In order to communicate successfully, we have to consider cultural differences. The economy in the age of Internet, e-mail and business English is becoming more global and international. The great cities and countries around the world compete for highly skilled workers (Lustig, 2013). While high-context cultures need more background information to make a decision, low-context cultures take less. This is reflected in the speed of decision-making. Cultures that require high information content tend to need more time to make a decision. Lustig (2013) states, that high- context communication is the interactions that take place in a long-term relationship who are often able to interpret gestures and comments.
Due to my culture, I tend to be a low context communicator. In my professional life, I like to make sure people understand the meaning of my conversation. When I trained new employees, I was always specific and precise as the new employees were not familiar with the new workplace and duties. Especially when training qualified employees on the daily book procedures, it was required to be detailed about the order of the operations. I changed my style of communication with employees that already were familiar with the work procedures; therefore, I only left a list of duties that were to be done. Most people I do communicate with I have known for a while and have a close connections to therefore my form of communicating is more informal. I do orientate my direction of communication on personal characters. Information is only exchanged within a certain extend and I use verbal communication to express the full extent of the intended meaning.
In my professional life, I figured that I was a lot more task- oriented rather than relationship oriented. My focus was my work duty and the results of my work. In Germany, I have learned that managers use their power and authority

It stated that I like working with a team of close knit people who are independent and supportive, having great ideas and being the “go to person” is my strong point because I enjoy being in control of my schedule and assignments.
