...IT Consultation for MR. Green Mr. Green wants to upgrade Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate. I have researched this upgrade and will be describing concerns and options so Mr. Green’s business will be more efficient and capable of expanding in time. From the information you gave me Mr. Green, it appears that your stand-alone machines are capable of running Windows 7 Ultimate. It requires 1GHz processor, 2GB RAM (for 64 bit) and 20GB available disk space. My concern for the future would be to look into getting more RAM as you install different programs and have many applications running at the same time. Attached are graphs that will take you step by step in preparing to upgrade as well as the steps for using Windows Anytime Upgrade. Running the upgrade advisor will ensure that your systems are capable and compatible of running Windows 7 Ultimate. It will check your hardware, search for updates, check your applications, disk space, ensures computer functionality, also performs a full system backup and allows you to purchase Windows 7. The next graph walks you through Windows Anytime Upgrade which I believe will work for you since your systems already have windows 7 on them. The graph has you click start, control panel, system and security tab, and Windows Anytime Upgrade. When you get to that window, just click on go online to choose the windows 7 edition you would like and then click the buy button. It will then walk you through the install process. You may have...

...History of Amateur Boxing Italian Amphora circa 500BC Ancient History The history of boxing starts from the history of Ancient Greece with perhaps the first mention being in Homer’s “Iliad”, written around 1100BC, describing a prize-fight between Epeus and Euryalus. There are, however, ancient Egyptian artefacts dating back to 3000BC that appear to depict boxing events and suggestions that “Boxing” occurred in Ethiopia as early as 6000BC. The earliest “pictures” of boxing appeared much closer to the times of Homer in the form of a fresco from Santorini Island dated around 1600BC that depicts two young boxers. Mosaic from Roman Ruins in Tunis In the Ancient Greek history, king Theseus is credited with introducing boxing as a form of entertainment before the fifth century BC. There were few rules, but traditional “Codes of Honour” were observed and, for boxing, there was an understanding that the contest involved punching and therefore wrestling and grappling was not allowed. At that time there were no “rings” and the fighting area was defined by the spectators. As a result, the boxers could often back away and, as they came closer to the spectators, they too could back away so that the ring size was continually changing. The result was that there was no ringcraft and an opponent could not be “cornered”. In practice, the “honour” or pride of the boxers’ was such that they would usually not back away and they stood with their feet in one place throwing blows at their opponent...

Racism Consultation

...Racism Consultation: Basics which all Social Workers need when dealing with racism in children Racism is an issue in which many people shy away from when it arises. Most people feel they are not racist, however in later discussion many racist ways of thinking may be divulged. Racism needs to be addressed, not avoided. Children need to learn how detrimental racism can be to themselves and others. The home and school environments are the best places to begin to address the issue of racism. It is the school's responsibility as well as the parent's to see to it that differences are accepted and not devalued. Antiracist education is also a very helpful approach in reducing racism in schools. This essay will go into detail about how racism is taught to children, characteristics of a racist child or a victim of racism, as well as techniques to prevent or reduce racism in children. Ms. Carlson, the middle school counselor, was approached with an issue that involves two of her students. It appears that Billy has been making racial comments to Tommy, an African American boy. Ms. Carlson is aware of different schools participating in antiracist and multicultural education, however their school does not incorporate this type of teaching. The school is located in a conservative town and Ms. Carlson feels that this type of education will not be welcomed in the school district. She has asked me to speak with Billy and Tommy to see what factors play into a child who has...

