Outline of the Report
Decorative Interiors(DI) is the company established by Rocco Rapini in 1988, which specialized in sales and services of upholstery, bedding, window coverings, wallpaper, carpets and other home décor items.
From 1992-2002, DI sales were grown resulting in profits. At the same time, work on Rocco Rapini and his wife was also increased. They tried to hire decorators but resulted in negative experiences. But finally they appointed Mary Morris as commission-based sales person. She increased the company’s sales to record values. But she behaves as a dominating person to Rocco Rapini and used company’s connections for her benefit. Rocco Rapini dismissed her in august, 2005.
Since 18 months, sales were not improved and at the same time, interior design business became more competitive. With the stress of business, Rapini affected with heart attack in July 8, 2006 and doctors advised him to change his life style.
Problem statement is Rapini is thinking about whether to choose best alternative ways available to continue his business or to consider doctor’s advice.
Available options were selling the business, convert to home-based operation, move the business to cottage country and hire professional help.
Based on the criteria of health, future financial stability for his family, future growth of business, my recommendation is to hire the professional which satisfies all the criteria.

Inner Beauty

...Inner Beauty and Physical Beauty Beauty is defined as the qualities of a person that delight and please the minds of other people. The two major beauties are inner beauty and physical beauty. Inner beauty consists of the qualities that one cannot see but can still sense. Physical beauty consists of the qualities that one can see, and is often inherited from a parent or ancestor. These two beauties often have an impact on personal success and happiness. Inner beauty is based on the personality, attitude, traits, and the way people represents themselves to the world. Inner beauty is decorous and constantly makes other people happy. Physical beauty is an individual’s outer appearance such as body type, hair, eye color, face features, skin type, etc. This is the beauty in which other people see first. People often mistakenly label the physical beauty as inner beauty. Another difference between inner beauty and physical beauty is how that beauty is achieved. Inner beauty relates to how people behave. It can be changed through actions, manners and behaviors. Physical beauty is largely inherited from parents. But physical beauty can also be changed with cosmetic procedures and plastic surgery. People often choose such interventions to make a more acceptable image. The importance of the two beauties is the quality. Many people feel inner beauty is more important and pure than physical beauty. It does not lie and involves the heart, mind and soul. Inner beauty...

The Awakening

...In the novel, The Awakening, by Katie Chopin, main character Edna Pontellier struggles to find her identity between being her outer self and her inner self. Her outer self, as Chopin describes, is the one that conforms based on society’s expectations of her. Edna’s inner self, on the other hand, is the one that questions her outer self and is authentic to who she truly is when free of society’s norms. As the novel progresses, Edna’s desire to identify more with her inner self rather than conforming to her outer self increases; Edna begins to devote more time towards her paintings and furthermore, moves out from her residency with her husband. However, in the process of accepting her inner self, Edna is no longer able to fit in as a functioning member of society. She as a result becomes frustrated and depressed. Furthermore, not even those who are closest to her (for example, Robert) are able to understand her needs and desires. As a result comes the ending: Edna’s ultimate death in a search for independence (her swim out to the sea). Such ending comes as a shock with no real solution for Edna other than death. However, such ending is conclusive because of its realistic parallels to society that Chopin is trying to highlight. Chopin’s ending of the book serves as a commentary of society’s expectations of women. Chopin’s main message, as highlighted through the ending, is the expectations society places onto women is an ultimatum forcing women to either conform to its norms or...

We Should Wear Pants

...APOLLO .W. MBOGO ( MOI UNIVERSITY) Professor’s Name: Course: Date: We Should Wear Pants A pant refers to any cloth that is worn under/inside an individual’s outer clothes. Elizabeth Smith Miller was the first woman to discover an inner ware in 1851. She sought to come with a reformed system of women’s dressing code.Innerwares are of different categories and are meant to serve diverse purposes. For instance some men widely use shorts to serve as their undergarments. Other related undergarments that serve the same purpose as the pants include the t-shirts, vests and others. There are some contentions on whether the women specifically should wear pants. Christians argue that women are not supposed to wear men garment and men should not wear women garments either. The wearing of pants by women is opposed among some Christians in the society. Pants play different roles to different people depending on their perceptions. Pants are normally used for their different roles such as providing warmth to the body (Rushton & Susie, p.4). In addition, they are used in absorbing dirt emanating from the body since they are in direct contact with the body. Pants therefore serve hygienic purposes, warmth as well as comfort. Good body aeration is achieved by wearing clean pants. Among some communities; they are used for religious purposes. When it is worn to serve the purpose of hygiene, a pant normally helps to absorb dirt emanating from the body. This is helpful since the outer clothes...

Most probably, we are talking about big amount of money here. Because renovation covers the outer and inner part of the entire hotel up to finishing touches. Second, is the Budget for Renovation. Complying with government requirements is another major task. It is really needed before starting any renovation. We needed to spend time and also money in processing all necessary documents. Fourth, the Renovation Concept/Theme. This talks about the changes that we wanted to apply in an old hotel. Design concerns and also the theme. Conceptualization process is part of this one. Fifth, is the Time Frame. We need to have clear time frame before we renovate a hotel. The length of construction period must be given attention. The number of working days per week and how many months or years it will take to finish the renovation. And lastly, the Reliable Contractor. A very good contractor will result to a perfect hotel building . A reliable contractor will make the entire work easier, faster and if possible, less expensive than expected. Conformal Mapping

...SOME PROBLEMS IN CONFORMAL MAPPING D. C. SPENCER 1. Introduction. Attention will be confined to a group of problems centering around so-called schlicht functions—that is, functions regular in a given domain and assuming no value there more than once. The type of problem we consider involves determination of precise bounds for certain quantities depending on the function/, as ƒ ranges over the schlicht functions in question. Since, for suitable normalization of the functions at some fixed point of the domain, the resulting family of functions is compact or normal, the extremal schlicht functions always exist and the problem is to characterize them. Interest was focused on this category of questions by the work of Koebe in the years 1907-1909, who established for the family of funct i o n s / o f the form ƒ(z) = z+a2Z2+aszz+ • • • , schlicht and regular in \z\ < 1 , a series of properties, among them the theorem of distortion bearing Koebe's name. This theorem asserts the existence of bounds for the absolute value of the derivative ƒ'(s), these bounds depending only on \z\. Further efforts were directed toward finding the precise values of the bounds asserted by Koebe's theorem, but success was not attained until 1916 when Bieberbach, Faber, Pick and others gave a final form to the theorem of distortion. At the same time the precise bound for | a2\ was given, namely 2, and the now famous conjecture was made that \an\ ^n for every n. Since 1916 this group of problems has attracted...
