In both the “Courtship” and “Tiger’s Bride,” the author portrays the human desires to eradicate their flaws and faults to establish perfection to be accepted within the society. Both symbolize an individual’s dissatisfaction, and disbelief in oneself hence devise various techniques to achieve perfection but forced to accept individual weaknesses to compliment and complete the society. To be happy, the beauty must accept the beast, and to escape the social construct, the beauty, and the beast must acknowledge their animal nature. Despite the struggle to attain equality and perfection, women have endured multidimensional objectivity and oppression from the male-dominated society.
