BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE RESEARCH Paltok Credit Cooperative, Inc. is a Financial, Accounting, Insurance, and Property Development company. The proponents are conducting the study in order to help the company determine its problems, and provide appropriate solutions in order to improve their quality of service. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY The proponents of the study have identified that the company has a problem with their customers’ satisfaction, and may still improve on the services that they offer in order to adapt to the changing market demands. There is a negative effect on their competitive advantage against other financial institutions because other financial organizations offer more and better services. The proponents suggest that there is a need for Paltok Credit Cooperative, Inc. to provide additional services that other credit unions do not offer in order to improve customer satisfaction. By doing this, the company opens more financial opportunities to their members. The area for future research in this case is a study on the necessary technological innovations that the company should explore in order to compete against other commercial banks. It is important to conduct a research on the banking and financial industry in order to provide Paltok Credit Cooperative with a proposed specific action plan to address its problem. The members of a credit union are also considered as its part owners. The members will benefit from this study because the company will have the opportunity to expand and gain more members. RESEARCH PROBLEM/OBJECTIVE The proponents aim to determine how Paltok

Uk Regulation Within the Newspaper Industry

...1.0 Introduction There is never a definite answer to the question of whether the current system and method of self-regulation in the UK press allows news outlets to intrude on people’s private and personal lives. This paper will help us look at the present system of press regulation in the United Kingdom. In current UK law there is no legislation that forbids publications from printing articles that can be considered as intrusive and invasion of an individual’s privacy. This however does not mean that there is no regulation governing publications. There is a strict code of practice that all the media outlets both print and broadcast have come to an agreement to adhere to. This code was set up by the Press Compliant Commission in order to regulate the industry. This commission is an independent entity that was set up in the early 1990s following the recommendations of a commission on press regulation that was chaired by Sir. David Calcutt. The commission’s core responsibility is to ensure that the press adheres to the agreed code of practice on sensitive topics such minors and privacy (Fourie 2002: 46). In case of any breach of the code of conduct, the commission will conduct an investigation and either uphold the complaint or dismiss it in its entirety. With the exception of incidents regarding inaccuracies (these are dealt with by the editor responsible) all other cases have to be adjudicated and published by the commission. This commission came to being ultimately because...

Technical Report on Achieving Water Neutrality in the Severn Trent Region

...region Abstract The concept of water neutrality is a rather new but significant concept for water demand management. It is an ambitious concept which targets to make sure that there is enough water to support any development without requiring additional water resources. There are two main reasons because of which the water neutrality becomes an important concept which include the policy of government which aims at a quicker growth in housing keeping a target of over 3 million new houses by 2020. The plan to achieve this growth depends upon existing water management plans and the growth point and eco-towns. The other key factor is the availability of water resources either today or in future which can be used to meet the demand for water in the areas of England and Wales. Most of East midlands area is served by Severn Trent water which is targeting to put a check on the carbon footprint by bringing in water neutrality and improving energy efficiency. Introduction The concept of water neutrality is a vital concept for the purpose of water resource management keeping new development in mind. It can be defined as offset of water demand in the existing community by the means of making the buildings and houses increasingly water efficient. In other words, total water demand should remain same with the new housing development in the region. Most of the studies performed on the subject of water neutrality have been based on this definition of the concept. Most importantly the study...

Outline the Ways in Which the Media in Britain Are Regulated

...Outline the ways in which the media in Britain are regulated. Is there enough regulation? The history of mass communication is rather short in the broad context of the world’s progress. Despite the fact that in all times people felt the urge to share their significant experiences in more durable than verbal form – like the prehistoric paintings on cave walls and invention of writing by Sumerians later – relatively modern forms of communication, reaching large audiences, originated only in the past five hundred years. The importance of sharing information and even more – deciding what to share and what to withhold – was understood from the moment people learned to write. As Tom Clancy put it: ‘Information, knowledge, is power. If you can control information, you can control people’ and that is why since the beginning of times that precious knowledge was divided only between the chosen few: from high priests of the ancient civilizations to the nobility and servants of God in the middle ages; from the dictators like Stalin and Hitler to modern moguls like Rupert Murdoch. In our times mass media became a super-power: it has a colossal impact on society as a whole and its political, economic, cultural constituents, therefore it must be governed and regulated aiming to ensure a freedom to communicate, diversity and universal provision as well as secure communicative and cultural ends chosen by the people for themselves (McQuail, 2010). The obligatory argument that always emerges...

