For thousands of years mankind has been killing each other for what, to gain more land, to gain superiority over another, or to show how strong we are. Billy Pilgrim is suffer from a physiological disorder called post traumatic stress disorder because of what happened in the war he periodically goes back to that time in his head and relives those moments like he is actually there. There are a lot of evidence throughout the novel that Billy is suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. We know Billy gets nightmares because when he falls asleep in the boxcar in Germany that's taking him to a POW camp, the other prisoners don't want to sleep next to him due to his whimpering and kicking and he startles easily. These are all signs of post traumatic stress disorder. When Billy escapes reality by going to Transformador he is trying to make a better life for himself he gets to have a women up there has a peaceful living area where nobody is going to hurt him and gets to know about a our Universe. Billy asked a lot of questions to the Transformador like “How does the Universe end? We blow it up, experimenting with a new fuel for our flying saucer. (pg 117)”. Although both novels showed two different sides of the prisoner camps one of them being a lot worse than the other they both shared a common message that war is bad and there is never any true gain that can come out of war just more war. As a human race we need to stop having so much more war and have peaceful times we could do so much more without conflict we could devote more time into research or into school and teach our kids that knowledge is power not how many nukes you have. The world that we live in should change the way we look at everyone we should treat everyone not just how they look or how much money they have, we should treat on how they should be
