Derek Jeter has made many impacts on America. He has wrote many books like Hit and Miss, The Contract, and The Derek Jeter's All-Star manual. Derek created a charity called the turn 2 foundation. The turn 2 foundation helps kids and teens avoid drugs and alcohol. Derek also became the captain of the New York Yankees. He stayed the captain for 11 years! In the beginning of his career he became the rookie of the year. When he was on the Yankees he won 5 world series. In 2000 he won 3 awards. Jeter was named All-Star Game Most Valuable Player Award, The Babe Ruth Award, and the World Series Most Valuable Player Award all in 2000! Jeter became the 23rd member of the 3,000 hits club, the 4th-youngest player to reach the milestone,
