A soccer ball made of plastic bags and twine is a memento because on the team named the fugees, Luma Mufleh, the head coach started with nothing, no soccer balls, no uniforms, no cones or goals to run drills. But the team overcame that obstacle of also not having soccer cloths, soccer shoes, soccer balls, and uniforms for the players. Through the book Luma really encouraged the kids to stay positive nor what they have, like having to play with a soccer ball made out of a bundle of plastic bags and twine. No matter the color black or white the team played as a team and and really showed off, and besides they had to use a soccer ball made of plastic bags and twine.

Luma likes many things at the grocery store but goat cheese was easy to use on anything. Right away when Luma got home she made a meal using cheese remembering the meals her grandmother made. Instead of eating a really big meal every night Luma was simple and just had the easy to make meals.

Soccer Uniforms is a memento because Luma showed up ready to coach the fugees when her team showed up in blue jeans, long T-shirts, baggy shorts that looked like pajama pants, and ankle high hiking boats. When the fugees showed up ready to play the other teams they were unordinary from them because Luma is coaching a full refugee team, When each player on the team received a uniform they were pumped. The team is know all matching and know they just have to practice hard and learn how to play like a team. Throughout the book the team really plays like a team and looks like a team with the fancy
