DISC Paper
Due: 3/5/15

DISC was a great test that helped me understand my behavior better and how it will translate to the work force. I definitely agree with the results I got and plan on using them to my advantage for future job opportunities. These results were a high D and high I that stands for dominance and influence.
First, I noticed on my chart that there was a skyrocket D that was 92%. I wasn’t surprised that this was my highest result because I’ve been a leader all my life. From being captain of my football team when I was 8 to being the manager of College Pro Painters at 18. The type of leadership I abide by is a lead by example model instead of trying to boss everyone around. By doing this I feel like the people around me will respect me more and work harder to achieve our desired goal. Also, characteristics involved with the dominance behavior are being results-orientated and direct. I definitely see this in me because results are the only option for me. There are only two categories in life and that’s either getting shit done or you don’t. There is no halfway in my eyes, you go all in with everything or you don’t do it all. By having this instilled in by my parents all my life this gives me an advantage over many college students because I’m driven to get any objective completed no matter the price to pay. The other high percentage I had was a high I that stood around 80%. This makes sense to for me because I’m definitely outgoing and can talk to anyone from diverse backgrounds. Throughout college I’ve realized this was one of my major strengths because I’m able to interact with anyone and have meaningful conversations with them. So the results in this section represent me to a T and by taking this I’ve gained reassurance on the type of career I should pursue based on my attitudes. Noticing that I have a high D and high I, I’ve

...Introduction A self assessment can be simple and it can also be more in-depth. This paper will address the predominate behavior style that I posse, with strengths and weaknesses. It will also address how I agree with most parts of the assessment and disagree with others, identified in the DiSC Platinum Behavioral Style Assessment (Blanchardassessments.com, 2007). Predominate Behavior I am predominantly an Interactive style. My style is what they call an Impresser. We are less open and less direct than most other interactive styles. We like to win with flair as stated in the study (Blanchardassessments.com, 2007). On the other hand we do not want to win at the cost of someone else’s feelings. In this style taking shortcuts makes us feel as if we were cheating in a sense. We also become very impatient when people procrastinate with getting started on projects. Our type tends to have the all or nothing approach on work and home life. We are more apt to judge a person on their ability to make things happen. We like things done in the best way possible, because we do not like to look bad. Finally we can be restless, short tempered, and even lash out when under pressure (Blanchardassessments.com, 2007). Strengths and Weaknesses A interactive styles strengths are persuading, being optimistic, motivated and enthusiastic. We are idea people who can get other caught up in our own dreams because we are so good at persuasion. We bring people together to achieve or accomplish goals...

...Productive Aspect of Your Styles All of the styles measured by The AMA DISC Survey have positive and negative aspects. Some of the behaviors associated with each of the styles are productive and enhance personal effectiveness. Others are potentially counter-productive and can interfere with task performance and interpersonal relations. Half of the items on the DISC Survey assess productive aspects of the styles; the other half focus on counterproductive aspects. This section of the feedback report summarizes your responses to the items measuring the productive aspects of the styles. After presenting your productive style results, targets for development are identified and an exercise for strengthening your least productive style is offered. Date: Sunday, November 02, 2014 Your DISC Profile (Productive Aspects) Note: The styles that are least extended on the profile represent opportunities for development. ...Manners in which people conduct themselves are most readily attributed as behaviors; therefore clichés such as all people are different are truly an understatement. This concept is most amplified in the platinum DISC assessment. When confronted with a situation that involves multiples personality such as vocation, each person brings and adds their perspectives and values to the overall resolution. Genuinely I am intrigue with individual’s assessments because of the variety of traits that lead to each person’s character. People could have a similar style and yet still be exceedingly different. We can attribute that to basic commonalities that humans share such as goals, dreams and admirations. There are four DISC platinum primary behavioral styles such as dominance (D style), interactive (I style), steadiness (S style) and cautious (C style). People who fall under the dominance category are people who are willing and able to take the lead. They are go-getters who want to accomplish many things. Interactive people are people who are friendly and more concerned with building relationships rather than being task oriented. Often times they are considered to be party animals because of their carefree attitude. The steadiness style has a warm personality and they are often considered nurturers. They are excellent listeners as well as planners however; they are slow when it comes to making decisions. People who fall under the cautious style are people who are concerned with perfecting...

