This document discusses covers the implementation of a network that considers the various aspects of the company. The aim is to have a network that is comprehensive such that the organization can achieve the expected benefits from such an investment. The project addresses the needs of an organization that has different office locations. This means that different LANs need to be developed. The project discusses the cabling specifications, wide area network design; network protocols; network remote access; network business applications; and network security.
For the cabling specifications, the physical position of the various systems and offices are considered. Because of the need for interconnection among computers in different offices, the cables specified address the need for protection against electromagnetic interference. The design of the local area network addresses the need for interconnectivity among all computers at each of the locations of the organization. The ring topology allows for centralization of various computers, while ensuring fast data transfer throughout the network. The design of the wide area network, on the other hand, allows for secure interconnectivity among the organization’s different locations and also allows for access to the internet. The network protocols considered for the network are: (a) TCP/IP; (b) POP and SMTP; (c) HTTP; and (d) FTP. Bluetooth is considered for local connectivity of some devices.
For remote access, VPN is considered as the most appropriate for the organization. This allows high speed remote connections to the company’s network. The network is also designed to accommodate business applications that make use of the network. Such applications are especially designed to provide improved data processing capabilities for the company.
The information contained in the network should be made secure through the use of

What do you think is the risk of waiting until bids have been received to establish the evaluation criteria to be used to select a preferred contractor? Besides evaluating the risk of waiting until bids are submitted, also consider the question from the potential vendors’ point of view. Should vendors be aware of the evaluation criteria during the procurement phase, or after they have submitted their proposals/bids? Finding buyers that fail to identify the RFP evaluation criteria during the project procurement planning process would hurt schedule and scope. Besides, if you get the proposals and read them before you create evaluation criteria, you run the risk of consciously or subconsciously creating evaluation criteria based on what you’ve read which could create a bias towards one of the proposals. The introduction sets the stage for the RFP and summarizes its main points. Each RFP introduction is different and contains information that is specific to that RFP. Many RFPs contain general information that is common, including the following: • Statement of purpose: The statement of purpose summarizes the intent and purpose of the RFP and briefly conveys its reasons for its existence. While it does not contain many performance requirements, this section provides a very general overview of the RFP. The statement of purpose is deliberately high-level and provides few details. • Scope: Readers should gain a general sense of the performance requirements of the RFP from this section. The scope defines the specific products, services, period, terms, and conditions of the RFP. In many RFPs, the scope section simply refers readers to appropriate appendices for more detailed coverage. • Compliance stipulations : The introduction often contains any general compliance stipulations that apply to the RFP process, including vendor selection and performance of the proposal contents. ...Request for Proposal Template A carefully crafted "Request for Proposal" (RFP) is the key to getting the best quality services you require for your project. This tool provides you with guidance and a template for preparing a good RFP. Instructions: 1. The Request for Proposal (RFP) is your "official" statement to vendors about the services you require. Vendors typically try to respond, point by point, to your RFP when they make their proposals. Therefore, the RFP "leads" vendors by focusing their attention on certain issues. In addition, it shapes their first impressions of your training development group and the project to be completed. Most importantly, the RFP is the foundation upon which the vendor's relationship with you is built. 2. For these reasons, the RFP must be carefully crafted and reviewed before distributing it to vendors. 3. This template below provides some suggestions for the contents of an RFP. REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL TEMPLATE A TYPICAL RFP The typical RFP includes the following sections: I. The General Training Goals This section includes the general business goals which are met by the new product or process on which the training will be based. In addition, it describes the key components of the new product or process (how it works) and compares these to existing products or processes with which vendors may be familiar. II. The Target Audiences This includes brief summaries of the jobs of the people who are to be...
