Way to go Florida! Ground breaking! Maybe the rest of the country will follow suit! There are young, dependant children who are not to blame in these families and they would need interventions from DSS or CPS. I'd rather see my dollars spent there. Sadly, leaving these children in drug using, poverty level homes tends to put them into the system later. Not all but many are generational users of the system. This could hopefully slow that down.
I also would like to see the systems STOP rewarding people already in the system for having even more children. Family size increases so do the benefits and we all have heard the horror stories of those having children just to reap this reward. Cap the benefits.
There are so many currently in need, especially in our economy. It's sad that they are punished by the public because of bias due to abuses. We need to find practical ways to stop the abuse.
Pick our battles , you have to be drug tested by most employers to work , you should be tested for assistance.
If you can't work yet you can afford to get your hair done and take care of your boyfriend then you can afford to pay your bills and buy your food! The working man has been taken advantage long enough in this country! How about instead of giving our tax money to lazy people that wont work, use some of that money to bring our economy back up!
The people that abuse the system and refuse to work are the ones that need to be ashamed of themselves. The tax payers have to pay in yet when you basically have any income you can't qualify for the same assitance that the lazy people or people that aren't even here legally and definitely DO NOT pay any taxes can get.
It's really sad that people that deserve assistance from our Governemnt can't get it. But the people that WON"T work get all they want. They get their rent paid, food bought, money to spend, free health care, etc. Our eldery and disabled veterans are pushed to the side. Why is this?

Creative Thouts

...Week 1 Assignment Describe a situation in which critical and creative thought could have been used for a better outcome. Describe why it is important to think critically and creatively in similar situations. * * During work assignments for adjusters that work large locations with my company the assignment crew just assigns claims to people they know are going to that state. This makes no sense at all. If the assignment crew would use critical thinking they would see that there are adjusters getting claims in the same areas which are making the adjusters cross paths going from house to house. If they would assign working areas this would cut out all of the crossing paths and would cut down on drive time for the adjuster. This will also allow the adjusters more time for production. Example: Adjuster A is working out of Mobile, Alabama and Adjuster B is working out of Pensacola, Fl. This distance is approximately 60miles one way. Claims are coming in from Pensacola to Gulfport, Ms. It would be smart to split the working areas up and give Adjuster B Pensacola, Florida to an area close to Mobile, Alabama then adjuster A from Mobile to Gulfport, Ms. This would allow adjuster to keep an area and centralize there working location from there and produce less drive time and higher production. * * * Define free will, truth, knowledge, and opinion. Explain how we use them to form thoughts. * * * Free will is defined as the will to do what you please...

Senior Reflective Essay

...junior year, I haven't written any narrative pieces, in any classes. The focus throughout my high school curriculum has been toward argumentative, analysis, and informative writings. Only in my junior year did I write my first creative writings in the form of a short story and a poem. The first creative writing I had to write a "Vomit" Draft. A vomit draft was the very first draft of a paper with little to no guidelines. "Bring two minutes to life" was the only instruction. We had to throw down 500 words without paying any real attention to punctuation or grammar. This kind of freedom associated with such creative writing was an alien concept to me. Getting used to writing without a structure that we had to follow, without a set of guidelines we had to abide by took a while. But, this kind of writing really helped me learn and improve, not just my writings, my organization and my time management skills as well. Knowing that I had to write such a demanding paper (it turned out to be fourteen pages longs), I had to improve my time management skills, which, up till junior year, hadn’t really been a challenge. Forcing myself then, to distribute time wisely has really helped me now, with the terrific pressures and burdens of college applications. This creative writing segment in my junior year helped my prepare, in a way, for these college essays. It gave me the free thinking approach I needed to hammer down my narrative essays this year. I only wish that there was more of such assignments...

Such cases, we can say, were quite complicated to trace, but WorldCom used a simple recipe to cook the book, which will be illustrated below. HOW DID WORLDCOM COOK ITS BOOKS? To understand the fraud occurring at WorldCom, we should basically understand the difference between operating and capital expenditures first, and then we would move on to the details on how the books were adjusted to cause problems. Reflection

...Final Reflection “Has there ever been a time when we have not been awash in a remarkable torrent of symbols and opportunities for reading and writing them?” (William Kist, in the NCTE statement on multimodal literacies) There is an art of reading, an art of thinking, and an art of writing. To read is to fly: it is to soar beyond what it seen on the pages. We write to taste life, in the moment we live and in retrospect of the past. Reading helps develop thought, instead of having to think for yourself. Once you learn to read, you will be forever free. When reading this quote I believe that there is always something interesting being offered in which we can both read and write about. Everyday, there has to be a moment which is better than all the other moments, a moment that makes you smile or laugh, something memorable, something you can look back at and smile because that’s how memorable it was. These are moments in which we can write about to share, because someone out there must be able to connect with this moment and share that smile you had when you experienced it. As well as someone being willing to read it. There are tons of opportunities available for people. Moving on from first semester to second semester I can definitely see how my skills as a writer and a reader has improved. As I read text I can now understand deeper meanings and connect things to other sources or personal connections I’ve made. My work habits and ideas have grown to the point...

Personal Statement - English Literature and Creative Writing

...Personal Statement I am drawn to study English Literature and Creative writing because I am passionate about and committed to reading and writing. I feel that a structured programme of study is imperative for me to achieve my long-term goal of establishing a successful and varied career as a writer. I know that the path I have chosen will often be difficult to walk but I have already taken a step toward its end by starting an Access course. Throughout my short time on the Access course I have gained confidence in my speaking skills. For example, during a recent discussion on gender and relationships in a graded English discussion I raised a point that the teacher had not thought of and was praised for doing so - this taught me that by pushing myself beyond my comfort zone by sharing my ideas and opinions I will be able to achieve my goals. I know that with the skills taught on the Access course I will be able to achieve my goal of studying and completing a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. The Access course has taught me the importance of self-reflection and criticism through keeping a reflective log which documents my progress, obstacles and goals. I have learnt that I am able to be objective when analysing my own work and performance; this skill has helped me to realise that in order to improve my work I have to be critical of myself and be able to accept criticism from others, I feel that this skill will prepare me for the competitive world of writing...

...Analysis of the Impacts of Tate Modern’s Economic Prosperity ABSTRACT Tate Modern is a leading museum in UK. Since its inception in the year 2000, the museum has faced a major regeneration phase. In addition to that, the museum has attracted millions of people within its confines. It has also grown massively affecting the community around it. This analysis aims at looking at what has been the impact of Tate’s prosperity .At this point, it’s worth noting that due to lack of capital resources, most museums undergo little or no progress. However, this is not the case with Tate Modern which has largely grown in size and rebranded its entire community The Stage recently reported (Merrifield, 2012) that local councils in the UK have reduced funding for arts organizations by 40% over the last year. Under ‘related posts’ on the website, there are links to a July article warning of a 90% cut in local authority expenditure on the arts by the year 2020 (Smith, 2012); one reporting a 40% cut since 2008 (Smith, 2011); one reporting the withdrawal of funding by London councils (Woolman, 2011); and one reporting a rather flaccid warning against such cuts, issued by the Arts Council of England in 2010 (Woolman, 2010). Clearly the present economic climate is not favourable for arts and cultural activities in the UK, or elsewhere in the developed world, where the effects of the 2008 global banking crisis continue to be deeply felt. The stories published by The Stage suggest that, at a local...
