When interviewing the small child, I realized it was harder to get a lot of information regarding his favorite childhood memory. The child I interview what name Mikey. He is a seven-year-old male who is in the second grade. When asked what his favorite childhood memory was he replied, I don’t know, so I told him to think about it for a little bit, and then I will come back and ask some questions about it.
When I went back to question about fifteen mins later, he then said, “I would have to say my favorite time ever was when me, my mom, my sister, my brother and my stepdad all went out to Chucky
Cheese.” I then proceeded with asking him, “when he had gone to Chuckey Cheeses?” and he replied, “a long time ago.” I then proceeded to ask him where Chucky cheese is, and he said, “up by the mall.” After his response, I asked what mall he was referring to, and his reply was, “I do not know.” I then asked him
“why it was his favorite memory,” and he said, “because playing all the games and getting tickets was fun.” I then concluded my interview with the question, “how do you play the games and get tickets?” His reply was, “Duh, you have to pay for tokens and earn tickets by playing the games and win prizes from the tickets.” When I was all finished with the questioning, he proceeded on his way back to a game he was playing. As you can see most of the questions asked were the simple question with simple answers.
Sometimes I wished it would have been more in detail but I did not want to pursue him further due to his lack of interest.
When interviewing Jim, a seventy-two-year-old male, I realized that most of the interview consisted of trying to remember every last detail of his favorite childhood memory. When I asked what his
