The Director of F&B at a hotel has many responsibilities. Develop a prioritize list of three to five skills for success as a Director of F&B. Be prepared to defend your ranking.

1). Motivation----- When being a director they need that motivation and strive to keep things moving at the right pace because the as the director, one has so many things to do on a daily base period. All the goals will be meet on time if the company has a mindset of being motivated to get things done and getting them done on time. I chose motivation because being motivated and having motivation it helps one throughout life to get things accomplished. The company as individuals follows the director and his orders and his motivation. If the director isn’t on time the company wont be either. With the director being in a motivated mood, the company will also be motivated and everything that has to be done will get done as needed.

2). Budgeting- Basically the Director needs to know and manage the finances of the company. The director needs to know how to do this important responsibility. Money comes in and out each day through a hotels F&B. If things go wrong with the finances all that relies on the director. All three of these responsibilities play a big role in the development of a great director of F&B. Even though each one plays a big role, I needed to prioritize them in order. Leadership came first because leadership is where everything starts. Its the heart and sole of a person in charge.

3). Leadership- I believe Leadership has to come first because being a director of food and beverages, every aspects have to be in tune to produce the right effect.
