Audience Adaptation 1. Specific Purpose: The purpose of this speech is to persuade my audience that texting while driving is not safe and it shall be stopped mentally and physically. 2. What kind of change? Although there are laws out there, citizens seem to bypass it all and continue to this day to never change this problem. 3. What did I find out in my audience analysis? How many people did a survey? What were the results? I found out that a lot of people agree to this statement that it needs to take in action right now. I had a total of 20 people doing my survey and the results came to be that the (16) majority agreed with my statement while the others (4) didn’t really care for it since they’ve never experienced or think it’s not that important. 4. Audience Attitude: When I asked people about their feelings concerning texting while driving, most of them engaged in the topic and explained how it relates to their personal lives. However, very few were careless on the topic since they have never experienced or been in a near death incident with texting while driving. Therefore, I determined that the majority of my audience has analyzed that texting while driving is harmful to our society and daily living. a. Reasons: If you text while driving, it can cause lack of attention to the road ahead of you and can cause a near death incident. b. Organizational Framework: I am going to use a statement of reasons framework. This topic naturally lends itself to present how the statement of reasons is just basically stating how bad texting and driving is in a chronological order, making my last point the strongest to persuade my audience. c.
