2- In the final part of this case study, Roger Williams was making plans to create a business continuity plan for its information. Why do you think the hospital had not already developed such a plan in the event of a disaster? How is HP’s new IT infrastructure going to help Roger Williams build a robust business continuity plan?
The hospital had not already developed a continuity plan for its information in the event of a disaster because Roger Williams Medical Center did not know that it would gain the large amount of information it did.
HP’s new IT infrastructure will help Roger Williams build a robust business continuity plan because the new IT infrastructure will help the hospital achieve scalability, availability, and the performance required to process and store information with its new applications. By achieving scalability, Roger Williams will be able to add information as well as change information within a system easily. By achieving availability, the hospital will be able to have the information available when needed. By achieving the performance required to process and store information with its new applications, the hospital will be able to have enough processing power to work with the new applications and store large quantities of data.

3- According to the network infrastructures we discussed in this chapter, how would you characterize Roger Williams’ new IT infrastructure? Justify your answer.
I would say there new IT infrastructure is more of an n-tier infrastructure. With them already having 41 servers that connect to a storage area network with 4 terabytes of capacity, BladeServer systems, and then adding 11 more servers to expand the user-facing applications this could be viewed as the N-tier infrastructure. They are able to expand on it which would allow for greater

...Abstract In this paper, I will explain what CrossFit Training is and what the benefits are compared to a typical exercise program of isolated muscular training combined with a cardio workout. I will also examine the impacts that CrossFit Training has had on college athletes and athletic teams as a whole at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford (UPB). I will look into what teams have the most athletes with experience with CrossFit training, how many UPB athletes have used it on their own time or during the offseason, and the general feeling towards CrossFit Training and its effectiveness in improving fitness. Introduction In the physical fitness realm, there are many different kinds of exercise programs. There are programs that focus on dancing, ones that focus on stretching, and ones that focus on core strength and conditioning. CrossFit Training is an example of a core strength and conditioning program. It was developed to enhance an individual’s overall ability to complete physical tasks by incorporating many different forms of exercise, from gymnastics to weightlifting (Glassman, 2002). CrossFit Training is different from the popularly accepted idea of a workout because it’s not just situps, curls, leg press, and a half an hour of cardio. CrossFit is all about combining movements and shorter, high intensity cardiovascular sessions (Glassman, 2002). For every long distance effort, a CrossFit athlete will do five or six at a short distance. This is implemented because...

...The CrossFit Level 1 Training Guide is a collection of CrossFit Journal articles written since 2002 primarily by CrossFit CEO and founder Coach Greg Glassman (“Coach Glassman”) on the foundational movements and methodology of CrossFit. The Level 1 Certificate Course is CrossFit’s cornerstone seminar, which has allowed thousands to begin their careers as CrossFit Trainers.   This Guide is designed to be used in conjunction with the Level 1 Course to develop the participant’s knowledge and trainer skills, as well as prepare him or her for the Level 1 test. This is an essential but not an exhaustive resource. Some of the knowledge required to pass the test comes from these articles; the other material comes directly from the two-day course. Some edits to the original articles have been made for the Training Guide to flow as a stand-alone reference, provide context for readers, as well stay current with the course format. All original works are preserved in the CrossFit Journal and hotlinks (noted by their blue color) are provided throughout. Copyright © CrossFit, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