Network Design Consultation

...Network Design Consultation Matthew P Bartman Strayer University Daniel Doe CIS 175– Intro to Networking Sept 1st ,2013 Network Design Consultation After speaking with my neighbor and getting an understanding of what his exact needs are as well as his budget I would recommend using an all wireless design. One reason that I would recommend this kind of design is because of mobility. Mobility is what allows information to be accessed from anywhere which will enhance productivity and service. Another reason that I would recommend this kind of design is because Installation is very simple and you don’t have to go through the trouble of running cable everywhere. Another this type of design is good is because that the cost of maintenance is reduced significantly especially in terms of if and when you decide to expand your network as well. Scalability is also another very important factor because Wireless LAN systems can be configured in a variety of topologies to meet the needs of specific applications and installations. Configurations are easily changed and range from peer-to-peer networks suitable for a small number of users to full infrastructure networks of thousands of users that enable roaming over a broad area. Now in terms of the network architecture I would recommend using a Client server Architecture the reason being this type of architecture will allow clients to share data as well as storage space. Not only that but this type of architecture allows for the...

Consultation: Workshops and Seminars

...Workshops and seminars are effective tools a consultant can utilize resources in assisting others to solve a common problem within a professional community (Brown, Pryzwansky, &  Schulte, 2011). They are also methods to promote the business and sale your services. In so doing, engage these professionals in a variety of formats. For example, the consultant may use the traditional face-to-face consultation meetings. For example, other methods may integrate the use of technology, such as web based workshops or through telephone interviews. As a result, expand their business using a cost effective approach. Therefore, create working environments in innovative, creative, and productive manner. Thereby build relationships between the consultant and the local community, nationally and possibly internationally.  Berson (2002) gave an example of holding workshops. The author divided the group into five groups to develop teams. As a result, develop dependency on each team member. Results of the effectiveness increased as the teams determined that together they “were more than the sum of the parts (Berson, 2002, p. 205)”. This is similar to the AHAA workshops I have attended this past year. The current consultant is from a Texas university. It is a grant providing training over a two year period. I came to this school this year so this is my school’s second year. AHAA is a professional development training that includes two years of participating in workshops developed...

Network Consultation for Designit

...Network Consultation for DesignIT 4/12/12 Now for the firewall, using the basic windows firewall is probably alright given that it protects all the individual computers that run the OS. The only minor problem that might arise is protecting the servers. This can be solved by regularly backing up the servers, testing data integrity, and running anti-virus programs. The costs of this setup will differ based on what kind of projects the business takes on. If this is an IT firm that also develops government contracts then the hardware needed might be a little higher than normal. The network speed also varies depending on where the business is based. If the business is in a big city that is dominated by only a single ISP, then the network connection price may be very high for the needed amount of bandwidth needed. If the business is located in certain cities with Google Fiber then getting 100+Mbps may be relatively cheap. Assuming that this business has Google Fiber the cost to provide it for a small business is $100/month. This allows the company to have up to 1Gbps upload and download speed, firewall protection, gigabit routing, and online network management via MyFiber. It also has dedicated support and guaranteed price for 1 year. If more static IP addresses are needed it can be added on for $20/month or 5 static IP addresses for $30/month depending on if it’s needed for testing or development (Google Fiber)....

It Consultation for Mr. Green

...Title: Figurative Language versus Literal Language Student: Jessica Figuereo Instructor: Dr. Chad Redwing Class: PHI 210 Date: 7/15/2013 We use all different types of languages to communicate effectively. Some use sign language, some speak, some write. There is a difference between literal language which means, "in accordance with, involving, or being the primary or strict meaning of the word or words" (Dictionary.com, 2013), and figurative language which means, "speech or writing that departs from literal meaning in order to achieve a special effect or meaning, speech or writing employing figures of speech" (Dictionary.com 21st Century Lexicon, 2013). In this paper we will discuss the different types of figurative languages, their meanings, their function and examples of each. An idiom "is a group of words whose meaning is different from the ordinary meaning of the words, an example would be Put a lid on it" (Oraclethinkquest, unk). This translation does not mean to literally put a lid on Tupperware, or on a bottle again it is a figurative language which means you want someone to be quiet. Maybe you are in church and the person next won’t stop trying to have a sidebar conversation with you while a sermon is being given. You can always say shhh, or can say something with more emphasis such as put a lid on it so that person gets the idea. However, you must know your audience when speaking to children using an idiom you might have to explain the meaning to them....
