Daktronics
Daktronics continues to grow within the digital sign industry by investing in new technology. Currently, Daktronics sells into a widely assorted market consisting of commercial (retailers), financial institutions, outdoor advertisers, and similar businesses; live events, which comprises of large colleges and universities, professional sports teams, sports facilities, etc. and transportation, which includes state and local transportation departments, airlines, transit stations and parking facilities (IBIS World). One of Daktronics largest sources of revenue is sport arenas. The company has developed a number of products to enhance billboard functionality in stadiums and similar locations by providing timing and management software for scoreboards. “The live events market is typically the company’s biggest moneymaker. In fiscal 2012, the segment contributed 32.9% of the company’s revenue after accounting for 36.7% in 2011. The large product orders cause the year-to-year contribution of each market to Daktronics ‘ total revenue to fluctuate. For example, in 2012, the commercial segment grew 32.1%” (IBIS World). They are developing and strengthening its presence in the aviation, mass transit, parking and ITS market niches. “Design and specifications are important elements to the deployment and application of technology- especially in our markets,” said DeWayne, who is Daktronics new Transportation Manager since 2003. He believes as a supplier, Daktronics develops and produces leading-edge technologies, which will “position them as a valuable technical resource for designers, engineers, architects and consultants. “ (DKTR Transportation Blog).

Toshiba
Toshiba is proceeding to be one of the leading technology manufacturers available with their extensive range of products, anywhere from computers and hard drives to T.V.s and digital displays. Reliable in every product line they have Toshiba is changing the technological world with their cutting edge innovation. They rely heavily on training and schooling in areas of math and science, which they believe, is the foundation to creative thinking and new ideas that can possibly take them into future endeavors. Toshiba is also a thirteen-time winner of BTA’s “Most favored Manufacturer” and eight-time winner of “Marketing Research Consultants”. Toshiba noticeably has a tremendous marketing team from the award standpoint but also continues to make marvelous moves in the technology market. The company could improve their overall customer service but having such a large and diverse company makes that a challenge. Financially the company is among the larges and most profitable in recent years, which comes from their wide range of products as well as the quality they bring to ever one of their customers.

LSI Industries
LSI industries have been around since 1976 and continue to be successful. The key values include leadership, strength, and innovation. LSI continues their dedication to expanding technology throughout the company. They offer high quality lighting and graphic products within the Unites States and Canada. LSI focuses on providing reasonable prices to customers but also have good quality that adds value to the customer, and also strives for energy-efficient products. LSI offers lighting for indoor, outdoor, landscape, and sports. There are various markets that LSI provides for automotive, commercial, entertainment, grocery/drug store, and industrial, institutional, international, petroleum, QSR, retail, or tennis and sport venues. This company does business with a divers group such as Burger king, Ford, Wal-Mart, and Exxon Mobil for example. LSI provides their quality lighting in parking garages, rooftop parking lots, and streetlights. The company assures excellent customer service that is unmatched.

Trans-Lux is a leader in sign manufacturing, distribution, and servicing of real time programmable electronic displays for the indoor and outdoor markets. The corporation is small. However, the company has a large diversity of products offered that range from entertainment, gaming, financial, corporate, and transportation. Trans-Lux has stayed on the cutting edge with new technology. One example is energy efficient LED lighting systems that cut the energy costs of the customer. Trans Lux Corporation is creating products that decrease customers expense in owning the sign but without sacrificing the product quality.
