For this assignment, I will be discussing the importance of a vision, mission, and values in determining a strategic direction as it relates to Metrotek. I will further analyze how the vision, mission, and values guide Metrotek strategic direction. Finally, I will evaluate how the company addresses customer needs and critique how it achieves competitive advantage.
The mission of Metrotek is to provide staffing solutions to companies as well as job seekers to promote economic growth and stability. To accomplish our mission, we offer flexible staffing options. We offer contract, contact-to-hire, and direct placement options. The staffing areas we service include clerical, light industrial, and professional along with human consultations. Metrotek focuses on you and your business. We recruit and place based on our custom match philosophy. Simply put, what the customer wants the customer gets.
Metrotek staffing services are designed to fit business needs. Our process focuses on you and your business because our customers are our top priority. From contract, contract-to-hire, and direct placement, we offer placement options that will deliver the right solution. Metrotek vision is to become the first choice for staffing services in North Texas.
As a company, Metrotek is committed to its values on which it acts. It always will conduct business fairly and with integrity. It will conform to professional standards of conduct. It will develop trustworthy relationships through its successful staffing programs it will implement. Metrotek will make a worthwhile contribution to society by providing employment and services. As a company we particularly can make an important contribution to the common good when it functions properly. Therefore, it will make every effort to participate in community service. Metrotek will meet the needs of its customers by first knowing who they are and what their ideal candidate should possess. After which, our recruiters will screen and identify the right person for the job.
The company is purposeful and has a clear sense of purpose. It regularly will evaluate results and activities compared to its established goals, objectives, and performance measures (Pearce & Robinson, 2009). Metrotek will be accountable for work, actions, and behavior to attain business results. The company will make rational decisions that reflect its values. Because the company is determined to succeed, it will always pursue opportunities for continuous quality improvement. Also it will set direction for the future as well as the present.
Metrotek will be an environment for meaningful work, where individual and team contributions are recognized, valued, and rewarded. It will always make confident decisions by using Metrotek values as a guide. Every discussion, wrong opinions, and practices gradually yield to argument and fact because allowing people to argue for false position have a value. There should be an introduction of possible solutions by members before evaluation with its aim at encouraging everyone to introduce solution or idea, without the fear of criticism. Encouraging insight and creativity is very necessary. It continuously will learn and develop as individuals, as teams, and a company.
At Metrotek, we will balance concern for the needs of communities, customers, employees, and other stakeholders. We will go beyond the initial steps of recruiting and staffing to prepare contract employees for success. We will respond to external and internal forces affecting the work environment. Metrotek commits to providing secure and safe environment for its staffs. It will always consider safety and security in all its actions and decisions.
Strategies formulated in Metrotek are ethical in all respects. Disregarding business ethics can cause different kinds of unethical strategies maneuvers as well as behaviors in the company. According to Thompson, Gamble, and Strickland (2006), “people who are obsessed with wealth accumulation, greed, power, status, and selfish interests often push ethical principles aside in their quest for self-gain. Driven by their ambitions, they exhibit few qualms in skirting the rules or doing whatever is necessary to achieve their goals” (p. 250). The company’s ethical implication of a decision will be determined by commitment to make clear logical decisions based on fact, legal limitations, a sense of responsibility, and fairness. At Metrotek, we believe decisions based on these standards will weather the storm and outside scrutiny. While not always popular, ethical decisions give a sense of peace of mind to those who made them. Most people will respect that it is based upon these elements because they understand that the decision was not based on personal interest.
Businesses are social entities. They rely on societies to support them; they are selling services to clients, so they have social responsibility and moral obligation to recruit, in our case, the most qualified candidates for the our clients. As a company, we have responsibility that we have accepted and a duty to fulfill that role to our client or customers.
Management of the company believes in fairness. Decisions should be based upon know facts and legal integrity coupled with a sense of responsibility. Putting profits before ethics is wrong and is something that we are against. We will not compromise quality workforce for cheaper labor. Emphasis are placed on those most qualified for a given positions and not on whom lesser money could be paid to. The agency has a social responsibility to be fair to our clients.
“A focus on customer satisfaction causes managers to realize the importance of providing customer service. Strong customer service initiatives have led some firms to gain competitive advantages in the marketplace (Pearce & Robinson, 2009, p. 35). Metrotek will deliver on commitments when promised by putting a timeline in place to ensure our staffing services are delivered in the time frame the customer expects and with the level of quality the customer deserves. We will profile the company of the client to understand the business needs and determine the services that will make the staffing process more effective. Our recruiters and placement teams will assign the most qualified and competent candidates using the extensive network of our agency. We complete the selection process by screening and making sure certifications are verified before the employee starts. We continually will monitor our performance and performance of our employees to ensure our clients are continually satisfied with our service.
In conclusion, at Metrotek we are committed to values on which we act. We always will conduct business fairly and with integrity. We will conform to professional standards of conduct. We will develop trustworthy relationships through our successful staffing programs we will implement. Metrotek will make a worthwhile contribution to society by providing employment and services. Our decisions will be based upon facts and legal integrity, coupled with a sense of responsibility for the action.
