Proper utilization of the privacy of medical information within the EHR without appropriate documentation to release this medical information will be punishable by loss of employment within this organization. This health care organization is known for the use of the EHR in documenting patient information on a daily basis. This information is protected by law, and will therefore be protected within this facility. The protection of the privacy of medical information within the Happy Acres Convalescent Center is a concern that has been brought to the attention of the administrators of this facility. The reasons behind the treatment received by the patients within this facility are a part of the information that is protected. For example, a patient that is recovering from surgery on their hip has decided to continue their recovery in this facility in order to receive their daily physical therapy without added travel. This facility will honor that choice, while ensuring that the patient can continue their recovery with their health care providers and the family and friends that they choose to be included. The New Rule will be known as The Continuation of Private Rehabilitation and Care.
The Happy Acres Convalescent Center will hereby send notice on this 28th day of August in the year of 2013 through the proper channels to implement this rule for future use. This rule, in time, will apply to all health care facilities in which a patient wishes to receive continuous care for the recovery of illnesses or accidents. On the date of September 15, 2013 this new rule will be sent to the Office of Management and Budget for review. Upon the finished review, the new rule will be published in the Federal Register for public viewing. The public will be allowed to send comments for approximately 60 to 90 days voicing any concerns that might arise with the implementation of this new rule. Upon the end of this comments period, the new rule will be reexamined along with the comments. During this time, the new rule will be rewritten with any adjustments that might be needed. Upon the completion of this final rule, the Office of Management and Budget will again be asked to review the changes that have been made to this rule. When this is done the rule will then be published in the Federal Register (TresPeche, 2009). Upon completion of the review by the Office of Management and Budget, the public comments can be sent to
