Dick’s Sporting Goods is such a great shopping experience physically. Walking into the stores your amaze instantly, there’s an old- time feeling with the wooden logs throughout the whole store. Most of the stores I’ve been in at least two huge tanks with different variety of fishes swimming around. Depends which day you go shopping, sometimes they have in store events. And it’s an awesome place for children, with different activities to get into like fishing, drawing, or whatever.

Dick’s online store is fairly easy to navigate around and shop on. Everything on the website is set up nicely. They practically offer most of the same thing that the store offers. Organizational Culture: Dicks Sporting Goods

...Culture: Dicks Sporting Good Logistics: The store I chose to observe was Dicks sporting goods, which is located in the Cordova Mall at the intersection of Airport Boulevard and North 9th Avenue, Pensacola, FL. It is located directly across from both Pensacola State College and Sacred Heart Hospital, each a very busy campus.  It is also right by the airport, which attracts lots of attention and traffic flow.  These roads are extremely busy during almost all hours of the day, so the likelihood of stores’ hosting shoppers in indirectly increased. Dicks Sporting Goods is in a great location and is surrounded by many stores and restaurants, ultimately giving customers perceived convenience. My observation was done on November 12th at 6pm with my father. Overview of the Organization: Stores that deliver finished products to the public classify the retail industry. In 1927, there was an unjust tax on sporting goods of 10 percent tax on every retail stores of sporting goods. This tax led sporting good dealers to create The National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA), which fought to repeal the tax, and supports its members by allowing them to be profitable. Hard goods are just one of many categories that retail entails. Hard goods include those products that are sold in sporting goods stores. Much of society today now prefers one-stop shopping with retail stores emerging on every corner that provide all types of products from groceries to clothing. Dick’s Sporting Goods, Inc....

Rei vs Ll Bean

...L.L. Bean’s website appears to appeal to the outdoor enthusiast and has a wide array of products available for the consumer. My guess is that L.L. Bean’s target market is more geared toward families that want to be equipped for the outdoors and that lead an active life. L.L. Bean continues to hold a very high spot in the market, known for it’s exceptional customer service and return policy. L.L. Bean’s product line is similar to REI’s with a more diverse array of products, such as, fly-fishing & hunting. L.L. Bean’s pricing is markedly lower than REI’s prestigious pricing. While L.L. Bean is able to keep prices lower, it still maintains a certain respect & dignity for quality in the market. REI limits its customers because of its pricing and definitely deters many average, middle class consumers from being able to shop there. REI offers a lifetime membership for $20 which claims discounted prices and special deals for joining. L.L. Bean is available to all consumers at the same price. The Sports Authority is another similar company that gears to the active and outdoorsman. The Sports Authority focuses mainly on traditional sports and doesn’t have as much to offer for the active, outdoor type people. The Sports Authority has struggled the past several years with the influx of other discount warehouses offering similar products & concepts. The Sports Authority’s prices are much lower than REI’s offering the average consumer better opportunities to afford their products...

Nike Mercurial Cleat Analysis

...style of the spikes. My price range would be about $150, I prefer low top cleats, I rely on my cleats to be super lightweight because I am a midfielder and I run all over the field, and lastly the style of my cleat would have to be the original style with twelve studs. A fair price on a great set of boots would range from around $90 to $120. I know that sounds really high priced but if you have been playing a long time and you want the best type of boot, that’s a fair price. Let’s start off with the mercurial superfly cleats. They range from $140 to $230 (Dicks Sporting Goods). The reason they are so high on price is because they are the newest set of cleats and they are supposed to reduce the risk of rolling your ankle. Next is the mercurial vapor 10. They range from $170 to $240 (Dicks Sporting Goods). Then comes the mercurial vapor 9 (IX). They are your cheapest set of boots. They range from $120 to $140 (Dicks Sporting Goods). They are your best bet if you want more of a fair price. My choice would be the Vapor 10’s. They fit in my price range. Let’s move on to the weight factor. A soccer player needs to have very light cleats to move up and down the field. The vapor 9 weighs in an outstanding 6.6 ounces. They were the lightest pair of cleats until the vapor 10. The vapor 10 weighs in at 6.4 ounces which is now the lightest pair of vapors. So far my choice would be the vapor 10. The superfly weighs in at 6.9 ounces, the heaviest cleat. My overall choice would still be the...

...Market Mix: The Best Bang For Your Buck American InterContinental University April 5, 2012 Donald Buehrig Busn105-1202A-269: Introduction to Business Unit 3 Individual Project Abstract In this paper you will see how you can use the market mix to do research on a particular product. Using the four p’s to narrow down your choice in a flooded market makes you realize that everything that we buy has been thru some sort of research on how to appeal to the consumer. Once I answer this question then I start shopping around looking for the product that fits best. I have been in the market for a new trolling motor and decided on the Minn Kota riptide. Spalding Swot Analysis

...Spalding is a sporting goods company for baseball, volleyball, and gymnasium equipment. “It is committed to being the highest quality brand of authentic sporting goods equipment in the world (Spalding-Basketball)”. As the marketing executive for Spalding, it’s time for me to seek new sponsorships. A potential new sponsor for our sports brand is the NBA Charlotte Hornets. The Charlotte Hornets is a professional basketball team in Charlotte, NC. They are known for the mascot “Hugo” and the original color scheme of purple and teal. The majority owner of Charlotte Hornets is Michael Jordan and having a huge icon and great athlete as a representative of the team, there is no other reason why Spalding shouldn’t reach out. Spalding is currently the official basketball provider for the NBA League, but there have been some edits into that determined factor. Spalding is now seeking to add individual teams of the league as a part of our sponsors based on our new objective for the NBA, “respecting the game and providing products that make superior performance possible...

Video Teleconferencing

...Chanel Carter September 15, 2015 The current technology that I believe will have the most impact on the way work is done is video teleconferencing, which allows two or more to interact via two-way video and audio transmissions. Nowadays businesses are looking to reduce traveling expenses and increase productivity. For instance, during my internship at Widmer Interiors, an interior design firm, I first witnessed and experienced videoconferencing in a business aspect. This specific company was transitioning into modern day technology due to so many designers having to constantly leave the office for meetings with vendors, contractors, or clients. As opposed the typical emails we would send, videoconferences inspired the empathy that business relationships are built on. During my video calls, all of my client’s facets of communication were replicated, from tone of voice to facial cues, creating a stronger and connected relationship. Video teleconferencing can have a dramatic effect on productivity by giving business partners a sense of being in the same room. For example, videoconferences are more effective than staring at a phone during a conference calls or reading countless messages. This real-life like interaction can result in things such as better decision making by information being readily available to all workers involved. This source of technology is also affective for mobile workers and those that telecommute in the sense that you can also participate...

Nonetheless, I have learned that God has blessed all people with the gift to help others. Even when you are faced with a bad or tragic situation, like becoming homeless, you can still be helpful and beneficial to others, such as the man we met downtown was to his peers. Finally, this experience has transformed my thoughts on what volunteering and serving others means. While I used to think that if I set up chairs for a sporting event that I was making an impact on society, I now realize that my time can be spent in more beneficial, productive ways.
