Serph was born into a small town called Merpuin, a town with a population of a little more then 100 people. Merpuin is a middle town mostly used for merchants to rest for the night and continue on their way. Most people that call it home often talk about leaving for the bigger cities but very rarely do. The only magic in the town is what people bring into the town and it leaves just as fast as it enters. It is surrounded by forest on one side and mountains on the other. The only real problem they have is they get attacked from time to time by bandits, normally they just steal some life stock and harass the villagers.

Serph was born to a mother that was the town Inn keeper and his father was a logger that would often be gone for days away on work. Serph would often respected by the adults in the village as a child, he would do everything within is power to help his mother around the inn, cleaning rooms, bring trivial things to the attendants and getting supplies when they where needed. When his father was home, Serph would send every moment he had with his father. Serph idolized him and would often try to leave with him to go become a logger like him.

When Serph was about 10 he got news that his father was killed while he was out working. His father was killed by Wood Elves, however; Serph was told it was bandits that killed him and his group. He was devastated when the news got to him, he thought that if he was there he could have defended his father. For a while Serph fell into a depression, in which he started slacking in his work around the inn and lost a lot of the recognition that he had gained around the town. After a few months he pulled himself out of it and decided that he was going to defend the town. He took up an interest in fighting and would train tirelessly, he was not going to let the same thing keep happening to the town.

The bandits would come and Serph would fight them off most of the time to no avail, he would get very injured and putting his mother in a constant state of worry. Serph became somewhat of a joke to the bandits as the "good-for-naught protector". After a while they would come just to get him worked up for their amusement.

When Serph was 16 the bandits decided they really wanted to mess with him. A small group of three came into the village in traveling robes they ransacked off some traders and entered the inn. While one stole his sword the other walked up to the desk and pulled a knife on his mother, threatening to kill her. Serph, in a panicked state tried to run to her rescue only to get tripped and his own sword held against him. He was ordered to sit back down in his chair, however; when he got up he did something he didn't know he could do. Before he knew it he had a bolt of arcane energy shoot from his hand, hitting the bandit standing right in front of him in the chest and knocking him over. Surprised by this, Serph tried again and sure enough it worked, this time knocking the guy with the knife and his mother dunked behind the desk, just as confused as everyone else. As the last bandit ran, Serph walked up to the one that was going to kill his mother and fired on last bolt into the bandit's face, killing him. As Serph was walking back to the one that had his sword, his armed transformed into arms that resembled a bronze dragon, Serph picked up the bandit and quickly broke his neck in one swift move. When people realized what had happened they where both in a state of awe and fear.
That night the town counsel had a meeting to discuss what happened. They decided it would be better to send him off, the bandits where going to be out for his blood and if they remove him they would go after him and leave the village alone. The next day they approached Serph and told him that they where going to send him to Lemals, a town that was quite a bit larger so he could train and being back people to defend them. Serph, being as he was didn't want to leave but saw this as the only way to protect his mother, knowing the bandits would come back for her and himself.

When Serph got to Lemals he was almost instantly rushed to see the king. The king, knowing about people with Draconic blood, instantly enlisted him in Knight training where he spent the next two years. While there he was often pushed harder then the other recruits and often would pass out during his training. However, he advanced quicker then anyone else, quickly gaining total control over his magic potential and becoming proficient with his greatsword. and was deemed a knight. He got his first mission when he was 18, it was to go to the Dwarf village of (town name where we are) and investigate the disturbances that they have been getting complains about.

Radiation

...Angela Li Physics 171 Problem Set 6 Leaking landfill 2014/10/4 Dear citizens: I’m really sorry about the leaking landfill in our city. Many of you may concern the impact of releasing radioactive radon gas on your health but I’m here to assure you that you are not in too much danger and do not have to over worry. First, let’s consider the short-term effects of radiation damage to cells. If a whole body exposes to less than 100 rem (1 Sievert) dose of radiation, people will experience no short-term radiation illness. You will expose to approximately an extra 1 milli-Sievert whole-body dose per year due to the leak. The dose is far below 1 Sievert. So you will not be sick because the cells in your body can repair the tiny damage naturally. Then, I’ll talk about extra risks of getting cancers. According to the Linear Hypothesis which predicts cancer effects at very low levels, each of you will get 4*10^-5 extra risk of getting cancers each day, which is only 0.04 extra cancers. When we expand the time range into a year, extra 14 to 15 people in 1000 of you will get cancers due to radiation. Much fewer people than 14 will actually die from cancer. Even without radiation, about 40% people will get cancer and about 20% of them will die of it. So even if there is no releasing radiation, about 400 people among you will get cancer sometime in your lives and 200 people will die for it. So the danger of getting cancer from radiation is very minimal compared to the natural rate...

Hrm 240 Selection Tools

...entry-level. It will also be presumed that this program is limited to only three selection tools. With those limitations in mind, the three selection tools that would yield the best results for this scenario would be; personality inventory (personality tests), criminal background checks, and drug testing. One selection tool is not better than another or more effective used alone. In fact, a combination of these three tools used in conjunction with each other would produce better outcomes for the employer using them. In a supermarket position it is safe to say that there will be numerous occasions in which the employee will have to interact with a customer or the general public. It is in the employer’s best interest to place workers in these positions that know and understand how to relate to others; hence the importance of personality testing. The advantage with personality testing is that it allows the employers a means to gage an applicant’s demeanor or temperament. If an applicant fails the required personality testing then it is pretty safe to assume that the candidate is not best suited for a position that deals heavily with customer service, and cannot be placed in such a job. Negotiations Initiative 594

...number 594 concerns revolutionizing existing criminal and public safety background checks by licensed dealers to encompass all firearm sales and transfers by incorporating gun show, private sales, and online sales. With this measure to be voted on the ballot on November 4, 2014, there are some exemptions permitted for family, police (local and federal), military, and those in imminent danger. (Voters' Pamphlet) Cherie and I have put together this planning guide to give us the opportunity to think about the upcoming negotiation we have with Andrew and Ryan regarding the measure 594 and our thoughts. This measure is a topic that is relevant to the regional area as the vote is only a few weeks away. Background checks for gun transfers is being discussed in many forums, around many dinner tables, and the supporters of both sides of the measures are bombarding the voters with commercials, mailings, and phone calls to ensure knowledge of the measure and to sway the voters to their side. Case Study 12.5

...Case 12.5 Leonel v. American Airlines, Inc., poses some unusual circumstances to the legal minded individual, but also rises some ethical and socially unacceptable facets to the case. I feel like the applicants won the suit on a mere technicality, though the ADA does provide support for people like the applicants here in this case, and American Airlines must show that they are willing to work with people with disabilities. As the circumstances in the situation suggest, Leonel and the other applicants were offered employment that was contingent upon passing background checks and medical examinations. The hinging factor was that American Airlines decided to have the applicants complete the medical examinations first before the also required background checks. FindLaw.com says this about the case: "When employers rescind offers made conditional on both non-medical and medical contingencies, applicants cannot easily discern or challenge the grounds for rescission. When medical considerations are isolated, however, applicants know when they have been denied employment on medical grounds and can challenge an allegedly unlawful denial." (Findlaw, 2016) This is the mistake that American Airlines made. They allowed the circumstances to dictate how their procedures were carried out. At the least they should have waited to rescind the offers of employment until after all examinations were completed. This might have provided more of a covering and could have prevented this type of lawsuit...
