Three main elements or disciplines in the application of e-commerce:
1. Business information
2. Business transaction
3. Telecommunication

Business Information * Involves customer’s information, logistic, supplies, request, payment, products and other information which is suitable and accurate to help make a decision. Information is the asset and income of a firm or organization. Information is very important in the world of e-commerce.
Business Transaction * All activities such as promotion, selling, purchasing, bargaining, delivery, customer service and etc is required to make a transaction complete. Some of the transaction in e-commerce is carried out digitally 100% but there is also transaction which uses both digital and physical method. This is because some products only can be described clearly physically.
Telecommunication
* Requires an electronic form of communication such as a telephone line, modem, mobile phone, a telecommunication network etc.Without this, an online transaction cannot be done between the seller and the buyer.

Direct or Indirect Marketing * Direct marketing is a discipline within marketing that involves contacting individual customers' (business-to-business or consumer) directly and obtaining their responses and transactions for the purpose of developing and prolonging mutually profitable customer relationships. Direct marketing is a form of marketing that attempts to send its messages directly to consumers, using "addressable" media such as mail and email. Therefore, direct marketing differs from regular advertising in that it does not place its messages on a third party medium, or in the public market, such as a billboard or a radio commercial would. Instead, the marketing of the service or commodity is addressed directly to the target customer.
Complete or Spatial Cyber Marketing * Complete Cyber marketing refers to marketing which is done fully online starting from the promoting the product to delivering the product to the customer. While spatial cyber marketing refers to doing e-commerce activities both online and through the retail outlet.

Electronic Distributor or Electronic Broker * An electronic distributor is a middleman who is responsible to fulfill the orders and its guarantees. While an electronic broker only introduces the merchant who promotes the goods requested by the customer.
General E-Malls or Specific E-Malls * General e-Mall handles products from a variety of categories while specific e-Mall focuses its sale on a particular category.
E-commerce is classified into: * B2B: Between buyer and seller which both is from an organization or firm. * B2C: A situation where a business firm sells its products directly to an individual via online * C2C: A customer sells a product directly to another customer. * C2B: An individual sells a product directly to an organization.

History

The Internet Explorer project was started in the summer of 1994 by Thomas Reardon,using source code from Spyglass, Inc. Mosaic, an early commercial web browser with formal ties to the pioneering NCSA Mosaic browser. In late 1994, Microsoft licensed Spyglass Mosaic for a quarterly fee plus a percentage of Microsoft's non-Windows revenues for the software. Although bearing a name similar to NCSA Mosaic, Spyglass Mosaic had used the NCSA Mosaic source code sparingly. Microsoft has been sued by Synet Inc. in 1996 over the trademark infringement.

