Hewlett Packard is the one of the leading manufacturers of the Notebook PCs, Desktop PCs, Monitors & Projectors, Handhelds & Calculators, Printers, All-in-Ones and etc. This has been merged with Compaq and now they are under one roof for their business.
Project: we pull the direct and indirect data(relational/files) from OLTP/data warehouses from different locations and loads this data into the EWMS warehouse(Oracle9i) using ETL tool Informatica on Weekly/Monthly basis. Once the data is loaded we execute the MS-DTS packages to refresh the OLAP cubes. We have web based reports which access the data from these cubes. We also provide BO/WEBI reports to the users which access from the direct tables in the warehouse schema through BO universes. In this way we provide automation to the end users requirements by providing them the data through reports for their analysis to look into their areas of business improvements.
Responsibilities:
➢ Extracted the data from Oracle, Flat Files, Transformed (Implemented required Business Logic) and Loaded into the target Data warehouse (Oracle 8i). ➢ Created Informatica Mappings with different transformations including Source Analyzer, Lookup, Filter, Expression, Aggregator, Stored Procedure, Look up Transformations and more. ➢ Developed mapplets, mappings. ➢ Created reusable transformations and mapplets to use in multiple mappings. ➢ Worked Efficiently with Designer tools including Source Analyzer, Warehouse designer, Mapping and Mapplet Designer, Transformations.

Overview: Merck & Co., Inc. is a global research-driven pharmaceutical company, established in 1891. Merck discovers, develops, manufactures and markets vaccines and medicines in over 20 therapeutic categories. Merck also devotes extensive efforts to increase access to medicines through far-reaching programs. Merck has its own ETL team, which provides extract, transform and load (ETL) services to 27 project teams across 5 business areas using Informatica Power Center. ETL team at offshore is responsible to assist the Merck team with coordination, evaluation and testing of infrastructure changes that may affect the Informatica environment, which include Oracle database, UNIX servers, mainframe environment, etc.
Responsibilities:
➢ Extracted the data from Oracle, flat files, applied business login and loaded into Data warehouse. ➢ Created tables, views, procedures for the database, using PL/SQL. ➢ Developed re-usable mapplets for various Mappings. ➢ Created various mappings using Designer include, Source Qualifier, Expression, Aggregator, Stored Procedure, Look up Transformations. ➢ Involved in preparation of Unix Scripts.
