “Tackling Unconscious Bias in Hiring Practices: The Plight of the Rooney Rule,” is Brian Collins. This piece of writing was published in New York University Law Review in June 2007. “Minorities Coaches Do Not Face Discrimination in Hiring” simply explains what its title says; that minorities coaches do not face discrimination in the hiring process for coaching job. Meanwhile, the two peer-review articles, “Decision Making in Hiring: Intercollegiate Athletics Coaches and Staff” and “Tackling Unconscious Bias in Hiring Practices: The Plight of the Rooney Rule”, explains in greater details that the...

That was just another success for Washington to lead a tragic war for seven years and to have such a victory. George is extremely famous and was very successful which, argues with my opinion. Peyton Manning, who is a very successful and talented football player, who happens to be a middle child. “Not many quarterbacks throw a football better than Peyton Manning (Reality Central,pg.41).” ¨At first fans said that Eli Manning could not compete with his brother's success. Negotiations

...Professional athletes face the recurring dilemma of negotiating or renegotiating their contracts and according to Alvin Grier, the director of the midwest operations for Elite Sports Agency, “don’t know anything about NFL negotiating strategies”. He strongly recommends that all pro athletes hire an agent or attorney to perform the tedious negotiations citing it is their money and their livelihood on the line. He compiled seven strategies to negotiating a contract that helps athletes maximize their salaries: (1) be careful of the incentive laden contract, (2) know exactly how much of the contract is deferred, (3) only the signing bonus is guaranteed, (4) attempt to get a large signing bonus, (5) front-load your salary, (6) get a roster bonus after the third contract year, and (7) put off guaranteed base-salary until the last years. His strategies seem to be common sense but the average professional athlete entering the professional ranks is only 20 years old and has had little to no college education. The foundation for many successful renegotiated contracts is the athlete’s past performance and the team’s “what have you done for me lately” attitude. A productive player currently on the team’s roster has a better chance of signing a lucrative deal than one who has yet to prove himself. Contradictory to this is the player(s) selected in the annual sporting draft. The players selected highest in the draft are in a better position to negotiate a great deal than those drafted in lower...

...the attorneys representing the Indianapolis Colts which is a key component of being an agent along with advocating and marketing as stated in chapter 1. The Colts drafted Thomas in the 2nd pick of the 2nd round; (5th overall running back.) Thomas urged us to close a deal by Friday before he leaves on a hunting trip, but could possibly wait until the following Tuesday. His grandmother who raised him has just been diagnosed with dementia and is looking to put her in a highly exclusive C’est La Vie Assisted Living Facility to care for her while he is away. With that being said, our leverage has weakened a bit due to the importance of coming to an agreement, and he is willing to take anything above $1,200,000 and a two year deal. Which averages out to $600,000 a year. However, as being Chris Thomas fiduciary we had a duty of good faith, loyalty, accounting, and care for him. With this being said we were determined to get Thomas and his grandmother the best situation we possibly could. Prior to the negotiation we researched a lot of past second round picked running backs. Some of these running backs were Stevan Ridley, Willis Mcgahee, Montee Ball, Eddie Lacy, Giovani Bernard, Isiah Peas, and Leveon Bell. All of these second round picks had similar contracts in the ball park of 4 million which was our starting target. The negotiation process started with the first element of a sports contract as stated in chapter 3 with an offer. Colts representatives Jonathan Blackwell and Andrew...
