Paragraph 1: Argument: What is the main argument of this reading?
Drew Faust’s main argument in this reading showing a power struggle between the enslaver versus the enslaved. The power struggle was began to build tensions in the recent years before emancipation. Quickly, Emancipation is the freeing of slaves so it is seen how this could cause conflict with the two groups.