Thomas Reardon

Mr. Reardon was raised in an Irish-Catholic household, one of 18 children. Thomas Reardon is a math and science prodigy attending classes at Massachusetts Institute of Technology before he even graduated high school. After he had graduated high school he moved to North Carolina where he met Bill Gates and began his Microsoft career. In 2003 he was listed in MIT Technology Review; as one of the top innovators under 35. Even though his impact to the world of technology was significant in 2004 he decided to switch directions in go to school at Columbia University of General Studies; where he graduated Magma Cum Laude in 2008. Later achieving his Master's in Neuroscience at Duke University in 2010.
As I previous stated Thomas Reardon is most well known for his work on Internet Explorer. He started working for Microsoft in the summer of 1994 starting off with Windows 95. While working on Windows 95 he begin coming up with ideas that will later become I.E. he was only 24. Thomas Reardon started implementation on I.E. version 1.0 with only a team of six people using the source code from Mosaic. I.E. was originally released in Microsoft Plus!. He continued to be involved with the creation of Internet Explorer into the late 90's including when it peeked as the number one used internet browser with I.E. 5. The ubiquity of I.E. paved the way to how we interact with web. It exists as the default standard to which other browser’s are bench-marked and compared too. Internet Explorer 1 the first version of Internet Explorer (later referred to as Internet Explorer 1) made its debut on 16 August 1995. It was a reworked version of Spyglass Mosaic, which Microsoft had licensed, like many other companies initiating browser development, from Spyglass Inc
Internet Explorer 2 was released for Windows 95, Windows NT 3.5, and NT 4.0 on 22 November 1995 (following a 2.0 beta in October). It featured support for SSL, cookies, VRML, RSA, and Internet newsgroups
Internet Explorer 3 was released on 13 August 1996 and went on to be much more popular than its predecessors. Internet Explorer 3 was the first major browser with CSS support, although this support was only partial. It also introduced support for ActiveX controls, Java applets, inline multimedia, and the PICS system for content metadata.
Internet Explorer 4 released in September 1997, deepened the level of integration between the web browser and the underlying operating system. Installing version 4 on a Windows 95 or Windows NT 4 machine and choosing Windows Desktop Update would result in the traditional Windows Explorer being replaced by a version more akin to a web browser interface, as well as the Windows desktop itself being web-enabled via Active Desktop.
Internet Explorer 5 launched on 18 March 1999, and subsequently included with Windows 98 Second Edition and bundled with Office 2000, was another significant release that supported bi-directional text, ruby characters, XML, XSLT, and the ability to save web pages in MHTML format. IE5 was bundled with Outlook Express 5.
Internet Explorer 6 was released on 27 August 2001, a few months before Windows XP. This version included DHTML enhancements, content restricted inline frames, and partial support of CSS level 1, DOM level 1, and SMIL 2.0.
Internet Explorer 7 was released on 18 October 2006. It includes bug fixes, enhancements to its support for web standards, tabbed browsing with tab preview and management, a multiple-engine search box, a web feeds reader, Internationalized Domain Name support (IDN), Extended Validation Certificate support, and an anti-phishing filter.
Internet Explorer 8 was released on 19 March 2009. It had been in development since August 2007 at the latest. On 5 March 2008, the first public beta (Beta 1) was released to the general public.
Internet Explorer 9 as released on 14 March 2011. Development for Internet Explorer 9 began shortly after the release of Internet Explorer 8.Microsoft first announced Internet Explorer 9 at PDC 2009, and spoke mainly about how it takes advantage of hardware acceleration in DirectX to improve the performance of web applications and quality of web typography.
Internet Explorer 10 became generally available on October 26, 2012 alongside with Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. A Release Preview is currently available for Windows 7, although Microsoft has not announced when the final version will be available for both Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

IE Icons and its function

BACK BUTTON – It is used to go back to the previous web page. It is disabled if the user is viewing the first web page
FORWARD BUTTON – it used to go forward to next web page. The user can go to next page if Back Button is clicked. It is disabled if the has not moved back.
HISTORY BUTTON – This button is used to open the history folder. This folder contains all the links to pages that you have previously visited.
MAIL BUTTON – this button is used to read or send e-mail. The user can also open news groups from this menu.
STOP BUTTON – It is used to stop any current operations by Internet Explorer. The page being downloaded will be cancelled.
REFRESH BUTTON – it is used to reload current web page being viewed. It is useful if a page updates frequently. The user can view the changes as soon as they are available.
ADDRESS BAR – address bar displays the exact URL location of the page you are currently viewing. You can also type a WEB address into this bar and then press the “GO” icon to go to that site.
FAVORITES BUTTON – it is used to open Favorites menu. The favorites menu is used to store the addresses of web page that are used frequently. The user can go to any web page in the list by clicking on it. The user does not need to remember the addresses of his favorite website. The user can also add a favorite to the list. The Add button is used to add addresses in the list.
SEARCH BUTTON – it is used to move to the default search page for Internet Explorer.

GOOGLE CHROME * is a web browser developed by Google to access the Web. It is a free alternative to Microsoft's Internet Explorer and can be downloaded for free off the Google Website. One of the most exciting features about Google Chrome is that it features a single address bar that can be used for not only inputting website addresses, but search queries as well.
