...The digitization project is being launched with 2,000 high-quality images on March 19, 2012. The project will continue throughout 2012. Over 80,000 records of documents held in original and as copies in the Albert Einstein Archives at the Hebrew University (AEA) and at the Einstein Papers Project at Caltech (EPP) can now be accessed with a user-friendly interface via the internet. The system offers easy navigation, displaying the search results and additional information such as filters, related topics and similar items. Some of the digitized documents are accompanied by annotated transcriptions and translations, as edited by the EPP and published in the Collected Papers of Albert Einstein by Princeton University Press (PUP). These documents are searchable as full text. The Albert Einstein Archives include scientific writings and correspondence, non-scientific writings and correspondence, family letters and travel diaries. Einstein Archives Online presents images of Einstein's handwritten manuscripts; it includes correspondence, typewritten manuscripts, photos, audio material, etc. A word about the sponsors The newly launched digitization project is funded by The Polonsky Foundation UK. ...Cultural Diversity in Australia Paper by John Thompson, Collection Research, Documentation and Promotion, for the National Conservations and Preservation Strategy Public Forum, October 1996. Introduction This paper has been written in response to an invitation from the Conservation Working Party of the Heritage Collections Committee of the Cultural Ministers Council. Its purpose is to consider the implications of cultural diversity in Australia in a program which seeks to implement the National Conservation and Preservation Policy for Movable Cultural Heritage issued by the Heritage Collections Committee of the Cultural Ministers Council in September 1995. That document included ten policy statements intended to provide the framework for a proposed National Conservation Strategy which might pave the way for a concerted effort to improve the conservation status of heritage collections in Australia. In relation to cultural diversity, the statement of policy (Policy Statement 2) was expressed as follows: The Commonwealth, State, Territory and Local Governments acknowledge the diversity of cultures of the Australian people which should be reflected in the definition and identification of movable cultural heritage. Expressed in this way, the policy statement does little more than state the obvious that Australia is a culturally diverse community and that efforts, unspecified, should be made to ensure that justice is done to this demographic and social reality in the programs which...

...students to the three major forms of literature (poetry, prose fiction, and drama) through the art of close reading, which literary scholars broadly define as the practice of scrutinizing a text carefully in order to discern complex patterns of meaning. It is impossible to spend sufficient time on the works we will be exploring within the bounds of class-time, so you will be required to spend time reading and writing on your own; this is a practice that will enable you to bring your personal experiences with these works to our discussions in class and participate in an engaged way as part of our community of learning. But our community of learning is broader than the classroom—it also includes the community organizations you will be partnering with for your service-learning. We will be investigating and interrogating a versatile metaphor—cultivation—and how it impacts the cultures and communities in which we live. “Cultivation” leaves its trace on culture both linguistically in the morphology of the word and symbolically by informing the figures we use to talk about the establishment, maintenance and the dissolution of a culture -- as when a character in Shakespeare’s play Richard II refers to England as a “sea-walled garden” that is corrupt and “full of weeds, her fairest flowers choked up,...

Since natural disasters are already altering the way each Filipino live, every member of the society has the obligation of making a crucial decision whether: to act cooperatively now to address the problem, to prefer to move independently or to decide to be passive and suffer the consequences of apathy together (Aquino III, 2014). ...Feasibility Analysis in Project Management- An Empirical Study By Dr. Cynthia Menezes, Associate Professor and Research Guide And Raghunandan G, Research Scholar, Canara Bank School of Management Studies, Bangalore University Abstract: The system analyst gives a project meaning and direction. It is necessary to know what the problem is before it can be solved. This leads to a preliminary survey or an initial investigation to determine whether an alternative system can solve the problem. Depending on the results of the initial investigation, the survey is expanded to a more detailed feasibility study. A feasibility study is a test of a system proposal according to its workability, impact on the organization, ability to meet user needs, and effective use of resources. It focuses on three major questions such as what are the user’s demonstrable needs and how does a candidate system meet them, what resources are available for given candidate systems, whether the problem is worth solving, what could be the likely impact of the candidate system on the organization and how well it is within the organization’s master MIS plan. Each of these questions must be answered carefully because they revolve around investigation and evaluation of the problem, identification and description of candidate systems, specification or performance and the cost of each system and final selection of the best system. The objective of feasibility study is to acquire...

...Dealing With Stress My senior thesis project is going to be about stress. I want to learn how to educate others (my peers) throughout a web site about stress, what it is, how serious it is and how to deal with it. I will create a Wonder How To account where I am going to update every time I have something or learn something new about stress. I am interested in this project because I know counselors have to deal with this type of problems, and know information about what is stress and how to deal with it. By doing this project I will be a step closer in knowing a start of big problems among teens. My investigation for my senior thesis will be: What affects does stress cause in your body? How could teens alleviate stress? Is stress different between teens and adults? My products are going to be: To create a brain model Two types of surveys, one will be done in school the other one will be done throughout the community Reflections on testing out surveys. The survey that I will be testing among my peers is going to be from school. ...Crowdsourcing In the first half of this paper, I will examine the invention and growth of crowdsourcing in the field of interface design. Second, I will describe the impact that crowdsourcing has had on the field of interface design. Third, I will discuss at least 3 benefits of incorporating crowdsourcing in a design project. Finally, I will discuss at least 3 challenges of incorporating crowdsourcing in a design project. The invention of and growth of crowdsourcing in the field of interface design has grown exponential. Alsever (2007) states that the basic idea of crowdsourcing is to “tap into the collective intelligence of the public at large to complete business-related tasks that a company would normally either perform itself or outsource to a third-party provider”. This means that companies would utilize the benefits of outside sources to help accomplish a certain goal or criteria that the company can capitalize on. Unlike outsourcing, crowdsourcing utilizes the resources that can be found in the United States. Small businesses with tighter budgets utilize crowdsourcing to obtain ideas for their user interface at a fraction of the cost. For example, a start-up company called ‘Health Junky’ wants a logo for their company but they do not want to pay a professional $1,000 for their ideas. Instead, they utilize the crowdsource to obtain a plethora of ideas on their new logo. They pay the winner of the logo design $100 and save 90% by using a crowdsource. Therefore...