The Face of Higher Education: Corporate Social Responsibility, Stakeholders and the Managerial Role

...Process Management and Organizational Theory Reaction Paper 3 October 12, 2011 Professor Arevalo The Face of Higher Education: Corporate Social Responsibility, Stakeholders and the Managerial Role Abstract The purpose of this paper is to examine three themes that have been discussed in our Management Process and Organizational Theory course: Corporate Social Responsibility, the Stakeholders, and Managerial Roles. Corporate Social Responsibility emphasizes the commitment an organization makes to achieve greatness following the law and making a profit. The discussion of managers and their roles considers how certain kinds of manager’s function as it relates to making a decision. A stakeholder’s involvement in an organization is crucial to that organization and how the organization influences society or their surrounding community. All three of these themes are being analyzed from the aspect of higher education. Many discussions have been held in which the components of organizational theory, management, and organizations have been examined. This paper intends to take the three themes and analyze how they are applied to or affected by higher education, since higher education (undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate levels) as an organization helps prepare individuals for the workplace to potentially become a manager or even stakeholder and practice Corporate Social Responsibility. Corporate Social Responsibility The concept of Corporate Social Responsibility is a relatively...

Bidding

...technology, Internet is one of the most favorite platforms for providing bidding facilities, it is the most natural way of determining the price of a commodity in a free market economy. Biddings are arranged by first disclosing the time and space location of the place where the bid is to be performed, so that more interested bidders may participate and the most "true" price of the commodity may come out, in terms of bidding on Internet the time frame for posting the bids may be a topic of interest. For some auction houses, bidding is meant to be fun and enjoyable, but remember that each bid you place enters you into a binding contract. All bids are active until the auction ends. Many similar terms that may use or may not use the similar concept have been evolved in the recent past in connection to bidding, such as reverse auction, social bidding, or many other game class ideas that promote them self as bidding. Bidding is also sometimes used as ethical gambling in which the prize money is not determined solely by luck but also by the total demand that the prize has attracted towards itself. HOW TO MAKE A BID Having the skills to do a job doesn't always mean you have the knowledge to be able to effectively bid it. There are several variables that need consideration when...

... | Psychology as a scientific discipline can be divided into four major historical forces. The first historical force being psychoanalysis, the second force behaviorism, the third force humanistic, and the fourth force multicultural. Each historical force represents the zeitgeist or prevailing school of thought for its historical time, and each school of thought brought about the development of different theoretical applications and ideological approaches. This paper will focus on theorists and theoretical applications of the second and third historical forces. Behaviorism is the school of thought founded by John B. Watson and is the second historical force in psychology. The basis of behavioral psychology suggests that all behaviors are learned and therefore can be unlearned and changed. Watson, like most other behaviorists were of the mindset that only observable, or overt behaviors, should be studied because concepts such as emotion and cognition were too subjective (Cherry, K. 2011). Cognitive applications of behavioral psychology known as Cognitive Behavioral psychology or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) differs from the orientation of Behaviorism in that it focuses on the mental processes, perceptions, and interpretations of the mind, as well as how information...

...highly unstable, being more unstable in the last 20 years (since the removal of the ICO agreement). During 1980 and 1990 the coffee price was varying around 8% around a mean and over the last 20 years it has been oscillating around 15% to 20% around a mean. The coffee market presents an 8 to 11 years cycle in price and production. Coffee market is well known for its volatility and for the crisis that producers are confronting, i.e., poverty, low prices, etc. The main causes for this crisis are the characteristic behaviors of the coffee market itself, which presents price instability, resource unsustainabillity, and inequity along the commodity chain (specially for coffee growers), the same characteristics of other commodity markets. In this paper we focused on the first of the causes, price instability, and so we created a System Dynamics model of the Colombian coffee sector that captures the structure of that market, the delays and feedbacks present on it. With this research we intended to answer the following questions: Why is the Colombian coffee market so unstable in price and quantity? And what can be done to reduce the instability of that market? The model is an adaptation of the generic structure, created by Meadows 1970 for commodity markets. We demonstrate that cycles in Colombia coffee sector can be endogenously generated and propose some policies that might contribute to dampen those oscillations. Person Centered Counselling

...Module 1 Notes In this essay I will define what Person Centred Therapy (PCT) is and I will look at the origins of this therapy with particular reference to Abraham Maslow and Carl Rogers and examine the fundamental elements necessary for the therapy to be seen as patient centred. I will compare the benefits and disadvantages of Person-Centred Therapy and try to establish whether a therapist can treat all clients effectively using just the one approach or whether it is more beneficial to the client for the therapist to use a more multi-disciplinary approach. To be able to discuss this subject, it is important to describe first what we mean when discussing PCT. Person-Centred Therapy, also known as client-centred, non-directive, or Rogerian therapy, is an approach to counselling and psychotherapy that places much of the responsibility for the treatment process on the client, with the therapist taking a non-directive role. PCT emphasises person to person relationship between the therapist and client and focuses on the clientâs point of view; through active listening the therapist tries This essay is intended to explore the statement that Person-centered therapy offers therapists all they need to treat clients. In order to do this I intend to further explore the opinions of other individuals practicing and researching counseling therapies. My first thoughts are that if the Person centered approach was sufficient, there might not have been such a great variety of...
