Dual Career Path

I am Taejonna Johnson, a 10th grade student that attends your high school. I have been working vigorously in the past two years of my high school career to get to the point where I’m at, which is eligible to graduate early. I made the decision that this is what I wanted to do when I was in 8th grade; as I’ve gotten older and matured, I’ve figured out what my main reasons are for trying to graduate early. If I am granted the privilege of graduating early then that’ll give me more time to focus on the dual major that I want to do and going pre-law. My high school career has so far been a rollercoaster. My freshman year I didn’t do that well due to some health issues that I was suffering with that sometimes distracted me from my work. I injured my knee during football season cheerleading and I had surgery in April which caused me to miss a month a school, when I finally returned I only went to school on even days for about a month and someone would come help me …show more content…
I’ve been looking into North Carolina A&T, Southern University, and Winston Salem State University as my top three choices. I’m also interested in NCCU, Howard, Norfolk, Delaware State, Morgan State, and Virginia State. All of their requirements are around the same and I am currently meeting them, or close to meeting them. They require a GPA of a around 2.0 I have a 3.1, they would like a score of at least 1000 on the SAT I received an 860 on the PSAT. When I go to college I want to do a dual major in Political Science and Psychology or Criminology depending on which college I get accepted into and decided to go to. I want to be a Defense Attorney, become a Judge, maybe even a Governor, then possibly be the President one day (but the world may not be ready for that just yet). I am going prelaw then going to law school hopefully at Harvard or another highly reputable law school somewhere in the

Career Development Plan Part Iii

...Career Development Plan Part III Frank A. Cruz University of Phoenix Performance appraisals can be an important tool for both management as well as the employee, although I find that performance appraisals can be subjective. This is not to say that appraisals are not of importance if you are going to reward employees on their merit or performance. However, this can be a slippery slope when linking an employee’s pay with a performance appraisal. However, doing this can cause conflict between improving performance and deciding on increases. The goal of employee and managers improving performance should be working together, in effect, working on the same team to solve problems. When managers use appraisals to determine pay typically the dynamic changes, the employee and manager are not on the same team. The employee tends to feel that they deserve a larger pay increase while management typically does not since funds are typically limited. Again the employees will focus on his or her strong points rather than focusing on the areas that need improvement. When money is put on the table typically people are quicker to be more firm and stubborn pointing out the intensity of their performance on the appraisal results. This only makes sense when an employee reviews the results of an appraisal since it is tied to his or her pay. That being said, performance appraisals will be done every month during the transition. After a year, performance appraisals will go to every six months....

I Want To Be A Physical Therapist

...If for some reason I could no longer become an athletic trainer and had to change my career path, I would become a physical therapist because it is the next thing close to it. Athletic Training has been what I wanted to do for such a long time, I love the sports aspect and being able to interact with people, so the next best thing for me would be physical therapy. I would still be able to help people with sports related injuries, and many other injuries at that, and still be able to have that sense of helping people and making their lives just that much easier, which in the long run is all that I want. I do not see it as such a career change since they are very similar, I would just have to cope with the idea that I cannot work hands on with a team or school, and have to work at an office with my patients. This is something that might take a while for me to cope with, having a dream for so long and then having it taken away and being told to go down a different path cannot be easy. It would be a big transition, depending on how far down the AT track I am that I have to switch. If the switch is happening near the beginning, then I will eventually be okay with it because I will have the time to get over it. But if the transition were to happen later on in my college...

Mentoring

...profession in earth. Teaching or a career in education has been popular among people with an academic bend of mind. Although teachers have become less noble and a teaching career has become just another career choice, the regard and respect that the profession invokes in the minds of the common person is still large. Often teachers leave a permanent impression in the minds of their students and have been instrumental in guiding students to achieve what they thought was not possible by them. Often teachers have the dual role of teaching and developing the character of the child. Most of the countries, particularly the European nations, face a shortage of teachers and candidates from countries like India fulfill their teaching requirements. In fact, the requirement is high not just for teachers, but also for school administrators, teacher's aides, and instructional coordinators. The objective of this paper is to find out the role of the school administration in enhancing the productivity of teachers through the process of mentoring. The word Mentoring has its origin in the Greek Language. “Mentoring--from the Greek word meaning enduring--is defined as a sustained relationship between a youth and an adult” [Dennis, 1993]. It is the process in which successful individuals go out of their normal routine to help others to establish goals and develop the skills to reach those goals. This means that mentoring is more like adopting a person and showing him a path, mostly a tried and tested...
