These factors have been identified to affect people and make them to make the poor decisions. The concept of the Dirty Dozen was created in 1993 by Gordon Dupont, he was working for Transport Canada during this time, while he was creating a training program on human factors in aviation. The inquiry will be concentrated on a character analysis of the Dirty Harry's protagonist, Harry Callahan, antagonist, Scorpio, and Taxi Driver's (anti)hero Travis Bickle. These three characters will be reviewed in their relationship to violence, justice, and purpose. To start, I must admit that the film Dirty Harry struck me as terribly unrealistic. Harry Callahan and Scorpio appeared so absurd simply because they were so incredibly unambiguous, a quality that made the film smack of propaganda. The production crew of Dirty Harry did almost all the thinking for the viewer. At no point in the film would any rational viewer have condoned the actions of Scorpio or condemned Dirty Harry for doing his utmost to stop this incredibly perverse criminal. ...Shayna Robledo October 9, 2012 Music 290 The Dirty Heads A few weekends ago, on September 28, 2012, I attended The Dirty Heads (TDH) concert. The concert took place at Senator Theater. The doors opened at 7:30 PM and the concert started at 8:30 PM. The Dirty Heads has a full band. This means that they had a percussionist (Jon Olazabal), a drummer (Matt Ochoa), a bassist (David Foral), a vocalist/guitarist (Dustin “Duddy B”) and a singer/song writer (Jared “Dirty J” Watson). The style of music that they play is reggae with a mix of hip hop, ska punk, and So Cal style. They were the main event but Pyrex and Ease Up also performed during the concert. During the concert, TDH performed a number of amazing songs. My favorite four that they played are as follows; 1. Cabin by The Sea: This was my most favorite song that they played. It is a very mellow and relaxed song. The song is all about having the time of your life by the sea. It’s about relaxing and being yourself around your friends. It’s about expressing yourself and completely being at peace. It paints a picture of a fun night at the beach with your friends and completely being happy. I love that it kept repeating, “Our friends are all around and the storm was an ocean, they say we look better in a black and white photo”. ...The Dirty Dozen The company I work for is very big on human factors, as we all have to go through training for it when we first get hired on. And one specific part of human factors they focus on is the aviation "Dirty Dozen". I bring this up because it is a large part of what the Safety Management System (SMS) uses when investigating an aircraft maintenance damage incident. The aviation Dirty Dozen are: fatigue, stress, complacency, communication, awareness, distraction, lack of knowledge, teamwork, lack of resources, pressure, lack of assertiveness, and norms (The Dirty Dozen, n.d.). I have been involved in an incident (or two) myself, and when I talked to the SMS investigator, they literally went down the list of the Dirty Dozen and asked me if I had any issues with any of the conditions. They understand that the employees are human, and are prone to conditions that cause mistakes. I'm not saying that the Dirty Dozen is a fail-safe excuse for an incident, but it gives the investigator the human factor condition(s) that might have played a role, instead of just blaming the employee for the aircraft incident. This allows the investigator to make a fully informed decision on what the proper course of action is following the incident.
