The Problem and Its Setting This chapter presents the background of the study, statement of the problem, scope and limitation of the study, significance of the study, and definition of terms used in this study.
Introduction

Living in the era of technology, people nowadays are looking for more machines or equipments to better accomplish their tasks, thus, the onset of the Automatic Tubig Machine (ATM). People became reliant to this machine for their source of drinking water and are preferred by consumers instead of water delivery services especially for people who find the task of calling the water stations for delivery a tedious job.
This study aims to find out why the Automatic Tubig Machine is preferred by most consumers compared to water delivery services. This will answer how convenient this machine is for the people in Koronadal City who have experienced obtaining their drinking water from the automatic tubig machine. The result of this study will not only benefit the citizens of the city but also the businessmen who are engaged in the same business or the businessmen who plan on entering the same business.
Furthermore, the purpose of this study is to really know why this machine became famous to the people in Koronadal, given the fact that people are used to have their water delivered. This would also answer the questions to why they did and why they did not get their water to the ATM.

Statement of the Problem This study aimed to determine the preferred water by consumer in the city of Koronadal, especially in Tuburan, Brgy. Sta. Cruz. Specifically, it sought to address the following concerns:
1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of educational attainment, occupation, and residential location?
2. What are the factors affecting consumers’ decision in buying or not buying at the ATM?
