In this modern world, abundance in information through the internet is taking over the role of tradition libraries. However, when it comes to academic research, libraries still holds its importance. Many thousands of web pages exist, comparing the advantages and disadvantages of using the Internet instead of a traditional library. Many of these are personal opinions, with the authors ranging from commercial sites to professional organizations. This essay aims to compare and contrast these two major sources of information for use by students in academic written work from the perspective of sources and reliability of information
A library has a very systematic way in which information is catalogued to enable searchers to locate the desired information. From the individual perspective, more information related to the academic is obtained especially for students as well as it is the key source of information including books, journals, and archival materials such as document collections. From the practical perspective, library contained more precise information and the most reliable source. Libraries are considered appropriate and even necessary sources of information for college-level work and research. It is also best for credible information quickly and for full-text, scholarly articles. Before a book or journal appears in a university library, it has usually gone through a number of checks to make sure the information in it is reliable. The articles and books in the library are written by journalists or experts in a professional field. All material in database is evaluated for accuracy and credibility by subject experts and reviewed and updated regularly.
The internet is undoubtedly a useful resource. We can use the search engines to search the information we want such as Google anywhere.
