Introduction

DGHG, a multinational hotels and resort group has opened a new resort and spa facility on the Central Coast of NSW, CCResort. It has also had numerous amounts of money used on promotions, hence wanted to know what type of clientele had been attracted to CCResort. This is for the purposes of evaluating the effectiveness of the resorts service delivery if they were successful in meeting their key performance indicators (KPI’s) stated in their business plan.

Features of the data set

From the sample data given, 69% of the clientele has a family income exceeding $100,000 as shown in the diagram. Income tends to influence the spending habits with those with an income exceeding $100,000 spending more than those without an income, since a majority of them tend to prefer a full week stay.

As it was the initial plan during the promotions to target the family clientele, this was achieved in that the highest family bookings were at 35% for families with four members followed closely by those with two members at 34% of all bookings. Families with five to six members had the lowest bookings at 10% each as shown in the table.
