The four approaches are known as public speaking when they are presented to a group of people. When to use the four approaches is when you are scheduling to make a presentation. Pick the four approaches techniques that will be appropriate for the content of the presentation and for the audience. A speech or lecture is the act of speaking and is once the orator is speaking to a huge crowd of individuals about a specific subject matter. In a speech or lecture, the orator is distributing material that is essential for the audience to listen to. A speech or lecture can be used when the orator addresses a large group, and little interaction is expected. Orator takes a huge amount of material in a short period of time.
A workshop is used to communicate to a group about a subject matter. The orator would discuss the material stages and in what way the project should be complete. The audience at that time would be given a chance to do some of the stages of the project or ask questions if they do not understand how to do a certain part of the project. The location of a workshop would be in a classroom, a store or shop.
A discussion is to talk about something that needs to be spoken or when there is a topic that should be brought to the conversation. A discussion is usually used with a smaller group; audiences. The orator may have subjects or requests for discussion, and the group members are fortified to take part.
A group activity is occasionally the best way to have the audiences take part in an action and try out a new talent or performance. Group activities frequently consist of title role plays, voting on different topics or positions about a subject or starting smaller groups that work on a task and then present what they learned to other audiences or groups.

Personal selling can be referred to as one of the major promotional methods used in business either by the people employed, by the total expenditures, or by the expenses as a percentage of sales. This paper will discuss developing a personal selling philosophy, selling factors style in a global environment, and examining a fit assessment. Creating a Personal Selling Philosophy Personal selling is the interactive process whereby a buyer and a seller negotiate an exchange process. It is usually, though not necessarily, carried out in a fact-to-face encounter between the parties [ (Blythe, 2009) ]. Personal selling is tailored specifically to respond to the customers’ needs and resolve their problem. Salespeople are encouraged to develop a personal selling philosophy based on the three prescriptions: adopt the marketing concepts, value personal selling and assume the role of a problem solver or partner. Sales trainers and writers have emphasized the problem-solving aspects of selling for many years now: the most successful presentations are those in which the customer does most of the talking (Blythe, 2009). Often times, customers will tell the salesperson exactly how to sell them the product (provided they are allowed to talk), problem-solving is at the core of the activity rather than one-way communication via the salesperson. Audience Analysis Paper

...Audience Analysis Paper An audience analysis is a very important first step to successfully preparing for a presentation. Analyzing an audience to present to a group of stakeholders can be quite a tedious task, and the difficulty lies in anticipating responses and needs. Stakeholders are a very diverse group ranging from management to customers, so making sure to prepare the presentation in a way that each subgroup can understand is the critical aspect of performing and communicating successfully. This paper explains the necessary steps to complete an audience analysis. Focusing on presenting quarterly sales information to managers, salespeople, and customers, all preparations are discussed to ensure proper communication that can be understood by everyone in the audience. To begin an audience analysis, it is necessary to determine what characteristics of the audience must be considered. In this case, it is especially important to first identify the primary differences between the subgroups of the stakeholders. Managers, salespeople, and customers will be present, and all have varying needs that will be expected in the presentation of the quarterly sales information. According to Locker and Kienzler (2008), the primary audience usually acts on the information presented and secondary audiences will ultimately be the implementers of ideas stemming from the presentation. In the stakeholder group who will be present at the meeting, the managers are the primary audience and the salespeople...

According to Locker and Keinzler (2008), the first step in analyzing an audience is to determine who the audience is. Identifying the audience and their motivations will assist you in learning how to reach them, and what messages to use to accomplish the task (Locker & Keinzler, 2008). Audience Characteristics Determine my Audience. The first step in developing my presentation, I will have to determine who my audience is. This is to ensure that I deliver an effective and clear presentation, with the focus on who is receiving the message. I am already aware that the audience consists of stakeholders, managers, salespeople, and customers. Therefore, given the audience, I can presume that I will be expecting a diverse group of people attending my presentation. Some of the characteristics I will have to consider may be demographic, to include age, sex orientation, ethnical backgrounds, or even occupations (THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI, n.d.). Gathering this type of information is considered demographic analysis (Skinner & Windley, 2010). Sales Presentation

...What is a sales presentation? In a nut shell, a sales presentation is an advertisement delivered in person to the customer. The sole purpose of it is to make the customer buy your product. In consumer world, advertisements are extensively used - either in TV or Radio or Magazines/Paper or Internet. But In business to business world, advertising through conventional media does not work, so companies developed a set of slides - which contain certain messages to the customer. And this is conventionally called as "sales presentation" Brief History In early 1900's, these slides were nothing but some printed sheets of paper accompanied with a live demonstration of the product. Later in 1950's, few companies began to use a set of film slides which could be projected on a screen, a few companies in US also began to use film projectors to show short video clippings. These clippings were in fact advertisements made by a professional agency. This presentation using slide film projectors were very expensive and often it was out of reach of small firms - even in big companies, the number of presentations were very limited. With the advent of plastic films from 3M and laser printers, a new form of sales presentation emerged - Computer generated slides which could be projected via a OHP (Over Head Projector). This marked the beginning of low cost computer generated presentations. (On a personal note, I still recall presenting my college project dissertation on a OHP - the slides were...
