Introduction:
In this report I’m going to talk about the cost vs. benefits, talking about the promotional mix and stating improvements needed to be done. I’m going to be evaluating the effectiveness of my campaign.

Costs versus Benefits:
The cost for advertising is huge, you have to dish out a few thousands too book you allocated time slot, on top of that you have to pay for how long you want the advert to stay. The price varies for different types of adverts, for example if you want a billboard advert you have to pay for the length of the ad, however for T.V (Which is the highest paying promotion) you have to pay considerably more compared to the billboard. The benefit is huge if you advertising is to the correct target audience, it would have been viewed by millions at home meaning Apple has earn a considerable amount of potential customers.

The cost for Sales promotion isn’t too risky if the product you’ve chosen is backed up by good branding and has a very high demand. It shouldn’t cost too much if the product your promoting isn’t losing you profit. The benefit is you’ll attract more customers with your catchy deal as well as earn a loyal customer.

The cost for (PR) Public Relations is none; PR is free method of promotion which requires no initial cost. It’s used to get together with customers as well as increase your brand identity. The benefit is your PR stunt will be remembered by customers, and shows your business cares.

The cost for direct selling is probably one of the cheapest methods out them all. This is because it requires small amounts of resources and can cover a large scale of areas. The benefit of this method is you can verbal communicate with the customers and they can get an insight of what your business is all about. The problem is it requires a lot of man power to cover those areas.
You have to evaluate your campaign based on

Typhoon

...Summary Themes Characters Analysis More ▻ Typhoon Summary Summary (Comprehensive Guide to Short Stories, Critical Edition) print Print document PDF list Cite link Link The protagonist of Joseph Conrad’s narrative of a typhoon in the China Seas is Captain Tom MacWhirr. Recommended by the builders of the Nan-Shan to Sigg and Sons, who want a competent and dependable master for their vessel, MacWhirr is gruff, empirical, without imagination. Although his reputation as a mariner is impeccable, his manner does not inspire confidence; yet, when he is first shown around the Nan-Shan by the builders, he immediately notes that its locks are poorly made. Young Mr. Jukes, MacWhirr’s first mate, full of himself, curious about others, always rushing off to meet trouble before it comes, is satiric concerning MacWhirr’s limitations, especially his literal-mindedness, his inability to communicate with others in ordinary terms, and his taciturnity. For his part, MacWhirr is amazed at Jukes’s capacity for small talk and his use of metaphorical language, for MacWhirr himself notes only the facts by which he lives. However, he is astute enough to respect in others the ability to perform their tasks ably. Having just enough imagination to carry him through each day, tranquilly certain of his competence—although it has never been fully tested—MacWhirr communicates the essential details of his voyages to his wife and children in monthly letters that they read perfunctorily. These same letters...

...1.2. Individual and G roup Mechanisms of Radicalization (C lar k Mc C auley,     Sophia Moskalenko)1 Authors: Clark McCauley and Sophia Moskalenko Organization: Bryn Mawr College Contact Information: cmccaule@brynmawr.edu; smoskale@gmail.com   We define political radicalization as changes in beliefs, feelings and behavior in the direction of increased support for a political conflict. Radicalization can involve the movement of individuals and groups to legal and nonviolent political action (activism) or to illegal and violent political action (radicalism). An extreme of radicalization is terrorism, in which a nonstate group targets not only government forces but civilian citizens supporting the government. !"#$%&'&()*'+"(,+&-./0+(1/2#,/&'(.#,/-#$/3#'/)"(#&(+/'2+.(4')5-,)6"7().(40)'')8-957(:;#B&((#'"!#'*-*11%$&(>#*N!*'0#%-$"11#!+*#B+"(*#&'14$;*'!#'*!B"$6.8 5. What is the Role of Emotion in Radicalization? The literature on radicalization tends to emphasize cost/benefit calculations, but many have noted the salience of emotions such as anger or outrage, shame, and humiliation in political conflict. Research on emotional aspects of radicalization is needed. For instance, it is not clear whether hate is an emotion or a powerful form of negative identification that can be the occasion of many emotions - both positive and negative - depending on what is happening to the target of hatred (Royzman, McCauley, & Rozin, 2005). Similarly, it is not clear whether humiliation is...

Fingerprint

...1 Learning Fingerprint Reconstruction: From Minutiae to Image Kai Cao and Anil K. Jain, Fellow, IEEE Abstract—The set of minutia points is considered to be the most distinctive feature for fingerprint representation and is widely used in fingerprint matching. It was believed that the minutiae set does not contain sufficient information to reconstruct the original fingerprint image from which minutiae were extracted. However, recent studies have shown that it is indeed possible to reconstruct fingerprint images from their minutiae representations. Reconstruction techniques demonstrate the need for securing fingerprint templates, improve the template interoperability and improve fingerprint synthesis. But, there is still a large gap between the matching performance obtained from original fingerprint images and their corresponding reconstructed fingerprint images. In this paper, the prior knowledge about fingerprint ridge structures is encoded in terms of orientation patch and continuous phase patch dictionaries to improve the fingerprint reconstruction. The orientation patch dictionary is used to reconstruct the orientation field from minutiae, while the continuous phase patch dictionary is used to reconstruct the ridge pattern. Experimental results on three public domain databases (FVC2002 DB1 A, FVC2002 DB2 A and NIST SD4) demonstrate that the proposed reconstruction algorithm outperforms the stateof-the-art reconstruction algorithms in terms of both i) spurious ...

...9-709-424 JULY 1, 2008 MIKOŁAJ JAN PISKORSKI HANNA HAŁABURDA TROY SMITH eHarmony Greg Waldorf, the CEO of eHarmony, was in his car driving down the Interstate 10 Freeway after a day-long meeting with eHarmony’s senior leadership team. The sole purpose of this October 2007 meeting was to decide how the company should address recent competitor actions. After many deliberations, Waldorf’s executive team was able to identify four strategic options. Now, Waldorf and Greg Steiner, the President and COO, who was sitting next to him, were debating which option the company should pursue. As the two whizzed down the car pool lane, passing cars stuck in traffic, they reflected on eHarmony’s success. This online personals site targeted marriage-minded individuals and offered a unique product which combined an extensive relationship questionnaire, a patented matching system and a guided communication system. Despite charging a premium for its services, eHarmony had experienced phenomenal membership growth while its competitors stalled. As a consequence, it was able to increase its paying membership base to slightly less than a half of its largest competitor, even though it entered the market six years after they did. The success of eHarmony did not go unnoticed. From the beginning, competitors had been copying some of the company’s product features and closing the price gap. More recently, Match, eHarmony’s biggest competitor, had increased its advertising expenditures...
