The grassroots activism is not a group of people who are on places looking for violence, grassroots activist is crowd of people fighting for something to be truly believed by them reaching out to establish a change. A grass root activist is one who sets out their minds to make a change as betterment for one’s self or others being affected by the same problem. Grassroots activism contributed to changes in public policy and influenced the success of the civil rights movement after World War II by creating a national view of the racial division in the south, starting boycotts and protest in favor of desegregation and creating equality, and having forming programs to help involve African Americans in the U.S government. The Civil Rights Movement…show more content… Due to the fact that they would eventually be the ones to establish the Civil Rights bill and put an end to racial discrimination and segregation. As Civil Rights as mentioned on Document 29.1 pg. 3 of 8 under Executive Order of 9981, we can conclude that the reason this document was important because it was a key component in desegregating the national army. Executive Order 9981, states that there should be no such thing such as discrimination of sex, color, race, ethnicity, etc. off and on work places. This was a huge non-civil rights deal for those engaged but showed that the government would lean toward equality to help end suggestion because they insisted on having for the first time African Americans be part of our U.S Army. Roughly About 95% of African Americans served in the U.S Army. Another case in which we see the individuals trying to have African Americans become more involved in the U.S government would be freedom summer. Which white men and women would set out to help many African Americans in the south become registered voters and have their say so in our government. Freedom Summer would be the main leading Factor that would lead to the Voting Rights Bill of 1965. Many programs were put in place to help African Americans be involved in the government so may have had greater impacts than others but this would be a success for grass root activist that were seeking out to have their Civil Rights Movement end