...and recording. Furthermore, the increased capacity accommodated more demanding data applications. At the same time, the DVD spec used the same form factor as the CD, allowing for seamless migration to the next generation format and offering full backwards compatibility Now, in the next millennium, High Definition video is demanding a new solution. History proved that a significant five to ten time increase in storage capacity and the ability to play previous generation formats are key elements for a new format to succeed. This new format has arrived with the advent of Blu-ray Disc, the only format that offers a considerable increase in storage capacity with its 25 to 50 GB data capacity. This allows for the next big application of optical media: the distribution and recording of High Definition video in the highest possible quality. In fact, no other proposed format can offer the data capacity of Blu-ray Disc, and no other format will allow for the same high video quality and interactive features to create the...

Charité Disc, a Medical Device Failure

...The Charité Disc, A Medical Device Failure 1.0 Brief Product Description Routine surgery for painful lumbar (low back) disc disease often involves spinal fusion. This is performed by preparing the bones, and placing graft bone between them, so that they can grow together into one bone. The success rates for this procedure are reasonable, but far from perfect. There are different fusion techniques, and results vary, depending on the patient’s individual pathology, the operation performed, and the skills of the surgeon. The option of an alternative that would replace the disc, and allow continued motion was greatly and widely anticipated within the United States. Some countries were allowing lumbar disc replacement, also termed arthroplasty, to be performed. The Charité disc was developed in Germany. It had been used in over 6,000 patients in Europe with satisfactory results. The disc was a three piece composite, with a metallic top and bottom, and a polyurethane central member that was intended to help simulate the normal motion of the spine when the patient would bend their back. Success rates in Europe were reported to be as high as 90% of patients with “Good” or “Excellent” outcomes. Clinical Studies would be required for approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Depuy Spine, a division of Johnson and Johnson, bought the Link Spine Group, LLC for 325 Million USD in order to acquire rights to the Charité. They sponsored a clinical trial, and...

...Team member 1
My style was the interactive style and based on the description given the hardest style that i would find hard to work with would be the d style (Dominance style), with my personality style i prefer working with others and in groups so team achievement is of a greater importance to me rather than self fulfillment. I tend to value others opinions, thoughts, feelings and try my hardest to not offend or hurt other individuals. In order to work with the d style personality i think i would have to practice patience amongst other things in understanding where they are coming from and attempting to understand their thought process, whilst being assertive and not allowing them to walk all over me. I would also have to face conflict head on as there would be situations where our personalities would clash and disagreements would follow. I would probably have to live with not being recognized or acknowledged which would built character hopefully when dealing or working with the d style personality. Communication would be key in overcoming hurdles due to conflict which would mean i would have to be very clear in making my expectations known as well as being open to coming to a common ground in terms of the expectations from the d style personality. Time management would be key in the achievement of goals and tasks when considering the mixing of both personalities in trying not to annoy the d style personality type. The Interactive Style (I Style): The Interactive Styles are...

...According to the Personal Profile instrument the author was scored with a classical profile pattern of “result-orientated pattern” and profile pattern table number 7512 “Result Oriented” in which the author was offended yet very much agreed with the outcomes. The results also revealed a “0” in the “I” portion which concerns the author. The following reflections are of the authors views on the outcomes and relationship in which the traits may have been picked up along with desired changes. The “D” portion of “Personal Profile Instrument” seemed to the obvious to the author once revealed in the results. Giving orders to a subordinate was simple and problem free as long as questions were not asked and directions were followed as instructed. All of which, rolled neatly over into being a police officer as long as it was directed at the bad guys. All of which confirms the description of the author in the “D”; abrupt, forceful, candid, assertive and make it happen. Each one can viewed as a desirable trait in a given situation but to operate in all walks of life has lead others to view him as aggressive, impatient, egotistical, outspoken.
