I could literally survive off of this dish if I was stranded on a desert island. Ever since I took my first bite I’ve been in love ever since. Frozen, hand tossed, pan… I don’t discriminate because no other type of pizza is bad to me. If you don’t like pizza I don’t know why because honestly I’ll believe you’ve been living under a rock. Don’t knock it till’ you’ve tried it.
Out of one week I think I can statistically say I eat pizza 70% of the time. I never get tired of eating it. I’ve once eaten pizza for a straight week and didn’t get sick once. Give me a stove and 100 pizzas and they’ll all be gone within a few months. That’s how serious it is. I don’t apply to work at pizza parlors because if I’m the cook they won’t get to who

Maximum Ride School's Out Forever Analysis

... The characters of Maximum Ride: School’s Out Forever, learn three lessons; how to use their abilities to their advantage, trying to be normal is not always the best choice, and don’t let love cover their best judgment. Max, the main character and leader of the “flock,” a group of 5 other teenage avian-human hybrids, struggles the most with these concepts. From escaping and running from their enemies the Erasers, the flock have come to a safe place where Erasers have not wanted to banter them but instead find a time to take them out one by one with clones of the flock. The flock is smaller and are more agile mutants compared to the Erasers. When they fight the Erasers on an almost weekly basis, they use their insidious movements to catch their enemies off guard. “You...are...a...fridge...with wings,' Fang ground out, punching an Eraser hard with every word. 'We're...freaking...ballet...dancers” (Patterson 15-16). Fang is one of the oldest members of the flock, one of the belligerents, and knows how to get into his opponent’s head. Fang was showing the difference between the flock and the “experiments gone wrong,” in size, agility, and most importantly flying ability. The battle ended with another point added to the flock like Super Bowl 50, when the Broncos gibed the Panthers! (Simile) Since, the Erasers were chased out of battle, the flock got time to recuperate until Fang started to bleed with the blood of a human getting cut by their razor blade while shaving, except on a...

Figurative Language In Lord Of The Flies

...In Lord of the Flies, author William Golding uses figurative language at the end of chapter nine to illustrate that the goodness and peacefulness Simon once brought to the island full of chaos and savage boys, has now vanished and washed into the sea along with his dead body. No matter Simon’s beauty, he can’t turn the boys to good. Simon, after passing out from dehydration and experiencing vivid hallucinations, stirs awake, only to realize he’s been out in his serene hideout for quite awhile. He then decides to snap back to reality and begin looking for the beast on top of the mountain. When he finally arrives to the mountaintop, he discovers a dead, decaying parachuters body with its strings tangled in the various trees, moving about the wind. Simon...

...Dystopia ≠ Utopia A dystopia is a fictional society, usually portrayed as existing in a future time, where the conditions of life are extremely bad due to oppression, or terror. Science fiction (particularly post-apocalyptic science fiction and cyberpunk stories set in an imaginary future world controlled by technology and computers) often feature dystopias. Common traits of Dystopian fiction:  The setting is the future, but often with contemporary social trends taken to extremes incorporated on purpose.  A hierarchical society where there are unbending and definitive divisions between the upper, middle and lower class  Society is conditioned to fear the outside world, and one of the methods for achieving this is the restriction of information and freedom.  A corrupt authoritarian and totalitarian government creates or sustains the poor quality of life  This government makes people believe that society is proper and just, even perfect.  State propaganda makes citizens worship the state the leader of the state and the government.  There is strict conformity among citizens and the general assumption that having opinions and individuality is bad  The penal system often employs psychological or physical torture  Violence, cruelty and aggressiveness are always present.  Dystopias are frequently written as warnings, or as social satire, criticizing a current trend, norm or political system. Constant Gardener

...In the midst of a raging war, a plane evacuating a group of schoolboys from Britain is shot down over a deserted tropical island. Two of the boys, Ralph and Piggy, discover a conch shell on the beach, and Piggy realizes it could be used as a horn to summon the other boys. Once assembled, the boys set about electing a leader and devising a way to be rescued. They choose Ralph as their leader, and Ralph appoints another boy, Jack, to be in charge of the boys who will hunt food for the entire group. Ralph, Jack, and another boy, Simon, set off on an expedition to explore the island. When they return, Ralph declares that they must light a signal fire to attract the attention of passing ships. The boys succeed in igniting some dead wood by focusing sunlight through the lenses of Piggy’s eyeglasses. However, the boys pay more attention to playing than to monitoring the fire, and the flames quickly engulf the forest. A large swath of dead wood burns out of control, and one of the youngest boys in the group disappears, presumably having burned to death. At first, the boys enjoy their life without grown-ups and spend much of their time splashing in the water and playing games. Ralph, however, complains that they should be maintaining the signal fire and building huts for shelter. The hunters fail in their attempt to catch a wild pig, but their leader, Jack, becomes increasingly preoccupied with the act of hunting. When a ship passes by on the horizon one day, Ralph and Piggy notice...

...****Take note of points 2 and 6**** Title: Good grief: Lord of the Flies as a post-war rewriting of salvation history Author: Marijke van Vuuren 1. Introduction "It is a great pleasure to meet you, Mr Golding," said King Carl XVI Gustaf, presenting William Golding with the Nobel Prize in 1983. "I had to do Lord of the Flies at school" (Monteith, 1986:63). The Swedish king's words may well be echoed by countless people worldwide who have "had to do" Golding's first novel in various English courses. Indeed, this "unpleasant novel about small boys behaving unspeakably on a desert island" (1) may well have been done to death by exhaustive but reductive reading and teaching. Where Lord of the Flies has been read reductively, Original Sin writ large over it, readers have tended to respond to the novel in terms of its doleful view of humanity or its perceived theology. Its initial success reflected post-war pessimism, the loss of what Golding (1988a:163) has called his generation's "liberal and naive belief in the perfectability of man". Although the novel does not groan under a dogmatic burden to the extent that some critics have alleged, it has seemed the prime example of Golding's earlier writing, a tightly structured allegory or fable. … It is not surprising that the Bible's first and last books, on humankind's "origins and end" beyond the horizons of knowledge, turn to symbolic narrative. In Lord of the Flies Golding draws heavily on imagery from Genesis and the Apocalypse...

He uses his knowledge and reasoning to come up with new ideas, this is shown several times throughout the novel. Piggy believes in law and order, he holds on to civilization til his death. At the beginning of the novel Piggy isn’t afraid to be himself and shows pride for his actions. This is shown at the beginning of the novel when he’s having a conversation with ralph and says “I was the only boy in our school what had asthma. And I’ve been wearing specs since I was three”. He says this with a touch of pride, he feels unique and likes to be the center of attention. He sees his uniqueness as a strength, not as a flaw. He is, out of all the boys the most calm and collected, mentally. When the officer arrived at the island the boys were stunned, but at the same time half of their mind said “Let’s go home,” and the other half said “I want to stay.” As happy as Ralph is to go home, he has a lot that is going to have to be re-taught before everything returns to normal. Compared to expectations for Jack, Ralph’s transition to “normalcy” will be somewhat smoother and easier.
