In hamlet when the swords get switched and Laertes gets the poison. This affects the story line dramatically because the poison was meant for hamlet. Hamlet eventually does get hit with the poison and so does his uncle because hamlet makes him drink the poison that the uncle tried to give hamlet if he won the duel. In lion king a form of situational irony is in the beginning Simba is excited to be king and sings a song with Nala on how is going to be the greatest king ever, but as the plot unfolds his dad dies caused by his brother scar. Simba finds the new very upsetting he leaves the village and says he will never be king. This affects the plot in many because Simba meets Pumba and Timon the teach him to live in the moment. Comparing Hamlet And Simba In Disney's The Lion King

...character in Disney's The Lion King. he is the son of Mufasa, the king of the lions, which makes Simba a prince. Hamlet, from Shakespeare's The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark is the son of the tragically murdered King Hamlet, which makes him a prince too. Most people know that, in The Lion King, Simba has an evil uncle named Scar. Scar is jealous of his brother, Mufasa, because he wants to be the king instead. Comparing Betrayal In Hamlet And Disney's Lion King

...William Shakespeare's Hamlet and Disney’s Lion King might seem to be two different stories. However, Hamlet and Simba have a lot in common. They both go through the hardships of their father’s death and a new king taking his place. They also have to face betrayal from many people that they are close to. The death of a parent would be enough tragedy for someone, but both Simba and Hamlet go through much more. The first acts of betrayal in Shakespeare's Hamlet was the murdering of Hamlet’s father, the King of Denmark. Hamlet found out about this wrongdoing by the ghost that happens to be the deceased king. The ghost states “Take revenge for his horrible murder, that crime against nature”(Shakespeare 63). The King continues, “Now listen, Hamlet....

The Compare and Contrast of Disney's Lion King and Shakespeare's Hamlet

...William Shakespeare's Hamlet is without question the most famous play in the English language. Hamlet is a play about a character's struggles with the opposing forces of moral integrity and the need to avenge his father's murder. Disney's The Lion King is an award winning film about a young lion cub named Simba, and his struggles against himself and reality. The movie, The Lion King, and the book, Hamlet, both have a similar story line. Shakespeare's Hamlet and Disney's The Lion King have similar occurrences such as, the king is killed and revenge is sought by the king's son, the murderers are the king's brothers who want the power of the throne, and many others; but each story is also unique in their own ways. Throughout Hamlet and The Lion King numerous examples link both of these stories together. The first example of comparing Shakespeare's Hamlet to Disney's The Lion King is in both stories the king is killed and revenge is sought by the king's son. The murderers in the stories are both the king's brothers who want the power of the throne. In Hamlet, Claudius is the murder of King Hamlet and in the movie The Lion King Scar is the murderer of Mufasa. After the death of the kings, both of the villains successfully took over the kingdoms. Another example that compares both of these stories together is that neither of the princes, Hamlet and Simba, liked the villains. In addition, they did not know at first that they had anything to do with their father's death. It took...

...painted on a wall in Pompeii calls the attention of travellers to a tavern situated in another town. As much as some three thousand years ago Papyrus sheets were used in Thebes in Egypt for announcing the reward for return of runaway slaves .The first advertisement was somewhat in the form of stenciled inscriptions. which were found on earthen bricks prepared by the Babylonians 1 Prepared by BeeHive Digital Concepts Cochin for Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam about three thousand years before Christ. The bricks carry the name of the temple in which they were used and the name of the king who built it, just as a modern public building which contains a corner stone or stone tablet with the names of officials in office when the structure was erected. The method was to cut a stencil in hand stone and with it each brick was stamped while the clay had been in its son stage. Interpretation of Dreams

...The Interpretation of Dreams Sigmund Freud (1900) PREFACE TO THE THIRD EDITION Wheras there was a space of nine years between the first and second editions of this book, the need of a third edition was apparent when little more than a year had elapsed. I ought to be gratified by this change; but if I was unwilling previously to attribute the neglect of my work to its small value, I cannot take the interest which is now making its appearance as proof of its quality. The advance of scientific knowledge has not left The Interpretation of Dreams untouched. When I wrote this book in 1899 there was as yet no "sexual theory," and the analysis of the more complicated forms of the psychoneuroses was still in its infancy. The interpretation of dreams was intended as an expedient to facilitate the psychological analysis of the neuroses; but since then a profounder understanding of the neuroses has contributed towards the comprehension of the dream. The doctrine of dream-interpretation itself has evolved in a direction which was insufficiently emphasized in the first edition of this book. From my own experience, and the works of Stekel and other writers, [1] I have since learned to appreciate more accurately the significance of symbolism in dreams (or rather, in unconscious thought). In the course of years, a mass of data has accumulated which demands consideration. I have endeavored to deal with these innovations by interpolations in the text and footnotes. If these additions do...
