DEVOTIONAL: “Can You Praise Under Pressure?!”

List of Helpful Scriptures:

* Jeremiah 17:14 * Psalm 118:23 * Hebrews 13:15 * Psalm 117:1-2 * Psalm 100:4
* 1 Peter 1:7 * James 1:3 * James 2:17

How many of us are dealing with a certain situation right now and we just don't see a viable solution? How many have lost their livelihood and feel zombie-like when it comes to their faith? How many of you feel as if God has forgotten you? Well I come to encourage & let you know that you are not alone, but it feels as if the walls are closing in from every side making it difficult to know if God even knows your name. One thing you must remember is that the enemy will attack when you are most vulnerable, and it's not that God doesn't see or hear you in distress, but it's a similar concept that was exhibited in the movie "Ray" (based on the life of legendary music great Ray Charles); as a young boy Ray was trying to cope with the fact that he had completely lost his sight and was declared legally blind. He was running though the house and tripped, as much as he cried out & yelled for his mother's help [and as reluctant as she was] she chose not to wrap her baby in her loving arms, she realized that if she continued to rescue him immediately everytime he got into a troublesome situation he would never learn the lessons she needed him to. When he sensed she wasn't coming he began to listen to his surroundings to guide himself along the way.
Well, similarly, we may walk into situations blindly (due to choices or connections) & when they become detrimental or toxic, we automatically want God to come to our rescue. When He doesn't show up according to our timeframe (and not His), we start to doubt in the words we've spoken during our prayer & meditation times. The enemy lies in wait for any opportunity to infiltrate our mind, heart, & spirit to try and convince us even more that God is fed up with our sinning behaviors and lied about never forsaking us.
This, in the words of my pastor, is considered to be your "tight place"; but what did Paul & Silas do that enabled the chains & shackles to be loosed & broken?! EXACTLY!! They sang, danced, prayed, and PRAISED their way out!!
God needs to know that we trust Him enough to work it out, but in doing so we won't get discouraged and give up on Him and as a result, blocking or denying ourselves of the Blessings He has already lined up for us. You have to know that it's not enough to just praise God when He blesses you with good things, but you should be praising to unlock the doors to that turnaround you're expecting. As a matter of fact, your praise should exceed your level of expectation to the point you are thanking God as if it has already come to pass. You should get joy when you think about all God has done for you because it's an indication the HE IS ABLE!! Learn to live through it and praise as you go, because all that you need and seek is on the other side of through.
Lastly, I would like to say that even if God doesn't perform that which you seek, He may very well be protecting you for what's ahead, but still be grateful in knowing that He's technically already done enough!! Praise is your weapon, so now go use it!!!!

***Say This Prayer: ***

Revive me oh God! Give me an audible praise throughout my silent struggle. Bring restoration of joy & jubilee to my heart & spirit. Reassure me that I am not alone, that I don't have to keep walking around just functioning & not really operating in my gift or purpose you've predestined for me. Show me the way to praise in my purpose... ON PURPOSE!! I'll be so careful to give Your name THE PRAISE, all Glory & honor belong to thee forever & always! #Amen

...resulting in amazing encounters, miracles, and powerful leadership on Moses’ part. Imagine the pressure Joshua must have felt in taking his place! But God has been training Joshua even at an early age. While he was still young, Joshua would not leave the tent where God’s presence was. This was the best kind of preparation for him—a consistent face-to-face encounter with God. When the time came, God would also do great wonders through Joshua and during his leadership. We, too, are called by God to do great things and the best way we can prepare for this is by having a strong relationship with Him. Our ability to share our faith, lead others to Jesus, and make disciples is fueled by a lifestyle of constantly hearing His voice and obeying His Word. There is no doubt that God has a mighty plan for this generation. The question is, will we be like Joshua and have fellowship with our mighty God who wants to do great things through us? REFLECT • Are you making a habit of connecting to God regularly and intimately? Is your time in the Word and in prayer consistent? • What are your greatest distractions when reading the Word and praying? REsPonD • • Set aside a time to connect to God without distractions. Don’t forget to unplug from those digital devices that constantly grab your attention. Set a regular time of prayer and reading the Bible everyday. Relationships

...[pic] Christian Relationships Unit 1: Worship 1. Preliminary concerns 1.1. Misconceptions about worship The first popular misconception is that ‘worship is singing’. We treat ‘worship’ and ‘singing praises’ as synonymous terms. We speak as if they are the same thing. To reduce worship to singing is to dilute the biblical concept of worship in a way that is grossly irresponsible. It reduces the richness of biblical worship to one of its components. Yet when many Christians today commonly speak about worship, they mean nothing more than ‘singing’. |When you think or speak of worship, do you automatically associate it with ‘singing worship songs’? Is this the common usage| |in your church? If so, how do you think this fault crept into your vocabulary? | | | There are probably many ways this misconception has crept into our language and our thought. One key factor is that we have tended to label Christian music as ‘worship’, and we often call the person who leads the singing in our churches ‘the worship leader’. Unfortunately, this has caused us to equate worship with singing. A second misconception is that ‘worship is something we do on special occasions’. Worship is what we do when we gather with God’s people. The activities that make...

...punished. 3 For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you.4 The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. But if you are doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to punish you. They are God’s servants, sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong. 5 So you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience. 6 Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority. Love Fulfills God’s Requirements 8 Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law. 9 For the commandments say, “You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not covet.”[a] These—and other such commandments—are summed up in this one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[b] 10 Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law. 11 This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night...

...been many changes, additions, and improvements during this time. Adventurer Ministry has shown huge growth as well. Youngsters in this age group are full of energy and get excited about being a part of an organization that is designed to expand their view of their world and strengthen their relationship with God, Mom, and Dad through ways that are so much fun. The roof over Adventurer Ministry is supported by several strong pillars. You hold in your hands one of them: the latest updated manual covering all 83 currently accepted Awards for use around the world. There is of course, one small problem: This area of Adventurer fun is not a static field of possibilities, it is a constantly growing—maybe almost exploding—source of activity. Therefore even at the time of this edition’s printing, there are already more Awards being created, piloted, and introduced. You will want to check out the General Conference Youth Ministry website periodically to see what new fun, eye opening, mind expanding, energizing Awards are coming out next. We recommend that you carefully review all of the Awards herein published and select for your program a variety that will provide each of your Adventurers with a well-rounded program to...

The first grouping belongs to the ethnic tradition, which comprises oral lore identifiably precolonial in provenance and works that circulate within contemporary communities of tribal Filipinos, or among lowland Filipinos that have maintained their links with the culture of their non-Islamic or non-Christian ancestors. The second grouping consists of works that show Spanish derivation or influence in the themes and forms employed, and these may include literary works that are translations of original Spanish writings, or adaptations of the same.
